  1. Pete Caroll was the head coach for the Patriots.
  2. If you believe what's being said it is easy to see what's going on in Buffalo. Thurman tweets "it's on like a MOFO": He later reveals to John Murphy that it isn't ownership or coach related. He also insinuates we'll know by Monday. Now this doesn't mean Chan is safe, it just means Thurman knows something else about the Bills, other than coaching or ownership. Russ Brandon meets with Jon Gruden: It wasn't Buddy Nix doing the talking, so he might be on the outs. Brandon, on Ralph's orders, is doing his due diligence and trying to find the next guy to run the team. Ralph Wilson prepares a video with a message to Bills nation: This can mean many things, changing of ownership to beat a deadline, IMO, is highly unlikely. Take what we know about Russ' meeting and all signs point to Buddy Nix's removal as GM, but more likely, RW will give up control of the Bills and name a new President or announce that he will be offering the president title as bait for a bigger name to be named later and then that guy can do the dirty work of dumping Chix or possibly even keeping one or both of them, if he so chooses. This is where Thurman's tweet comes into play. It could be he's in the know of a possible RW replacement. Maybe it's Kelly. Maybe it's Polian. Thurman knows these two personally, so he could have some insider info, but I doubt it will be either of them. If anything, Jim Kelly will be handed a job in the front office. In the end, I predict RW will step down as President, retain ownership, and have Russ Brandon/Jim Kelly find the best available/willing guy to be President and run this organization from head to toe. Chan and Buddy will not be fired tomorrow, but will be let go once a new president has been named.
  3. Since I'm up, I'll handle this. How do you hide an inaccurate QB and win with one decent receiver, you ask? Well, first of all, you can start by NOT running a spread offense with 3 garbage receivers on the field and a QB that can't get them the ball, anyways, especially when you have one of the best running games in the league. And that's just the beginning of it. Chan is spineless, hence his team is spineless, as well. He's horrible at making mid-game adjustments. Doesn't go for "two" when he should. He probably has the worst challenge percentage in the league. He makes boneheaded decisions, such as Brad Smith's interception against Ari. He refuses to run the ball when trying to close out games. He must be the only coach in the league that can't get a #3 quarterback ready enough to be on the field over an 18 week period. He doesn't even try 50 yard field goals. He doesn't get the most out of players. He thinks Donald Jones is a number two. He has a horrible AFC East record with only 4 wins in three years. He thought Spencer Johnson and Alex Carrington can play outside linebacker. I can go on and on. How do we even know if Nix is drafting poorly? Maybe Chan isn't good at bringing along players. He's made something out of Stevie Johnson and Scott Chandler, to a lesser degree, but that's it. Chan isn't safe. He isn't coming back as head coach of the Buffalo Bills. We've seen enough.
  4. I know many of you are in favor of Polian's return to Buffalo, but how would you feel if AJ Smith returned along with him?
  5. I thought you were going to say bet on the Bills vs the Jets. We're going to win this game, unfortunately. As far as Mario goes, he'll have more sacks when we're actually leading our opponents in the 2nd half of games. Jared Allen is the only DE I've ever seen rack up an obscene amount of sacks on a losing team.
  6. It's been a very long, long, long time since we had a QB. The quarterback is the heart and soul of any team. There aren't any sure things at QB in this draft. That's why I'd be willing to use all 3 picks on one. I'm desperate!! It's a quarterback driven league. To hell with the defense, they'll get better when our offense improves.
  7. I keep hearing how we need linebackers, and receivers, and I agree, but QB is THE most important position on any NFL team hoping to win a Super Bowl. Period. So I say screw everything else. Draft a quarterback in the first three rounds and hope one of them pan out. 1. Smith/Glennon 2. Manuel/Barkley 3. Nassib/Boyd This may be a little drastic, but what the hell. I'm tired of inept quarterbacking. Smith and Manuel, in particular, have the skill set present day NFL requires. Big arms and mobile. Free agency can fill out the remaining holes.
  8. I'm going on record as saying I do not want Gruden in Buffalo. I'd rather steal from the 49ers' coaching staff. Roman runs a run heavy, complex offense that I would love to see here. I wouldn't even mind Alex Smith to come along with him. 70% completion percentage is just what this offense needs. Limit the turnovers and keep the chains moving.
  9. I'm confident LA will have a team by year 7. Great news today! Thank you Ralph.
  10. Russ Brandon keeps saying that but I don't recall this many blackouts in the 90s. The Saints, Eagles and Oilers comeback games come to mind, but not much else.
  11. That's unfortunate. Young people should only be allowed to drive Tercels. I was really really stupid to take my car up to 127. The I-190 isn't exactly smooth sailing. Especially between downtown and Seneca. Very uneven, bumpy road.
  12. You can't kill this guy off!
  13. I was only 17 when I bought my Beretta. I used to take her up to 127mph on I90 racing friends. That was stupid of me.
  14. Yeah, it definitely was a common car on the streets of Buffalo. Me, my cousin and my friend all had one. People would see all three of our cars back to back cruising down Seneca and the Elmwood Strip pumping some beats without a care in the world. Good times. It wasn't my best car, but it was my favorite. It's funny, that car was the best car in my high school (Hutch Tech), but when I moved to Miami during senior year I was shocked to see high school kids driving Beamers.
  15. I always said I wanted to upgrade to a better car ever since I got my first car. Well, it didn't work out as planned. As I got older, I got to be more conservative. 1. 89 Chevy Beretta GT purchased '91 2. New '96 Honda Accord LX 3. '04 Volvo S60R purchased '06 4. New 11 Toyota Corolla S
  16. Yeah, I'm betting the Bills. Even if we lose we should keep it under the spread. NY Jets game I'm not too sure of. If we're favored by 3 or more, I'd have to think it over.
  17. At first I was intrigued by Glennon. After further review, I'll pass. His YPA is pedestrian even though he throws downfield a lot, he can't move at all, and he throws far too many picks. No thanks. Nix has hinted at moving in the draft to get his franchise QB and I believe him. The Bills plan this offseason is to make Fitzpatrick out to be the fall guy. I see the Bills trading a ton of picks to get Geno Smith. I'm all for that. Geno is a stud. If the other team doesn't want to play ball, then they might take Glennon.
  18. Five years ago, a couple of my friends (Dolphin fans) and I flew up to Buffalo to catch the Dolphins vs Bills at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. These same guys have been to the Ralph a few times as well. They hated the atmosphere even though there were way more Miami fans in TO than they'll ever see in Buffalo. The hate started early. We didn't plan on tailgating, but when we got there no one else was. We found out later that day that tailgating isn't allowed in TO. That's reason enough right there for them to never even have a franchise of their own. And then we noticed the silence of the fans walking into the stadium. No one singing the shout song. No one giving the "opposing" fans a hard time-nothing. We finally got to our seats and the game began and then things got really ugly. It felt like a funeral. The Dolphins won that game, but my friends didn't enjoy it at all. What does that tell you? Build the Bills like the Patriots and the fans will come from everywhere to go to the Ralph. Winning cures all.
  19. I never felt threatened by them. Not even once. And if Fitzy was accurate he'd be a Pro Bowler. "If" is a big word.
  20. I've gotta song for every occasion. Pre Draft: "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey Post draft: "I Missed Again" by Phil Collins Opening Day: This one is a little embarrassing, "The Time is Now" by John Cena September: "Back to Life" by Soul 2 Soul October: "Give it Away" by Red Hot Chili Peppers November: "The Thrill is Gone" by B.B. King December: "That's Life" by Frank Sinatra January: "Na, Na, Hey, Hey, Goodbye" by Steam When we fire our coach: "A Change is Gonna Come" by Al Green When we hire our new coach: "Puke" by Eminem When we choke away a game: "Love Hurts" by Nazareth
  21. Where were all you Zooey fans when she made "New Guy"? LOL? She is cute as hell, though.
  22. Traded in my Volvo S60R for a boring Toyota Corolla in an effort to go green.
