  1. Maybe I should be a little more optimistic-just like your handle. BTW. I can deal with one position change on the offensive line. Maybe even two, and that's only if I had no choice, but to have 4 out of your five possible starters on the line starting at brand new positions is the easiest way to get your QB killed. No one here, with any certainty, can say that the Bills will be fine on the O-Line.
  2. Until they figure out how to detect HGH use, there won't be any. Not me. I want my championship to have more purity than a new born baby.
  3. Yeah, it's just training camp. No, it's much more than that. The Bills are moving guys around on the O-Line like it's going out of style. This strategy will blow up in our faces and get Trent Edwards killed. No way he lasts all year long. To all of you saying, "this is just training camp" and "the defense is supposed to be way ahead of the offense at this stage of camp", should go to their kitchen and try to create a meal using different kinds of seasoning than what would normally be used for a particular type of dish and see how well that works out for you.
  4. Langston Walker specializes in pass-pro, the only question for him is will he be as effective against the more athletic right end types as opposed to the left ends he faced in the past. Brad Butler seems to be struggling against the bull rush thus far in training camp, which surprises me. He played RG and faced large DT's on the regular. Why is he struggling against an end using the bull rush? Maybe it's all in the footwork, he has to learn how to defend against an outside rush that turns into a bull rush on a counter move. With time, he should be able to adjust. I hope. Hangartner can't be worse than what we had at center in the recent past. This spot should be an upgrade. Eric Wood is an absolute beast. I love this kid. I just watched the Senior Bowl again and payed close attention to Wood, in particular. This kid was stone walling Raji all day and he can pull. The kid is athletic and strong. Andy Levitre concerns me a bit. I payed close attention to him as well when I watched the Senior Bowl and he struggled. In his defense, he did get moved around quite a bit during that game. He played left and right tackle and left and right guard in that game. This unit has a ton of question marks to answer. If the Bills are happy with what they have got then the Bills won't sign anybody on the O-line to help. If they do sign someone, such as Levi Jones or Jonas Jennings, then we should be worried, because that means the coaching staff is concerned with what they have in place already.
  5. Please Bills, sign this guy before someone else does. I have zero faith in our tackles, right now. Our O-Line is the only thing stopping us from having a top 10 offense.
  6. We're lacking a NT more than anything else if we indeed wanted to switch to a 3-4 on occasion. If the Bills wanted to go 3-4 under the personnel we have now, I'd say Denney and Stroud would be the ends, Kelsay and Maybin would be the OLB's and Mitchell and Pos would be the MLBers. I'm not sure how Kelsay would work out at OLB, but he would be a better fit there than Schobel would be at this point in his career.
  7. Let me start by saying I agree with a lot that has been said in this thread, thus far. Sacks are sometimes an overrated stat and QB pressures can be just as effective as a sack itself. It's hard to put a number on how many sacks will make me happy for Aaron Maybin this year. When you talk about sack totals for any player there are many variables that has to be taken into account, such as, how often do the Bills have the lead on their opponents? How well do the players around you play? How many snaps a game will Maybin get? Will Maybin be a part of the dime and nickel packages? If all of the above mentioned scenarios go Maybin's way and he finishes with only two sacks and a ton of QB hurries, then you can consider his rookie season a success. If he gets two sacks and hardly any QB hurries, then you can consider his rookie season a mild disappointment. Sacks have a lot to do with the success of a football team, overall. Out of the top ten sack leaders in the league last year, 8 of these guys' teams made the playoffs and 14 out of the top 20 sack leaders' teams got to the postseason. 3 out of the 6 guys that didn't make the playoffs in '08, 2 of these guys played for the Dallas Cowboys and one of them played for the Jets, had 9 & 7 records. Mario Williams' Texans had 8 wins, and Richard Seymour's Pats had 11 wins. The only guy in the top twenty in sacks last year that had a losing record was Aaron Kampman, whose Packers finished with only 6 wins. So, as you can see, sack totals have a lot to do with how good a team is. If the Bills get their usual 7 wins and Maybin ends up with 6 sacks, I will be pleasantly surprised.
  8. This guy conveniently left out the fact that Ginn got completely shut down when the Bills played the Fish again, gaining only eighteen yards the whole game.
  9. Show me the finest girl on earth and I'll show you the guy that's tired of banging her.
  10. You're gonna take the word of a chic that may have a murderer as a boyfriend? Nice. RIP McNair and friend.
  11. The Bills' O-Line will struggle mightily this year. There are far too many shifts/changes to expect things to go smoothly. The Bills' FO has to take some precautionary steps to solidify that area by signing either Jonas Jennings or Levi Jones. Both will come cheap and can be had easily. I'd also like to add the fact that neither one of these guys should expect to be named a starter without first having to prove themselves to be healthy and talented enough at this point in their respective careers to actually land a starting gig. What this means is Buffalo can still attempt to pull off their off-season strategy for the O-Line without having any pressure to start one of these two guys at LT. If all else fails and the plan doesn't work, Walker can always go back to RT, Butler can be moved back to G if Wood isn't ready to play RG, and Levi/Jonas can start at LT. Under this scenario, the Bills have many more options that can help them put together the pieces of the puzzle much faster. If we don't sign one of these aforementioned LT's, then the Bills can find themselves in a horrible position if both of our tackles struggle at their new positions and/or injury strikes. Here's an example, what would happen if LW is getting abused at LT and Brad Butler gets injured for an extended amount of games? Currently, our first guy off the bench is Chambers, he'd most likely take over LW's spot at LT and LW will be moved back to RT. I don't like this move because I don't like Chambers' game. He is limited at best and I don't think he can ever be more than a swing tackle/occasional replacement kind of guy, but for arguments' sake, let's say that happens. The question now is, who's gonna give our tackles a rest during games? Demitrious Bell? He's just not quite ready yet. The fact is, we have no one else to handle that job. To sum it all up, the Bills need to sign Jones or Jennings, ASAP. Think of it as an expensive insurance policy with potential upside. If these guys can stay healthy, and they already proved they have the talent to play at a high level in this league. IMO, signing a back-up tackle at this point of the off-season is far more important than bringing in whatever else remains in free agency at OLB to replace Ellison. At the very least, Ellison starting won't lead to our starting QB getting injured.
  12. I actually like the new unis, but I'd love to see the Bills go back to the jerseys of the 90's. We actually won games in those.
  13. Simply put, Whitner has been moved around far too much to get a true assessment of his ability. Hopefully everyone stays healthy this year and we can finally evaluate DW as a SS for a full year. Only then can we talk about his replacement, if need be.
  14. You sum it up pretty well. As an outsider looking in, he probably read an article somewhere stating Whitner has been moved to FS and Scott will man the SS spot and that the Bills will also be taking a strong look at Byrd for the FS spot as well. He must have assumed the loser of the FS battle will be relegated to the bench. His assumption is wrong, obviously. Whitner will be moved back to SS. In the event that Byrd doesn't pan out or isn't quite ready to be a starter, then at least DW will have had some reps at FS before the season begins.
  15. Donte must not have received the memo that second round pick Jairus Byrd already has the FS position locked up and will be an All-Pro, no-scratch that, All-World free safety.
  16. The Pats*? Just put their whole team in there.
  17. Big difference here, though. No one knew the Wildcat was coming. The media already spilled the beans on the no-huddle. The Pats will be ready for it.

  19. I liked Brown before the draft and most certainly before the rotoworld report. This subject just so happens to be the best debate about football going on the wall right now. What else is there to talk about this time of year?
  20. I tried to make this very same argument several times in this thread to no avail. People just seem to forget that once upon a time the Bills' roster consisted of a 4th rd WR, a center from the USFL, a disregarded aging WR, a second rd RB and many other players that were over-looked by the rest of the league that just so happen to be in the HOF or should be in the HOF, in Reed and Hull's case.
  21. No, I do not know more about player personnel than either Nix or Modrak, but that doesn't mean they can be wrong at times and I can be right. As far as the "whole league being stupid for passing up Brown once" thing goes, far greater players, and many HOFers, have been surpassed more than that. That argument is ignorant, at best.
  22. Count me in on PS3. If we do a fantasy draft, I got dibs on the Chargers. I love those unis. If not, give me the Texans or Cardinals. BTW. How do we decide the draft slotting?

  24. What a moron! Take this for what it's worth, but...
