  1. Jackson is the man!!!! His streak of over 100 yards combined offense when he starts remains intact. How do you justify taking him out of the starting line-up? Ones thing's for sure, Jackson & Lynch as a duo will be tough to stop!!!
  2. I think the best part about Monday's game was BB didn't supply the rest of the league with a defensive blueprint to stop the Bills' "O", like he normally does. The Bucs will now have to decide whether or not they want to take away the screen pass or Evans and Owens. They wont be able to do both. I like our match-ups on the offensive side of the ball.
  3. Please use the young guys. Now that Fine may be back, that should not change things. Nelson could be a force out there. Demote Fine to third string, please. Nic Harris, Ashlee Palmer, and Chris Ellis all need some PT, as well. Don't be afraid to use them! To Perry Fewell, next time you have to stop someone within the 30 yard line with very little time remaining, use 2 or even 3 down lineman and put everyone else in coverage. I know you were worried about Welker and Moss, and you doubled both of those guys, but that strategy didn't work. We left the middle of the field wide open. At most the opposition can deploy 5 receivers, you can deploy nine guys in coverage. Double everyone! Give the QB no place to go, force him to run and kill his own clock! The Giants used two down lineman against us in SB 25 and that worked out well for them, there's no reason to suspect that it wont work for us. To AVP, now that people will be concerned with the screen pass don't be afraid to take some shots down the middle to Nelson, don't be afraid to go deep! The opposition has a lot to worry about with a team like the Bills that have so many weapons at their disposal. Make them defend the whole field. The running game should thrive under these conditions.
  4. Good post. I'd like to add that the O-line's athleticism also had a lot to do with the screen pass' success as well as TO, as you stated.
  5. The last time Buffalo had such a devastating meltdown against the Cowboys our Bills went on to win 4 straight and 6 out of 8 contests. I'm hoping history repeats itself. I'm sure everyone in the organization has a bitter taste in their mouth and will come out determined to redeem themselves. I'm glad the meltdown happened week one this time around. Last time this happened, we feel to 1 & 4, and we needed an unbelievable winning streak to get into the playoffs. Of course it didn't happen and we lost our last three games that year, but we did put ourselves in playoff contention that year. For the Bills to overcome this collapse we're gonna need to hold our ground the next two weeks at home and then steal the match-up in Miami. After seeing the way the Bills played against the Pats*, I believe it's possible. I feel a lot more optimistic about the Bills' chances this year and actually feel like we can beat any team in our division at home, including the Pats*. We're only gonna get better, too. A lot of people are down on Bell right now because of the penalties and sacks he gave up, but I'm not. Bell will only continue to get better, and so will the rest of the line. Levitre looks great, even better than Wood. Hangartner played against one of the nastiest NT's in the game and held his own and Wood was phenomenal. I was pleasantly surprised with Butler's play as well. He had a very good game. He did give up a sack on the last drive, but those things happen when you send everyone deep against a prevent type of defense. Hopefully next time, AVP will send an RB out to the flats just in case Trent finds himself under duress in that type of scenario. You never know, a short play into the flats can lead to some serious YAC against that kind of defense. In all, I am relieved this happened in week one this time around and not too late into the season like it did against the Cowboys and Browns. This team has to be fed up with this nonsense by now and it will only make us stronger! I love Buffalo Bills football, no matter what! Let's go Bills!!!!!
  6. I've got to chime in on this Gretzky vs Lemieux debate. I respect Lemieux's game, he was physical, strong, had touch, and was an excellent shooter. He was a great finisher when he had a break-away, even scoring with guys draped all over him,. Just amazing. Gretzky wasn't the biggest, the fastest, nor the most physical player in the league, quite the contrary, I must say, but he dominated the game with his mind. I've never seen anyone play the game with Gretz' vision and foresight. He is by far the game's greatest passer. He elevated the level of play of all that played with him. Gretzky has more assists then anyone else has in combined points. All this and he still leads the NHL in goals scored in a season as well as the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer, ever. Gretzky was also the game's greatest ambassador, promoting the sport all over the place, such as SNL, various Late Night shows and so on and so forth. When he retired as a player, no one filled the void and the game still suffers today because of it. Overall, the edge has to go to Gretzky, IMHO. The game is still looking for the "Next One".
  7. I voted for FJ. Jackson gets over a hundred yards combined every time he starts. BTW. I will like them together even more!!!
  8. You got the "Thomas" part right, only it's Pat Thomas.
  9. What I liked most about AVP's play calling was the way he set up Nelson's TD by calling two running plays prior to said touchdown in the same exact formation as the TD play where Nelson goes in motion and lays a block on those runs only to turn the same looking play into a pass that led to Nelson being so open. A coordinator with foresight, who'd of thunk it?
  10. Whenever you have a complete meltdown like the Bills had tonight there is always plenty of blame to go around. One things for sure, those four drops on four different third downs that should have been first downs really hurt.
  11. Whitner hits a guy that isn't even down yet and gets called for a personal foul, in the meantime Lee Evans gets hit AFTER he is down and yet no call.
  12. Bucs? Yes. Saints? No F'in way!
  13. This one was much worse. It was against the Pats*.
  14. I don't believe Poz will miss the entire season this time around. Last time he broke his arm he could have came back in six weeks, but it was his rookie year and they felt it would be best to put him on injured reserve. This year, if it is a six week injury, I can see the Bills releasing one of our corners, such as Lankster, instead. The only question I have is, if Lankster gets released and clears waivers, can we still place him on our practice squad?
  15. If things don't start out well for the Bills in '09, then RW won't have to fire DJ. I believe Jauron will resign on his own.
  16. 9/11 was a horrible day in history. My thought's and prayers go out to all that was, and still is, affected by the events of that very tragic day. To all the innocents lives lost, the families that were left behind, the US soldiers abroad, and the innocent lives lost in Afghanistan and Iraq. May God be with you.
  17. Jeter is the man. I sure wish we had the equivalent of Jeter on the Bills' squad for as long as Jeter was a Yankee! Congrats Jeter. BTW. Why don't we talk about the Yanks more often? They are, after all, our home team, the best team in the majors, and are the anti-Bills.
  18. I'm with you, man. I know I predicted the Bills will be slaughtered by the Pats*, but as the game draws closer, I have this wierd feeling that the Bills will play better than expected. I still think we will lose, but it may not be by much. Here are some of my reasons why I changed my tune. 1. The Bills O-Line didn't show anything in the pre-season. The guards rarely pulled, if they even pulled at all, and we all know they're athletic enough to do so and have done it (pulling) very well at the college level. 2. The Bills practiced the screen a lot in TC, but we hardly saw it in the exhibitions. 3. When Owens was healthy, Trent threw the ball down the field a lot in TC. During the games, nothing. 4. Schobel and Maybin will finally be on the field together at the same time. I believe our pass rush will make things uncomfortable for Brady all game long. 5. Our offense can't be THIS bad! 6. Like you said, the Pats* have no idea what's coming for them. New coordinator, and Owens on the field with Lee at the same time. 7. The Bills' receiving corps should have an edge over the Pats*' secondary. 8. We are LONG overdue! LET'S GO BILLS!!!!!
  19. I'd rather see Jonas Jennings, if he's healthy and in decent shape, in Buffalo. He can play left and right tackle.
