  1. http://www.wgrz.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=23654 Dan Marino Bashes Buffalo Posted by: Stefan Mychajliw, Reporter Created: 10/15/2004 8:40:01 PM Updated: 10/15/2004 9:42:29 PM When H.B.O.’s Inside the NFL kicked off its coverage concerning Week #5 in the National Football League, former Cincinnati Bengal Wide Receiver Chris Collinsworth defended Bills head coach Mike Mularkey. “Mike Mularkey is on the verge of beating almost any good team in the league,” said one of Inside the NFL’s co-hosts. Later in the broadcast, former Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver Chris Carter defended Drew Bledsoe during a “question and answer” session during a mock debate. “I don’t think Drew Bledsoe is over the hill. I’m more concerned with the offensive line,” said Carter. Then Dan Marino, who we remember fondly from his days as quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, decided to bash Buffalo and Bills fans. “What stadium has the meanest fans?” asked one member of the Inside the NFL staff during the football “debate”. “When I was playing in Buffalo, it was tough. Because they were, they had a great team, plus the fans. I mean that’s what they live for in Buffalo. Because truly, they don’t want to live there,” said Marino. You read it correctly. Marino said: “That’s what they (fans) live for in Buffalo (the Bills). Because truly, they don’t want to live there.” When told of Marino’s comments, many die-hard Bills fans at Tully’s Good Times on Niagara Falls Boulevard defended the Queen City as well as our football spirit. “That’s typical of a Miami player,” said Bills fan Jeff Nolte. “Bills fans are true. They’re the best in the league,” said Bills fan Rich Lowe. “I couldn’t think of any other place I’d rather live,” said Bills fan Debbie Beringer. “As a transplant from New York City, I think this is a great place to live. And I live in Williamsville now, and I just love this place,” said Sonia Prince. If you'd like to send HBO an email, just click here (http://www.hbo.com/apps/submitinfo/contactus/submit.do). 2. I just saw a report on KTVU (Fox) that Oracle C.E.O. Larry Elliston has contacted the NFL about buying an existing NFL team, and moving them to L.A. They are saying that the talks are preliminary, and no team has been specified. When I saw this, I immediately thought of the Bills. Does anyone else think that this could be the beginning groundwork to move the Bills? It better not be!!!
  3. I personally use the barter system. I walk into the store with my wife. Leave her there for about 3 hours with very happy salesmen (and sometimes women). Love my new 115" Flat Screen HDTV Plasma/LCD combo!!!!
  4. Yeah. Riiiiiiight! I've seen my A's lead, hmmm.... Yankees 2-0 Twins 2-0 Red Sox 2-0
  5. What is the processer speed?
  6. It's a Kerry political ad.

  11. I have a 22 month old baby daughter. She loves to run up to me when I come home from work, softball, etc., and give daddy a hug. Usually, I pick her right up. Today after coming home from watching the Bills at Willie McCovey's bar, and wearing my Bledsoe Jersey, when she ran up to me, I turned my back, immediately fell to the ground, and dropped my car keys and cell phone. She picked up my car keys and cell phone and ran them 70 yards the other way. Anyone have a guess what could have caused this to happen? I'm at a loss...
  12. http://www.readabet.com/index.php/home/article/5846 BUFFALO BILLS CAN SNAP PATRIOTS WINNING STREAK Buffalo Bills have not made the start they were hoping for losing their opening two games 13-10. A bye week followed and the extra time would have been welcome relief for the offence that has produced only two touchdowns. If Drew Bledsoe can find even a hint of form, Buffalo have a great chance of stringing a few victories together. The defence has lived up to expectations and done a great job while the offence has spluttered to a total of twenty points. Despite the dreadful start made by the Bills, New England Patriots may be still on their unbeaten streak but haven’t played well so far. Indianapolis should have taken the spoils in the season opener, while Arizona were not beaten by a huge margin. Where Buffalo can enjoy success against the Patriots is with their ground attack so long as the offensive line can open some holes for Travis Henry and backup Willis McGahee. The Patriots have not looked great against the run so far with Edgerrin James in week 1 running all over the Super Bowl winners. Snapping the 17 game winning streak of New England is a tough ask for the Buffalo, but if the offence can show a little more bite and the defence continues to perform well, the AFC East division might look a little more interesting come Sunday night. The best price on Buffalo winning is 9/4, although the safer option is to stick with the generous 6.5pts start given by Bluesq. Ben Swift, readaBet.com
  13. Nice! This is a St. Helens webcam. Currently off-line, but they should have caught the initial euroption. http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/volcanocams/msh/
  14. MINNESOTA!!! One reason, that dammed Metrodome! RedSox? If the A's bat's wake up, and the pitching suddenly comes together, close series. Yankees? If the A's bat's wake up, and the pitching suddenly comes together, A's win in 4. If the A's bat's dont wake up, and the pitching stays status quo, same old, same old...
  15. Mecir, Rhodes, Rincon, Hammond... The only one I have any sense of faith in is Bradford.
  16. Chavez could have signed for an easy $16 to $20 Million per year. He signed with Oakland for $11 Million per. It's more about being where you're comfortable than going somewhere for the big money. (Reference Jason Giambi.)
  17. Man. Am I pipin' the A's today, or what?! Mark Kotsay is playing with a severly stressed knee. No ligament damage, but it is incredibly sore. You see him run, and you can tell that he's in terrible pain. Yet he's probably the A's best player this month.
  18. Not necessarily true. Mulder, Hudson, and Zito all have said, that if the A's let Chavez go, they will follow. Chavez is now signed through the 2010 season. Even if the Big 3 do go, you now have Rich Harden who in reality, is the A's best pitcher right now. You have Joe Blanton, who tore up AAA this year, and impressed relieving Mulder against the Angels. Justin Lehr can be a very capable pitcher in the majors. Justin Duchscherer who is the long reliever, can be a good 4th or 5th Starter. That is with the assumption that all of the Big 3 will leave. That simply is not true. Hudson, Mulder, and Zito all want to stay. They all won't. My belief is that Hudson will stay for his entire career, Mulder might get some heavy interest, and that might price him out of the A's range. Zito I think really wants to go back to So Cal, and may be a great fit for the Dodgers. Hudson, Mulder or Zito, Harden, Blanton, Lehr. That's really not a bad starting rotation.
  19. If he gets elected, No one can ever accuse him of breaking a campaign promise, for the simple fact he hasn't promised anything. You can look at it in two ways: 1 - You don't know what you're getting for the simple fact he isn't saying exactly what he's going to do. The fear of the great unknown. 2 - He isn't predicting what he will do, because he has the foresight to realize that situations can drastically change between now and then. Either way you look at it, it's actually very refreshing to see someone with the knowledge of flexibility.
  20. 27 years ago, I was an annoying 10 year old. Now, I'm an annoying 37 year old! #89, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
  21. A divisional winner cannot face the wild card winner in the ALDS if both teams are in the same division. In 2002, standings would have dictated that the A's would face the Angles, but because both teams are in the AL West, the Angles faced the Yankees and the A's faced the Angles. I can't remember exactly where, but if the A's (thinking very positively) win 2 of 3, and if Cleveland wins 2 of 3 against Minnesota, Oakland gets the home field advantage against the Red Sox because Oakland is the division winner (although the Red Sox will have the better record). The Yanks get Minnesota. I know I could be wrong, but I think that's how it stands.
  22. This is very true! He delivered when we needed him this past week. Tejada did it on a more consistant basis. Crosby I can see, developing into the exact same type of role.
  23. Oh. Don't get me wrong. I wasn't banging to get him on the list. When he won it in 2002, He did have great numbers, but I can very vivdly remember him hitting a home run 2 sections over from me to win #18 of the A's 20 Game Streak. Tejada that year had many, many game winning hits. IMHO, Crosby may be a better defensive SS over Tejada right now, but it was Tejada's bat and his clutch hits that has the A's battling the Angles for the AL West this weekend. The game winning hits haven't come as much for the A's this year. That and the Big 3 turning into the sub-par 3 this month. Thank God for Harden!
  24. A new name, Colin Cowhead appeard, so I clicked on his website page, and found this little gem... WTF? Seattle is playing great baseball! Probably the best baseball in the AL West right now! Seattle has taken 2 out of 3 or has split against Oakland, Anaheim, and Texas! This quote speaks of another sports talk host who doesn't have a frickin' clue!
