  1. My wife and I have been with Geico for the past 7 years. Don't have any complaints about them. The two glass claims I had to file went smoothly and had no affect on my premium. We're in the same boat as you, no accidents/claims (other than the glass) or tickets. I've heard you really only save with them if you are a low risk customer, otherwise they're priced equal or greater as other companies.

I shop my policy every couple of years and have yet to find lower for equivalent coverage.

  2. I have tickets for tonight's game and I'm wondering if there is a place to park where I won't have to worry about my vehicle being puked on, kicked, punched or !@#$ed with any manner. Location and price aren't really a factor. Scott, sorry about posting this in this forum, I'm just looking for a quick answer as I have to leave in an hour.

  3. Why was Johnson's play reviewed and not every other shot in the tourney? Why did he come under such scrutiny? Because he was near the lead and/or leading? That doesn't seem equitable. If they are going review his and call him out on it... Review every shot in the tourney... I am sure many strokes would get added on to player's scores. Why does the burden solely fall on the leaders?

To add to what links said, there is always someone watching these guys on the course that knows the rules. Whether it be the playing partner, other caddie, someone in the crowd, a rules violation generally isn't going to be missed. While there may be more eyes on the leader on Sunday, even the last place guy would probably have been penalized for the same shot.

Golf is a gentlemens game, the players call a rules violation on themselves more often then they have one called on them.

  4. The reasoning, I think, is that the penalty for hitting into a hazard is not being able to judge the nature and consistency of the hazard, so a little guess work has to go into any sand-shot.

That, and you could improve your lie by grounding the club. Say the ball is buried in the sand and you repeatedly ground your club behind the ball moving the sand away. You've just made the shot easier by removing the sand.

  5. These young guys have to actually win one first though. What I see now is a bunch of guys who don't have a clue how to finish. Sure, that should happen at some point, but the tour is full of guys that we're still waiting to see their first win, whether it's a younger guy like Sergio or one of the now old timers like Montgomery.

The difference I've seen so far is a lot of these guys have more complete games and don't have the fragile psyche of the likes of Sergio. Time will tell.

  6. There's also a young Japanese player (I think 19) named Ryo Ishikawa who will be contending for majors for a long long time.

Everyone's bemoaning the downfall of Tiger, but this might be the most exciting golf has ever been since Tiger first arrived IMO.

What will really be fun, is if in 2-3 years all of these young hotshots start to mature and Tiger gets his game back. Would make for some great battles at the majors.

  7. Apparently they told the players that bunkers outside of the ropes would be considered 'live' bunkers, so they had to make the ruling they did. You can't really control the gallery outside the ropes, so there you go.

It seems a little crazy, but my guess they wanted didn't want to limit the impact of the links style to just the area inside the ropes.

That last hole in the playoff was pretty wild too.

I've been a Bubba fan for years, sucks that he had to hit such a poor shot.

Golf is going to be fun to watch for a long time, lots of good young players. Rory Mcilroy is going to net about 5 majors in his career.

  8. I have no problem with it being called a bunker, but if that's what it is, keep the damn fans out of it for the entire week.

Look at the course on google earth. Keep the fans out of the bunkers and there are not many places left for the gallery to go. I doubt they want the fans in the bunkers, but it also needs to be a fan friendly tournament. All players had to play out of them if they hit a bad enough shot, so every player is on a common ground.

  9. Sucks, yes....screwjob, no, it was a bunker. Rules are rules and these guys know them. This type of situation was specifically pointed out to all of the golfers.

I called the grounded club right when he hit the shot.

  10. So, have a nice covered porch on the back of my house where i watch all the games etc. Not screened in or anything. Thursday night someone stole the TV I had out there. Good thing I guess was I was already looking at getting a bigger one, this was a 4 year old 32 inch Westinghouse.

But, I am going to be putting prolly a 42 or 46 inch out there, but looking for ideas on how to lock it down. It sits on a an old blanket chest that also has the D* receiver and a/v reciever on it(they left those).

    Any Ideas?

What about one of those steel cables they attach to computer equipment?

  11. Not an inside joke. He actually stated that he thought I, as Paul's friend, killed him...via not stopping him.

I might be over-stating it (because let's face it, I was pissed as hell at the accusation, enough to lose objectivity). But not by much; others know of the exchange and can attest.

    You're not over-stating it.

  12. Why is Woods a news item at this point?

Why wouldn't he be? It's the middle of golf season.

My question would be why was Woods a news item last November, but I already know the answer is because Americans love celebrity voyeurism.

  13. Yes...the same argument we heard about how PED's had nothing to do with being able to hit a baseball...

You're comparing a stroke that takes zero power with hitting a basball 350 feet? Sure, PED's don't help you connect with the ball, but they'll help put it over the fence when you do.

My 85 year old grandfather can still sink 10-20 foot putts with relative ease, but I don't see him knocking one out of Fenway.
