There is something so strange about this board
Pitta replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It absolutely won't be. And that's a good thing: either way. 5-11 or 11-5; that's what you're going to get this year. We either get a team of young studs that carry us for another decade or we get the REAL rebuild we've so desperately wanted since 2001. -
i lol'd at the idea of the Buffalo Bills having "swagger"

This team is not very good. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it is very not good. -

People keep bringing up Gruden as the next potential coach of the Bills. I understand Jon, but Gruden? are you serious? That would set us back another 5 years... Just because he's famous for scowling on the sidelines and being nicknamed "Chucky" doesn't make him a good coach. He beat his own players after he got to Tampa. Who Built that team? Not him..... I want Marty. Is he old.? yes. Does he build winners? yes. Does he have a history? yes. Does he have Bills ties? yes. Has SD been the same since he left? NO. Has he won in the playoffs? no..... Can you blame Byner fumbling on the goal line on him? no. I'm just saying Marty is our best bet. Has the game passed him by? Ask Joe Paterno. Ask Bobby Bowden. Come on folks. Football is blocking and tackling. Everything else is about how to put your players in a situation to do that best.....It's not brain surgery

List of Bills draft picks still in the NFL
Pitta replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm confused about the entire premise. You don't count the draft picks that worked to the point that the team kept them...and are only basing it on picks who stuck with other teams? I don't even know what that would mean if the number was high or low. You've thrown out the most important aspect. -
Trent Edwards was surprised by the firing of offensive coordinator Turk Schonert, but the Buffalo Bills' quarterback was far from being upset about it. There were rumors of some friction between Edwards and Schonert, but Edwards said the bigger issue was the state of the offense. He revealed Sunday that he and other players took their concerns to head coach Dick Jauron. "We had voiced some things with what direction it was going and where it needed to go, and Coach Jauron made the decision on how he felt and what he felt the offense needed best," Edwards said after practice Sunday. "And that's the decision he made and that's something he decided and that's something I need to respect." Jauron cited "a lack of productivity" on offense as the reason he let Schonert go. Edwards agreed things were not going smoothly. http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/787262.html

What one Philly reporter thinks of the Bills
Pitta replied to Max997's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Out driving yesterday I heard two radio personalities say the same thing. They are predicting the Bills to go 3 - 13. It seems the decision to retain Jauron continues to snowball in the wrong direction. I think the Bills train wrecked a long time ago.. Dick Jauron is still trying to figure out how to drive in a railroad spike. -

Maybe Jauron thought the offense should be simplified until sufficient execution could be proven as a foundation or stable base from which to systematically layer in additional complexities?? and Turk maybe wanted to add complexity on a week foundation which obviously wont be successful? It's possible Turk's system would work with his talent, but he wasn't a good enough teacher to get his schemes installed or the repetitions were lacking to get the synronization and execution where it needed to be to be successful. Either way, since jauron has a defensive background, how did he not know when he is looking at an offense that sucks and cant execute? From a defensive standpoint he studied offenses his whole life and as a player played defense in the NFL! How do you not figure this out until now one week before the start of the season when you're there at practice everyday? He must be clueless. The incompetency is mindboggling.

As much as we can say it will never happen this is the NFL and any given Sunday teams can win. I'm just really hoping they are playing like this on purpose and plan on breaking out a whole new gameplan the Pats arent ready for ala the Dolphins wildcat last year. Crazier things have happened and we could all be eating crow come Sept 15.

You are a very good bills fan. So are all of us. This product is unacceptable. Even if we catch lightening in a bottle (and we won't, QUOTE ME ON THAT), it's just dumb sh-- luck. we're badly run and none of us should accept that. There's something about that charging buffalo that gets my blood moving. When that same passion is not shared by those running the organization, it makes me very angry. Yes, it's just a game in the cosmic sense, but on a more tangible level it's the pride of a region. I for one am sick of squandering that pride on cheapness and ignorance. This bills fan has truly had enough. This product sucks ass and i'm not buying it anymore. They have 8 games or so to prove me wrong before i become a complete and total negative nancy, but i think i've heard this song before... -

Ridiculous thing to think about. Maybe they think that the defense won't be ready if they don't practice the schemes they intend to use, which is the 4-3...that's the only thing I can think as a reason why the offense doesn't practice against the 3-4. That's no excuse to not practice against it, but we are talking about the Bills here. I remember the last time the Bills made the playoffs...I didn't have ANY grey hair then. We were one of only a couple teams using the 3-4, I believe. We were also the #1 rated defense in the league that year. Now the 3-4 is all the rage, and the Bills seem to have no idea how to react to it...not the first clue. Everyone in our division uses it, for crying out loud. It should be near the top of their list of things to focus on offensively, yet Chris Brown says that he's NEVER seen the Bills defense using it in practice. It's too late now, but maybe the Bills should switch to a 3-4 next year. They should be using it in practice A LOT though. How else is the offense going to get better against it? Wait till the real games?

I hope Jauron & company proves everyone wrong and makes the playoffs. But if somehow he doesn't, I could sell a guy like Cowher on the Bills job in a hour. I would just tell him how great of a blue collar family town this is, how much the Bills mean to this community, the young talent, control over personnel, have Jimbo & Thurman talked to him, show the Norwood rally, and say he could literally save the Bills from moving. He could be a hero here. He's probably pay to coach after that speech.

Per Jerry Sullivan on WGR55 he said the Bills practiced more dump off passes for most of practice??? WTF IS GOING ON???? I mean is this all they do is practice dump off passes for 2 yards?? Can someone tell Jauron we need 10 yards to get a first down not 6!! Can someone also tell Jauron that the field is very big and wide and it's okay to practice maybe throwing the ball far. I don't know if it's Dick or Turk calling these plays but how about a little creativity and some vertical passing

..that's Jaworski describing Rex Ryans Jets. How would you describe Jaurons Bills ?
