They have won 2 in a row, we have lost 2 in a row. The bigger issue who knows what the OL will look like Wood is out a week or more, if hariston or bell arent ready it will be a long day for the bills.
Three weeks ago I was thinking this one was a lock for the Bills. Now I'm not so sure either, a lot has changed. One thing is for sure we NEED this win. I figure it will be a close game, and am keeping my fingers crossed that we can shake off this funk. 6-4 would feel ok, 5-5 (after being 5-2) would suck.

That's a decision you make in a video game, not in OT against a division foe in reality. Smith is going to be torched for that one, and he rightly should. Furthermore, he basically shows zero faith in his defense by going that route.
Agreed. They had just stopped the Saints on the prior possession, but now they lack all confidence that they could possibly do that again? You punt it to them, you've got plenty of field to get your needed stop. Maybe you don't and they score, that's the risk, but you likely get several chances for stops. Instead, you gamble it all on one play, because if you don't get the first - you hand them the win with a big bow-tie on top. Bone-head move.

I wonder if the lockout inactivity gave our offense an advantage on defenses early season. The opponents have definitely figured out how to defend it now. And yes, our defense is painful to watch.
I think your right. Which gave offense an advantage over defenses early. Makes for very tough sledding for the Bills from here out.

How about a not too hefty contract just for this year? He plays like a wild man in only one game, and that's against NE at the end of the year when we need the win to get into the playoffs. Sounds crazy but it might be just the little boost we need.

Until we beat them, I consider them better than us, just like the Patriots.

I agree too. Which is why I think our first (home) game against the Jets is HUGE. I hate to call anything a "must win" game this early in the season but it's feeling like it's appropriate for that one.

I love what we've accomplished so far. It's actually fun to be a Bills fan again this year.
My worry is that it looks like we might be heading to 9-7.
Logic? We've won all our home games, and lost all the road games but one (and that was to an obviously weak KC team). If we keep this up we could win all 5 home games and lose all 5 road games for the 9-7 tally.
Home games: Redskins, Jets, Titans, Dolphins, Broncos. It's likely we win all these, with the biggest question mark being the Jets. That's a measuring stick game as far as the division goes.
Away games: Cowboys, Dolphins, Jets, Chargers, Patriots. All could be very tough to beat at home - with the exception of the Dolphins.
I am HOPING we can pull out the sweep against the Dolphins, and finish up a nice even 10-6. But 9-7 and missing by a slender margin is a frightening scenario - one that could make us look back at the close Cinci and Giants losses with that familiar wistful "if only..." refrain.

You people asking for a "decisive win" are absurd. There aren't any style points in the NFL. Stop your belly-aching and enjoy the ride.
I agree. Would it be nice if we could roll over good teams, and have awesome offensive yards/points with little yards given up and some shut outs? Sure, but we all knew we were nowhere near that going in. The Bills are 4-1, they're learning to win the kind of games they'd have lost last year.

To me, he's great because he's NOT tentative. He scans the field and makes decisions pretty quickly.

Don't worry everyone will talk about how we got lucky on ESPN and CBS and whatever.
We are the underdogs every sunday. Let's keep that and let our opponents fear it.
Yeah, it'll all be about Brady had a bad day, thus we won. Whatever, the Bills now know they can beat anyone! Hopefully we just keep getting better - winning is infectious...

The Bills are free rollin` this week. They have exceeded my expectations beyond would I could imagine to this point. If they lose to the Pats, I can't get down on them, even in a blow out.
They have vastly exceeded all of our expectations. If that continues this week and they pull out a win, there's going to be a lot of Bills fans that need to be peeled off the ceiling. I am just feeling great that we have a very competitive team that seems to be well coached, and is playing with real heart. Twenty Five second half first downs. Wow...

I was so pissed about the change to Johnson at the last minute and the game outcome that I wrote Wade Phillips a rant letter the next day. Never did that before or since.

The last one I remebber was 31-0 against the Cheatriats back when we got Lawyer Milloy from them.

Well apparantly we can't. Defense is looking sad but the O is looking even worse. Pathetic. So glad we signed Fits to the contract, man he's just been superlative these last 3 games. LOL.
