  1. Some days the balls bounce your way. Time for defense to show they can keep it up.
  2. Damn, I am stoked. We took their first hard blow (knew they'd come out strong) and we have been stout ever since. We got us a game boys!!!!!
  3. I dug this up, but no real pattern emerges, other than the Cowboys have not dominated... Thanksgiving games, last 8 years: Cowboys record: 4-4 Cowboys when at home the week prior: 1-2 Cowboys when away the week prior: 3-2 Opponents when at home the week prior: 3-4 Opponents when away the week prior: 1-0
  4. There is a lot of pressure on both teams for this game. Dallas is taking heat from their fans, their coach is taking heat for play calling, and they're all pissed off about being robbed by the refs. Plus they NEED the win to stay in first place. Buffalo needs to prove they can beat a team with a winning record, that they don't wilt under the national spotlight, and needs the win because they have some even tougher games ahead. I'm guessing the Cowboys punch us in the mouth early as they will be pumped. We need to survive that early pressure, stay calm, and show our moxie. I like our chances!
  5. Does anyone know what this weeks plans are for the Bills? I'm thinking they fly to Dallas Wednesday am, in time to get some practice in there Wed pm. What about today and Tuesday - do they practice both days, use one for film review and game planning? I thought Monday's were always "days off" but am not sure.
  6. Congratulations to Frank Gore! I'm glad he's a Bill - he's been a warrior, and today marks a great accomplishment!
  7. True.... but, we'll be flying there later, while they've been home awhile and won't have to go anywhere. Not sure either team got a bigger break on that aspect.
  8. Psychologists say that the biggest hurts create more lasting damage, and makes us risk averse. In this case it's happening so we just gotta hope and believe that the past has absolutely nothing to do with the present. That being said, winning a game in their stadium as underdogs would help ease that old pain you referred to quite a bit.
  9. I'll have some large glasses of other drinks, but like you will be pulling for the Bills to pull off the upsets!
  10. My worry for the Bills is - they ran the ball down NE's throat. And NE has a damn good defense. Ours has been good, but against a really good running game, not so much.
  11. So you can't believe the Cowboys lost to NE, in NE? Yet everyone here has already written off the Bills-NE game (in NE) as a sure loss for the Bills. That SEEMS like what you are saying in a round about way is that the Cowboys are much better than the Bills, and if that is assumed to be true - we should have no chance against Dallas at home.
  12. It's not going to be easy at Dallas this Thursday. They'll be taking heat for their play/decisions. Also, for a while they were just stuffing the ball down NE's throat with the run. Not sure why they backed off of that. We better be sharp in all phases.
  13. I've been to six Bills games in my life and we lost everyone of them. 1 in Tampa Bay, 80's, 1 in Atlanta 2001 lost on a 52 yard last minute FG, 1 when Rich stadium first opened- with OJ playing when I was quite young, and then 3 more there. Thinking of flying up for this one to see a win!
  14. I'm not an expert - like some here ?- on quarterbacks and coaches, but I do know that having new ones every two or three years has not worked out very well for us. I'm glad we got Josh Allen, and think with some additional bolstering of talent in the off season we'll improve even more next year. I think some people get totally bent out of shape after losses because (gasp) we might miss the playoffs... We're not ready to go deep in the playoffs this year anyway, so it really doesn't matter all that much. I'm in it for the long haul and am pretty optimistic on where we're headed. Go Bills!
  15. No doubt he's been overthrowing them. But as others have mentioned I think he's had it drilled into his head that we need to be a ball control type of offense with very few turnovers. So he's probably overly concerned with not throwing the ball deep enough which could give the defender a chance to pick it off. We have a catch-22 situation. The only way Josh is going to get comfortable and accurate on deep throws is throwing a lot of them in game situations i.e. - working on the long ball. But in the short term that would mean a likelihood of a lot of stalled drives and/or increased potential for interceptions - if he starts throwing them close to the receiver. While we are in the playoff hunt (despite the fact that if we make it we aren't going anywhere) fans will crucify him for any of that if it costs us wins. I think the bottom line is for now he should have no more than one deep throw per game unless/until we are eliminated from the playoffs. If we are, we should take the shackles off and release the Kracken. If he gets a lot of opportunities to throw deep without the "don't cost us the playoffs" pressure, and still doesn't improve, well then we know what we have. And frankly, I'm pretty happy with him without the deep ball, if it comes to that.
  16. I can appreciate that perspective, because I think his arm strength was largely what got him here. BUT - he's been wildly inaccurate there so far. So I think it is best to not have him heave it more than once per game - for now, at least until/unless we are eliminated from the playoffs. Thereafter - bombs away. But for now you just can't give up 3 drives in a game hoping he'll start getting it right. There is too much on the line right now.
  17. It's obvious he's had a problem with the long balls. Most often he overthrows, seem like he feels he has to really heave it - but his arm is so strong he overthrows. Frankly, I don't know if that ever gets better BUT, given that's the case, and he's hitting pretty good on shorter to intermediate - WHY did we keep calling those drive ending long balls? It frustrated the hell out of me. Any one of those that didn't kill the drive might have ended up in a score. The OC needs to understand his QB's strengths. Despite the cannon arm, the long ball is not one of Allen's. Dabolls refusal to acknowledge that hurt us.
