The problem of the "letting them play" is that for years prior they called everything to favor the offense.

And when it shifts in the most important games to just "let them play" I think that is extremely BS.

Be consistent. Call it even in pre-season, regular season, and post season.  The refs conscious effort to call penalties more or less should never be a factor.  If they see it, they call it based on the rules.  That should be it.

That is the issue.  It's not really a level playing field if the Chiefs defense can mug the Bills receivers all game in the AFC championship and get away with it, then they decide to call them like they should be calling them tonight.

  2. I'll be watching with interest to see if the Bucs defense can find a way to slow down Mahomes and Co.  Many people here saying you can't slow them down, so your only way to beat them is with an offense that can keep up with them.  I'm skeptical of that - it would imply a need to be virtually perfect on offense.  I am still optimistic that a well schemed defense with talent can slow down the high power offenses.  The Bucs defense isn't the highest ranked, by a long shot, but they've been playing pretty damn good in the playoffs.   IF they can bother/affect Mahomes, that will be something to take into consideration as we think about what the Bills highest priority needs are.

As for the Brady hate - I would much rather see the Chiefs go down in the Super Bowl.  Brady's days are numbered, I really don't care if he gets another ring.

It’s 2021. No defense is stopping KC’s offense. You have to be able to keep up with them. Give me an offensive weapon any day. You can get by with an above average defense.

I'm very interested in seeing if Tampa Bay can slow them down or not.  They did a good job on the Packers.   If a defense can slow them, it may make the "no one can stop them" argument lose a little merit.  We shall soon see - there might be more than one way to skin the cat.

KC is way better than they were last year. They are to the "regular season is boring" phase now. KC is going to be a problem for quite a while.

We have a long, long way to go. But this season was an amazing ride!

Maybe they'll get so bored they'll lose a few games next year, and we can take the number one seed 😄

  5. I think it will be very interesting to see if the Bucs can find a way to beat the Chiefs or at least significantly slow their offensive fireworks.  If they do - start figuring out how to copy that.  Also, what is with all the Andy Reid coaching genius love?  Sure he won one Super Bowl, but he also got his team into the playoffs lots of times and couldn't get there, and to 5 NFC championship teams, but his record in those was 1-4.  If we end up 1-4 in AFC championship games with McDermott, is he going to go down as a genius?  Fans here would be roasting him alive.

I would rather this defense get aggressive and get some pressure.  If they give up the big play so be it.  KC is too good and wont make those mistakes.  They will get 8-10 yard plays every play.  Another thing they need to press these receivers.  Especially Kelce.  Stop letting them go clean.

I agree, we need to TRY to take Mahomes out of his game.  But he might burn us bad.  Has any team had success blitzing Mahomes?  I thought I saw a stat that he did really well when blitzed.

Just be prepared if the Bills win this game the talking heads will discuss not how the Bills won the game, but how KC lost.  After the Ravens game I heard little complimentary about the Bills.  All I heard was Lamar Jackson's shortcomings.  In fact they even mentioned how the Ravens D held the Bills to only 10 points.  Nothing was mentioned of how the Bills D held the Ravens to only 3.  They mentioned how Tucker missed two FGs..."likely impacted by the wind."  I guess when Bass missed his two kicks the winds were suddenly calmed.

I still don't care what the talking heads say before or after.  Not sure why it bothers people.  The negative talk actually probably helps inspire the Bills.

This is where I am at. I really don’t like a lot of those chiefs players. But Mahomes is great.

this may not happen, but it would be great to have his status determined and hopefully confirmed ASAP.  I think the uncertainty over his condition is going to just detract from the run-up to what should be a great game.

I'm fine with all the attention being on Mahomes.   I think we all know he's going to play, and the Bills will be preparing for him.
