Dr. K I think he was responding to my post just above, where I said "I'm proud of the way our team played. The defense was getting pounded into all night and did not give up. The offense tried valiantly to make something happen in the crazy wind. Yes, there were mistakes - but just one or two breaks going our way instead of theirs and we'd have taken back 1st in the East and been the ones getting the glory." Maybe I'm the only one who's proud, but in my eyes in that game they played with great heart under horrible conditions - conditions that were very heavily stacked against them.

We got beat by 4 points by the league's hottest team. And the sky is falling? New England's strength is their ground game, which the hellacious wind had no effect on. Out strength is the passing game, which the wind definitely impacted. The fact that we lost in those conditions wasn't surprising to me. I'm proud of the way our team played. Yes, there were mistakes - but just one or two breaks going our way instead of theirs and we'd have taken back 1st in the East and been the ones getting the glory. I just don't get so many saying we were humiliated by the great Patriots - the bottom line is the conditions drastically favored them. You can talk all you want about how horrible we are because we don't have as good of a running game as we all want, but it does not mean we are out of this. That was a really rare crazy windy night, not something I expect to see again any time soon, certainly not in any more of our games this year. I think the Bills will use all this as motivation and give them a nice payback in New England (like they did KC in KC). Go Bills!

We lost by 4 points to the hottest team in the NFL. A team that like us has a great defense. A huge part of their game is the rushing attack - which the horrific wind had no effect on. A huge part of our game is the passing attack - which the wind impacted significantly. When you add that up I'm not surprised by the loss, nor disheartened by it. I thought our defense actually played pretty tough (outside of the one big 60-65 yard run), and I was proud that they did not quit, despite being pounded into all night. Don't lose heart fellow fans - we are not out of this. Go Bills! "Adversity is an opportunity for heroism" - Marv Levy

Around the NFL This Sunday 11/28 (Bills mini-bye)
Georgia Bill replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought if we split with NE and end up in a tie with them, (assuming we beat the Jets), we would win the division (due to their loss to Miami). It is division record not conference record, that is used as the tiebreaker for the division. -
11/21 Colts at Bills, Postgame Postmortem Thread
Georgia Bill replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
When players don't take all the steps necessary to protect themselves as much as possible against illness and then miss games because of it, I think the fans and their team mates have a right to be mad about it. I remember when Bruce Smith got the flu and missed the playoff game at Pittsburg after not getting the flu shot that year. What a gut punch! Injuries on the field are not something that can be eradicated, but this type of thing is avoidable. -

What team scares you the most?
Georgia Bill replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bucs. I worry that if we beat them in the regular season and then met them in the Super Bowl we'd lose, because the odds of beating them twice in one season are mighty low. We don't have that concern with any of the other NFC contenders. In the AFC, as the weeks go by I'm starting to get concerned about the damn Patriots. Mostly because we have to play them twice, and if we met in the playoffs that would be three times. They seem to be getting stronger and stronger. -

I guess the Bills figured, based upon past experience with the Fins, this was an automatic W -

Exactly. It says we are afraid we can't beat you in the 5th quarter. Play scared - lose. -
stupid call. Kick the damn ball and win in OT. Daboll got greedy.
-
Frankly, I don't think you beat the Bucs twice in a season. So I'd be quite happy to lose the first one in a squeaker, end up 15-2 with home field, and beat them again about a month and a half later 😄

The rotation worked great last night. At first after seeing KC hold the ball a long time and us scoring much quicker I got the old "crap, they're going to wear us down and by Q4 the D will be spent" concern. NOT! They were looking really fresh even near the end, still swarming. I like a great D even more than a great O, and am loving what I'm seeing from this unit so far - fun to watch!

Wow that SUCKS! Here in Atlanta I've been looking forward to watching the Bills - Chiefs on my man cave big screen TV for weeks (the only Bills game that's aired locally so far), and at the last minute Dish shuts off NBC. Just found out this morning - WTF!!! I guess I'll have to go see if I can get Peacock Premium loaded on the TV. What an unexpected disappointment and pain in the ass! Dish did this BS previously with AMC, then HBO. I understand that they're saying the company that provides the locals is trying to rape them with an outrageous increase in fees, but it looks like Dish's policy in such cases is always the same - we'll play hardball and just shut off the programming to our subscribers, and blame it on "the other side". Me thinks that is not a winning strategy with their customer base.

Highmark Stadium now requiring vaccination for entry
Georgia Bill replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
In the US we have 660,000 deaths among 41 million Covid cases, or 1 death for about every 62 cases. Hell, assume that number of cases is way underestimated, assume it was among 160 million cases - that's still 1 death for about every 240 cases. The mortality rate is not "so low". If 1 out of even 1000 died from just getting vaccinated, we'd have had 180,000 deaths due to vaccination by now (180 million fully vaccinated). That's not the kind of thing that just gets covered up/not reported. The real numbers that have died due to vaccination are immensely lower than that. Then again the types of people who believe in conspiracies could probably be convinced to believe just about anything. For what? To suggest it is "safer" to not be vaccinated than to be vaccinated is simply a ridiculous argument. -

Same with Dan Fouts and the Chargers. You can have a great passing attack, but need to have some balance. -
I took a look at the Chiefs forum on JJ Watt. It looks just like this one, including the photoshopped picture of him in a Chiefs jersey, the claims he's past his prime, the claims he'd make the D better, that it would be good to get him if the price was right (due to cap issues), and that if he's chasing a ring this would be a great place to land. Swap "Bills" for "Chiefs" and it all reads the same 😄

Would the Bills have beaten the Bucs?
Georgia Bill replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, you're right on that second bullet - the Bills have had pretty good success against Brady and Gronk - that would have surely worked to our advantage -
I agree, if we had gone to the SB and lost it would have been devastating, adding another chapter onto to a painful legacy. It is VERY important that this team WINS it's first trip to the SB, otherwise all the "same old Bills" crap will come out, "O-fer", the "curse" talk, etc. Can't have any of that...
