I'm sure someone will disagree but I thought the beef on weck in the stadium was pretty good

There's a Charlie's the Butcher location very close to the airport.  I highly recommend their beef on weck.  When I visited Buffalo in October with my adult son (his first visit) we ate there just after landing and went back for more just before departing.  He also loved their polish sausage.

I'm not the only one who commented on his mediocre play. At halftime,  Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson, Howie Long, etc... showed several clips of Allen's poor play. I guess we see what we wanna see.

Yeah, it's the in thing to do these days, talk down the Bills and Allen.  Lots of talk on the shows about not knowing if they can "trust" the Bills due to inconsistency.  Whatever.  Only one thing shuts people up and that's winning.  I suspect if we beat New England and win out to take the division, they'll still be talking about the inconsistency during a playoff run too.  It's become the media's mantra about the Bills.

I wonder if McDermott will finally give Josh some credit or he'll give us the BS about we needed to take advantage of our opportunities better?

His ***** defense needs to step up FFS

Both the defense and the offense stepped up in the second half.  We outscored them 24-3.  That's poor defense?  Sure the first half sucked, but on a long shot we ended up playing Tampa in the Super Bowl, I wouldn't be afraid.  We can go toe to toe with them.

In my opinion this is about as close to a crossroads game as we have seen in years.

While mathematically Buffalo is still ok with a loss the tone of the players and McDermott after last weeks loss feels (at least to me) like another loss this week and we start to see the wheels come off for this season. I would have to think that the defense is a little tired of losing games this year when they give up 14 points or 9 points. That shouldn't happen when you have Josh Allen at QB. Diggs at WR.

A win here and maybe they pull together and claw their way to a division title. A loss here puts them 2 full games behind New England. I know the feeling amoung many fans will be "Same old Bills" and it's fair to wonder if a loss would have players thinking "here we got again".

Don't get it twisted...this game is huge for the Bills both in the standings and for their psyche. Let's hope for the best! Go Bills!

I agree, this game is huge.  A win will build confidence and a loss will sow self-doubt - at a very critical juncture in the season.  Shut up the critics today- Go Bills!

Where did I say I was "proud" of that game? What I said was, "I'm not saying that The Bills don't have problems, or don't have to address them. But the prevailing wisdom about this game, the way it is being characterized, at least in its immediate aftermath, is not much more than noise."

Dr. K I think he was responding to my post just above, where I said "I'm proud of the way our team played.  The defense was getting pounded into all night and did not give up.  The offense tried valiantly to make something happen in the crazy wind.  Yes, there were mistakes - but just one or two breaks going our way instead of theirs and we'd have taken back 1st in the East and been the ones getting the glory."

You're proud? Really? I don't know what to say to that.

You may be the only one. I doubt you'll find a single Bill proud of the team's performance here. They're not closing the curtain on the season. Nor should they. But that was an awful thing to watch, and I'm sure it felt just as bad to play in.

Close but no cigar is not a team motto that will see a lot of play in ad campaigns, and for good reason.

They need to cut the inconsistency and they need to play better. Pronto.

Maybe I'm the only one who's proud, but in my eyes in that game they played with great heart under horrible conditions - conditions that were very heavily stacked against them.

  6. We got beat by 4 points by the league's hottest team.   And the sky is falling?  New England's strength is their ground game, which the hellacious wind had no effect on.  Out strength is the passing game, which the wind definitely impacted.  The fact that we lost in those conditions wasn't surprising to me.

I just don't get so many saying we were humiliated by the great Patriots - the bottom line is the conditions drastically favored them.  You can talk all you want about how horrible we are because we don't have as good of a running game as we all want, but it does not mean we are out of this.  That was a really rare crazy windy night, not something I expect to see again any time soon, certainly not in any more of our games this year.

I think the Bills will use all this as motivation and give them a nice payback in New England (like they did KC in KC).  Go Bills!

  7. We lost by 4 points to the hottest team in the NFL.  A team that like us has a great defense.  A huge part of their game is the rushing attack - which the horrific wind had no effect on.  A huge part of our game is the passing attack - which the wind impacted significantly.  When you add that up I'm not surprised by the loss, nor disheartened by it.  I thought our defense actually played pretty tough (outside of the one big 60-65 yard run), and I was proud that they did not quit, despite being pounded into all night.   Don't lose heart fellow fans - we are not out of this.  Go Bills!

Agree. The way I see our season there are three all but certs on the schedule:

    Jets

    Falcons

    Panthers

    Then three toughies:

    Patriots

    Buccs

    Patriots

10-7 probably gets us in as a wildcard. 11-6 (split with NE) definitely means a wildcard (they'd have the tiebreak on us via conference record so win the division).

To get in as a division winner I suspect we either have to sweep New England OR split with them and beat Tampa.

I thought if we split with NE and end up in a tie with them, (assuming we beat the Jets), we would win the division (due to their loss to Miami).  It is division record not conference record, that is used as the tiebreaker for the division.

  9. When players don't take all the steps necessary to protect themselves as much as possible against illness and then miss games because of it, I think the fans and their team mates have a right to be mad about it.  I remember when Bruce Smith got the flu and missed the playoff game at Pittsburg after not getting the flu shot that year.  What a gut punch!  Injuries on the field are not something that can be eradicated, but this type of thing is avoidable.
