Relax man - I'm positing a hypothetical, for one thing. Second, there WERE lots of rumors, and they were well-documented here and elsewhere. For example, there was an article where Mwelde Moore came out and said he'd never again play on the same team as Losman, because Losman was a horrible teammate and cared more about himself than winning, or something to that effect. I don't feel like digging it up for you, but I'm sure you can find it via Google.

Well, here you go, per KFFL:
Bills | Losman Has Maturity Problems
Thu, 30 Mar 2006 06:21:23 -0800
Larry Feltzer, of the Buffalo News, reports QB JP Losman (Bills) is a chronic bed-wetter, has all of the Austin Powers movies on DVD, and giggles whenever he hears the word "duty", in any context.
-
If that's the case then why does Modrak still have a job? Who the fug was in charge of investigating this stuff? These things didn't suddenly surface - there were plenty of rumors about JP's character in college. Someone should've done their homework before we traded away a #1 for this guy.
-
They would trade down a few spots, probably with a team looking to take Cutler (who will slip).

You had me until this. How on earth did Marv "muck up" the QB situation? By bringing in Nall, who has some potential (we can all agree on that, can't we?), to compete? What should Marv do/have done differently? Annointing either JP or Holcomb the starter would be a disaster, in my opinion, and would do nothing but alienate the team (JP) or the fanbase (Holcomb).

I just do not understand the paranoia around here. All this talk about "jettisoning a great football man" confounds me. Yes Donahoe is a good evaluator of talent. However, that was far from his only role as GM and PRESIDENT. He was responsible for running all aspects of the organization, not just evaluating personnel - in fact, most of the people who were charged with evaluating talent under Donahoe ARE STILL HERE. I'm not saying that's good or bad, I'm just saying that we're not likely to see major changes in that area.
It's the organizational decision making that is most affected by Donahoe leaving and Levy coming in. And, although I'll come right out and say I HAVE NO SOURCE WHATSOEVER, NOTHING BUT PURE SPECULATION, I got the sense over the last several years that something was wrong with the Bills as an organization - there was something about Donahoe's management style that rubbed people the wrong way, and cast a shadow of fear and paranoia over his employees. From someone who works in a team-like office setting, I can tell you that it makes a big difference when your "head guy" is a micromanaging egomaniac (not saying Donahoe is/was, but that is a perception some have). I am hopeful that Levy's managment style allows the rest of the organization to "breathe" a bit and gives it the freedom to function a bit more smoothly and cohesively. I'm not sure how that will translate to on the field performance, but I'm hopeful it will improve the overall product.

Aren't "game tapes" the coach's tapes? Sorry if I got that wrong, but I thought that's what he was saying.

Trade down and take Bunkley or Justice.

Actually, yes he does. Here is his website:

I am interested to see what happens when Moulds tries to negotiate a contract with the Texans/Eagles/whomever. I would be shocked if he gets what he's asking for (although I've been shocked before, see: Terry Glenn's contract). More likely, he'll be offered very close to what the Bills were offering. Not that that means he'll end up staying - I think it's clear he wants to leave, and he's boxed himself into a corner by his public statements to that effect. But now the onus is all on Moulds and his agent - the Bills have made it clear they're willing to take a draft pick. There's no way to blame anything on the Bills anymore. If he works out a contract with another team, they'll trade him. If he doesn't, it'll be because he overestimated his value - in which case, why would he want to be released?

I don't think Miller is the problem. The Sabres are making waaaaay to many stupid mistakes. Every single game (every period?) it seems like they leave a guy right in front of Miller uncovered, at a critical moment. Last night it was Jagr (Griere blew his assignment - he is becoming the new Schmelick). Then they took a horrible penalty at the end of regulation (Kotalik is becoming the new Zhitnik). They can't keep doing that stuff.

I can't even understand why we tried to retain him. He plays WAYYY to high, which is why he consistently and easily gets brushed out of the way by interior o-linemen using proper technique. Honestly I preferred Bannan to Edwards.

Walker was one of the top 5, if not top 3 receivers in the League before he got hurt. He is (was?) big, fast and explosive - reminded me a lot of Moulds in his earlier days, but plays even bigger.
The big question, as many have said, is what his physical condition is. My biggest fear is that one of two things happen: Walker plays lights-out, and we lose him, or Walker spends the year recovering his ACL on the Bills' dime and time, and we lose him. Neither of those scenarios are good. This has to be a very tricky trade, involving, first, a physical (obviously), second, performance-based compensation to the Packers (i.e., we don't throw in a high draft pick unless Walker plays a certain amount of snaps, etc.), and third, a performance-based contract extension to Walker to give us more than a one-year flyer on the guy.
If they can pull all of that off, they HAVE to do the deal.
BTW, if they don't, I bet the Patriots trade for Walker.

And Sherman was embarassingly stripped of his GM duties after making one bone-headed move after the next. If anything, your argument may tell us something about JP...
-
Not joking. Rodgers is a joke, yes that's my opinion but I've watched a fair amount of him and I really can't believe that a team would draft him in the first round and annoint him QB of the future. And I don't think Sherman was the one who pulled the trigger on that pick - if I recall correctly, he already had been stripped of his GM duties by then.
I'm not saying Nall is any good - I'm just saying the fact that the Packers weren't sold on him doesn't answer that question.
-
The fact that they drafted Rodgers at all completely undercuts your argument - they obviously have no clue what they are doing. That guy is an obvious bust, he will never amount to anything in the NFL and it's obvious from watching him on the field, in practice, and his demeanor on the sidelines.
-
It's from Bill Simmons a/k/a "The Sports Guy" - he said it a year ago.
-
He has 1 yr left on his deal. BEST case scenario, he plays lights-out and we lose him.

David Boston has a giant FORK sticking out of his back.

Maybe Mike Brown wants to add Adams and Arrington so that he doesn't have to pay a defensive coordinator...
