  1. They do not understand how to do this.
  2. So does Bob McGinn. I can't believe their owner is going to overrule the expensive, highly-hyped rebuilt scouting department.
  3. Is Haslam really going to do this AGAIN?
  4. Bob McGinn shakes things up with his mock: http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/mcginn/2017/04/26/mock-draft-bob-mcginns-projections/100929770/
  5. OMG this became a Tyrod thread??? Anyone have a silver bullet or some garlic?
  6. Aaron Donald 2.0. Nothing "stupid" about it.
  7. What's wrong with you man?
  8. They crapped the bed with the 2016 draft.
  9. To me, Whaley's biggest problem has been his inability to plan strategically, both year to year and long-term: identify trends developing within the league, division, college game, and internal roster and develop a plan to allocate limited resources accordingly. You have to be able to anticipate where the game is going and where your roster is going and have a clear plan for anticipating needs and issues before they arise. Whaley is TERRIBLE at this. He can credibly evaluate players on other rosters (i.e., pro personnel scouting) but that's really about it.
  10. No you didn't hear that. Please stop being a troll.
  11. Gotta put Sammy in the "cons" category at this point, at least from Terry's standpoint. That trade didn't work out.
  12. Again - did you see LAST YEAR'S draft? It's not like it can get worse than that...
  13. I'm going to hold judgment on this one until we see who gets axed (if anyone). Perhaps they'll keep some of the pro personnel folks. Regardless, I don't see how this is a "mess" - this is long overdue. This scouting department has failed. Last year's draft needed to be a good one and it BOMBED. Two major injury risks, one major character risk, and one episode of bad luck (Ragland) = game over.
  14. Sure.
  15. Picks 2-10 are incorrect.
  16. When did Whaley get fired?
  17. Alright - but my point is that I'm not sure a QB who isn't a pure pocket anticipation passer is DOA. I think you can win with a sandlot guy if you have the right pieces around him and a solid running game.
  18. I do not consider Cam to be an anticipation passer. You're describing him like Big Ben but that's not how he plays. He throws jump balls.
  19. Funny you should bring up Suggs: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/nfl-draft/2017/sackseer-2017
  20. AP can't catch the ball and can't operate out of shotgun. He is not a great fit for that offense. He's also old, has a lot of wear and tear, and is a bit of a PR risk for a team that hates distractions.
  21. Then I am in the minority but when I see MG run, he reminds me of Fred Jackson - no joke. His balance and vision are very familiar to me. And considering that Shady is probably in the final year of his tenure here, and the cap number for MG in 2018 is cheap under the deal NE signed him to, it seemed to me to be a no-brainer to match that deal. And I don't even have to factor in the fact that Whaley will squander that 5th on a backup safety who will be off the roster in a year.
