Folks hyping up Matthews because of his "availability" don't understand the impact that Sammy had on opposing defenses who had to gameplan for him and account for him on every play. Matthews is a JAG. Defenses can now key on Tyrod and Shady, and both will have a very difficult time being successful this season.

That's correct: the franchise tag assumes you have a talented player on your roster worth franchising. There should be a Bills Exception, which would allow horrible franchises like Buffalo to trade their tagging rights.

See, I don't think these predictions are unfair or bad - you did one, the OP did one, I thought both were well thought-out and plausible but who knows? But there should be nothing wrong with posting these types of predictions. Anyhow it's interesting that you seem to have us losing some games in the secondary, which seems highly plausible to me. I do think that you might be underrating our special teams, which I think win us 2-3 games this year (although you do have Hauschka winning one or two fur us).
