  1. My fear is that he's like a more Christian version of Josh McDaniels... his brief time in Buffalo will be cited repeatedly as his "learning experience" as he preps for his second go-round... just a fear, not a prediction. But this draft and stories like this one have me very spooked. My dad is going to die before this franchise gets things right, at this rate.
  2. PLEASE GOD not this again. Please - what do you want, I'm begging you? Is it money that you seek? Sexual favors? My first born child? What will it take for you to go back in time and not write this post? I'll do anything. I can't survive this discussion again.
  3. That is my issue as well. A large-breasted cryer like Vlad would've been available in August if they were in need of some...thing like that as Week 1 rolled round. There was NO REASON to sign him when they did, and it demonstrated the same lack of foresight that pervaded Whaley's entire tenure. (And I'm HOPING it was Whaley who pulled the trigger on that one.)
  4. Foresight when it comes to resource allocation and draft picks was never Whaley's forte, and it's a big reason he's unemployed. I'm really hoping Beane has a sounder strategy when it comes to these things.
  5. Unless, as BADOL says, McD just got it wrong, like they got it wrong with Gillislee (you all watch). It's kind of amazing that this new regime purports to tout analytics, yet they've already let two players walk who had impressive advanced stats. And while I'm at it - in a draft considered deep for tight ends and safeties, the Bills drafted neither despite both positions being major holes. It almost makes you wonder...
  6. He has a very good structure around him now with this coaching staff, in particular the DL coach. I expect him to thrive, not get "shipped out."
  7. Blue chip player who needs to be managed. Hardly a "bust." Everyone calm down.
  8. CK is wasted talent - I he was a five-star recruit coming out of high school (as was Seantral) - those guys have higher success rates than most prospects. He just never got his head right (and possibly his hip). Whaley had some bad luck here, coupled with a bad resource-allocation approach to the roster.
  9. It's a great way to "get around" the salary cap constraints to buy yourself an advantage - there is no cap on front office salaries.
  10. They should've at least found a way to surround him with experienced football personnel, such as a "czar" or whatever you want to call it.
  11. You signed in to the message board today just to type that?
  12. The Pegulas wasted everyone's time by learning on the job and hiring two glorified scouts as GMs to learn on the job at the same time. Hard to blame Whaley. New owners should bring in experienced football/hockey folks.
  13. From what I remember, you could usually tell how engaged he was from the look on his face during pregame warmups. There were many Sundays when he seemed totally checked out before the game even started.
  14. I mean yeah, it's difficult to keep weight under control if you're an adult, period. But he's a professional athlete who needs to prove himself to a brand-new set of coaches who run a different scheme from the coaches who drafted him, and whose scheme requires lighter LBs. There is very little excuse for showing up fat.
  15. If Ragland shows up over 240, for a new coaching staff, in a new defense, after a lost rookie year, being a questionable scheme fit, he's a complete, utter moron.
  16. Yup. The Tyrod malware program infected another thread.
  17. I too am quite skeptical, and a bit concerned by the approach. Why would you take a player like Tyrod and try to fit him into a timing offense, which requires precision and anticipation?
  18. Littman had much more of a direct role in the lease renegotiations than Brandon did. I know that from someone who sat at the table.
  19. (Talking to myself like a lunatic) this article suggests he played a role, but that it was O'Brien who was the biggest proponent: http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/texans/article/Osweiler-acquisition-began-in-film-room-ended-6886807.php
  20. Ok but - did he have anything to do with Osweiler?
