  1. I mean think about it - it's something like, Sammy was cleared by the inept training staff (over which Rex had no control, not that he would've exercised it), was forced back onto the field too early and wasn't himself, then the new regime comes in and declines the option because of his injury history and his inability to play at a high level of late. Wouldn't surprise me at all if that's how it went down, and in response, his agent made it clear to Beane that re-signing Sammy was gonna be near impossible. The thread of ineptitude extends throughout human history and certainly modern Bills history. Everything repeats and everything is linked.
  2. So 101 pages in, but I don't recall much discussion about how this entire debacle started with the inept medical/training staff last year. By some accounts, Watkins was forced back onto the field too early and remained pissed about it into the offseason.
  3. And they probably realize they don't need Hodges to beat the Jets...
  4. They are so well-coached but that does look difficult. We need to get lucky with some KC injuries. Then again, when do the Bills ever get lucky?
  5. I dunno. Was Leodis a good man cover corner? There are good man corners who lack ball skills, I'm not sure they're "better" or more valuable than a great zone corner who generates INTs...
  6. Aren't the Rams already paying Woods and Austin (!) something like $16M together this year and next? You beat me to it Yolo. The Rams have some problems... and no one - NO ONE - is trading for Tavon Austin at that contract.
  7. Dennison comes from the boring-but-somehow-effective school of running philosophy that has resulted in JAGs like Alfred Blue gaining four yards a carry over a limited stretch of games. Run towards the tackle, cut, squeeze a crease, gain 3.5 and fall down. I guess Taiwan is our Alfred Blue.
  8. Tiawan Jones, he number one running back.
  9. I don't think it's that black and white. I gave up Sunday Ticket this year and my family gave up our season tickets. I'll still casually watch some of the games but I'm not going out of my way to invest my time or money into the team this year. I'll post less frequently as well. That doesn't mean I've "quit on the team." It seems to me the team "quit on its fans" when it waited until a few days after season ticket sales had ended to trade its best young player for a bag of beans. The roster they've assembled is old and plodding. They've shipped away talented young players at their lowest values for very little in return. They say they're not tanking - let's be honest, it's even more terrifying if they're serious about that. They're either lying or they're incompetent. If you want to spend your money on the product this year so that you can qualify for the Fan of the Year award that doesn't exist, be my guest. But don't judge the rest of us for making different decisions. (And by the way, ScottLaw didn't quit on the Bills - he's always like this.) I know, I saw that - I'm not convinced.
  10. Prediction: if JWill isn't claimed today, a suspension gets announced soon. There has to be more to this story.
  11. In a vacuum I'm fine with that approach - I've said here repeatedly that Teams are low-hanging fruit that can win you an extra 2-3 games every year. If they weren't needlessly expelling young talented players, this team might actually have a shot...
  12. The fans are going to revolt by November. There is going to be serious pressure on the Pegulas this year, I don't think folks realize just how much anger and frustration has built up. We will see what's what around here soon - many of the folks preaching patience are going to be losing their minds in epic fashion.
  13. They're either smarter than everyone else in the league or this is another two-year special. Oh and, if they're NOT trying to tank, it's even more amazing.
  14. Guess his quest for justice was a sham.
  15. They are not accumulating talent to win football games. They instead appear to be building a boyscout troupe. The fans continue to suffer as the Pegulas let underqualifed candidates learn on the job. I'm sure when McD starts his next coaching tenure he'll reflect ruefully over the learning experience he suffered through in his first HC gig when he over-prioritized intangibles over talent...
  16. Please - Cruz is done dude. It's over. He looks horrible.
  17. Never change Bill, never change. (I mean it.)
  18. Kinda reminds me of JP Losman
  19. It's interesting about Crabtree because he's considered to have among the best hands of all NFL WRs. Must be a mental thing for him.
  20. There is no disputing - NONE - that the Bills screwed up the tendering on Hogan. Anyone who argues otherwise is a troll, I'm sorry to say. It's fine to debate whether Hogan is a good player or not, but it's clear that the Bills mis-assigned the tender and failed strategically to plan.
  21. If you're going to draft for need, and the Bills do - and they did in 2017 - you're better off moving around the draft board. Drafting for need while sitting tight is a risky proposition.
  22. No. Pegula empowered Whaley and Murray, and let them run their teams into the ground. He should've put far more checks in place to mitigate the risk of hiring/retaining unproven scouts as GMs.
