  1. Please, start a new thread for every fleeting thought that squirts its way out of your cerebellum.
  2. I bet "taken off their board" is not the right phrasing - I HIGHLY doubt that Rosen and Mayfield were categorically removed from the Bills' draft board, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had other, non-QB players ranked higher at 12 and perhaps even 22.
  3. Man. If we step back for a second - just think about it, Marrone walking around the halls yelling at junior staff members, Brandon prowling for action, and Whaley coming in banged up from a night on Chippewa - this must've been a fun place to work... and then you factor in the LaFontaine ugliness and the Tim Murray aloofness on the other side of things... PSE needs to professionalize its operations ASAP. This kind of dysfunction ultimately could reach the product if left unchecked, and possibly has. They should be hiring from the outside, revamping HR, using consultants to evaluate the efficacy of internal communications structures (up, down, horizontal, etc.), implementing 360 reviews, all of it. The Pegulas have been presiding over a total sh*$ show.
  4. I'm not sure they're all that dissimilar (besides the predatory behavior stuff)...
  5. I dunno, I think it worked out pretty well for the Cardinals getting Rosen and Kirk and not giving up too many assets. That division is gonna be fun to watch next year.
  6. Yup. Decades of our historical sins seem to be coming home to roost at this moment. I can understand why certain folks feel like they're caught in the teeth of something they didn't cause, that they're being punished for the crimes of previous generations - where all of a sudden, the tables are tilted towards women and minorities at the expense of the white working class male, and it feels fundamentally unfair, and you have certain factions of the Left cheering all of it on, and it could push one to believe that society has conspired against them... but I believe we'll look back some day and view this era as an important social re-calibration.
  7. I agree. We're seeing what might someday be considered a slight over-correction, but it makes sense viewed in the context of, well, the last ten thousand years. I understand why it upsets certain people but that's probably just the price we need to pay as a society to fix systemic inequalities.
  8. This is exactly correct. Peterman heaves the ball to a spot on the field and hopes the WR will be in that spot, and for out patterns he throws his entire frame into it and hopes for the best like Fitzpatrick used to do. He's not dissecting a defense post-snap like many here seem to think.
  9. The closest thing to pure evil I've seen on this forum. Congrats. EDIT: you were better off without the "edit."
  10. She may not be the best person on paper - who knows how she’ll do with it and there are many potential intangible benefits to making this move.
  11. Correct. There are lots of potential benefits. Kills me when white men get worked up about “qualifications” - jobs and privileges have been handed to us for thousands of years. You are wasting electrons.
  12. With all due respect, working at Leonardi’s Pizza is a bit different than working for a billion dollar sports and entertainment franchise.
  13. Enough! If she’s smart and a good listener and a good delegator, that’s about 95% of it and for millennia men have been getting jobs like this handed to them because of their dads or their friends and no one thought twice about it - and if you think you’re that much more qualified quit moaning about it on a message board and get working on your resume. I say all of that with much love.
  14. This is where you always go off the rails. You pretend to demand objectivity yet you come into these discussions with an obvious (and harebrained) bias.
  15. Yikes. For the record I stopped agreeing with you about 5 posts back... you've gone well off the rails. You were right when you said "we don't know what happened yet." Since then...
  16. That may be so if you're in a position of ultimate power and everyone is effectively a subordinate. But it's not always the case. And usually if it's disclosed right away, there is considerable discretion in terms of the company's response. Anyhow, we're still just speculating as to what actually happened. And sorry you've been through it. I can somewhat relate.
  17. That's a dangerous statement - ANY circumstance in which a male dates a female subordinate is not acceptable? I don't think that's right, and it's not even most companies' policies. You just need to disclose it (most of the time) so that you don't unfairly disadvantage OTHER employees who you're not dating, among other issues and circumstances.
  18. I wonder what his parachute looks like - it appears he resigned, so he wasn't fired for cause, but nor would he necessarily have gotten any $$ on the way out (although perhaps he negotiated something). But he probably had deferred comp and future bonus etc. that he left on the table. In other words, these encounters may have cost him a boatload of cash.
