  1. They don't have any elite players on that D (except maybe Tre), and they lack speed and depth at linebacker - they need Edmunds to develop quickly. But they're solid across the board and should be very difficult to run on next year.
  2. My money's on the Saints - they loved Mayfield and traded away their 2019 #1 during the draft.
  3. It's worth very little. The most concerning aspect of the 5-int game was that on a number of those throws (and I believe a 6th int was dropped), he just heaved it up for grabs because he lacked the arm strength to make a precision pass. He'll be out of the league in a year or two.
  4. Loading up on slot receivers is strange to me - Allen's weakness is that he lacks touch on short crossing routes - that will need to be corrected ASAP.
  5. Interesting. Next year's #1 will be a passrusher or WR.
  6. If they’d taken the other (right) Josh and all of their other picks were the same, this would go down as a legendary draft. What I keep coming back to is the risk factor - I understand why this regime wanted Allen, but I continue to feel like they missed an opportunity to stabilize the QB position.
  7. Seems like a high floor pick - at the very least he’ll be a solid backup for a long time.
  8. Wondering why Baltimore didn’t stay put to take him.
  9. Then I strongly recommend not sharing the car ride home with him.
  10. This regime doesn’t care about offense. 11 Tolberts on that side of the ball.
  11. Not a good look for the league to bring him to the draft to sit there for three days...
  12. Do they even plan to field an offense?
  13. https://twitter.com/DAonCBS/status/989697845791019008 Gettleman didn't even listen to offers for the #2 pick. He's Buddy Nix, I'm telling you. What a moron. If Reese were still the G.M., we'd be welcoming Sam Darnold to Buffalo this weekend.
  14. Agreed. The Bills have a tough task ahead trying to teach Allen to elevate his game.
  15. I tried to dig up the Shaq Lawson pick thread, I predicted in that thread that Whaley would be fired for that pick and it looks like I was right (sorta). I also thought Bradham was a "home run" pick. Those are the two times I've been right.
  16. The thing is, Manning was running an elite offense in college (I watched a ton of his Ole Miss games) - he was making checks at the line, reading defenses, and shredding them single-handedly - it was obvious what he would become at the NFL level. Rudolph has been a defined-read guy at Ok St. and the jury is out as to whether he can elevate his game.
  17. This dude is the linebacker version of Clowney. If he stayed in school for 2018 he'd be on track as a top-3 pick in 2019. McD has a track record of being able to mold linebackers. This pick was a calculated risk with an enormous upside. Now it's up to Edmunds to put in the work (and not get hurt). If he does that, we're potentially looking at the next Cornelius Bennett.
  18. We will see. It's a good pick in the sense that they didn't spend a blue chip asset on him and his strength (throwing downfield) matches up well with their offense. But his physical skillset is much closer to Tommy Maddox than Big Ben, and reading defenses is not something he's proven he can do.
  19. Correct. If he tries to make throws like that in the NFL, he'll have a very short career - back-footed heaves downfield are a recipe for destruction, no matter how strong of an arm you have. This is why it's so dangerous to draft based upon measurables - guys like Allen often end up relying solely on their arm talent to bail them out of trouble and ignore fundamentals like footwork and play design, and that's why they flame out. Allen might make it - but to me, the odds are stacked against him and I didn't (and still don't) feel that the Bills should be in the risk-taking game at the QB position.
  20. Looks like the Jets got a good player as well.
  21. They need to build an offense around him ASAP. Need a burner who can take the top off the defense, and a bunch of tall WRs and TEs with good hands and big catch radii. Benjamin is a decent start but where are they gonna find the rest of those parts?
