  1. You make good points. But I get the Tyrod move - they wanted to add 2018 draft picks to give themselves maximum flexibility to move up for their QB. They didn’t want to have to trade 2019 picks. It’s rational. I too wish they fortified the line but they didn’t expect Wood to have to retire and Richie to totally lose his marbles. They got a bit jammed there. My beef is dealing away all of the talent - as you said elsewhere, it’s pure hubris and a questionable way to protect your QB investment. And I agree with you also that having a boatload of money to spend next year in free agency is a dangerous game - they could easily end up with a bunch of bloated contracts and middling veterans. And I’ll add - Beane has shown ZERO ability to identify and sign quality free agents - literally has nothing to show for his pro personnel efforts. Not a single player.
  2. Working-class resentment of black athletes - a Buffalo specialty.
  3. Very small-minded thing to say - and that's putting it nicely.
  4. This is why the players will never successfully invert the CBA dynamics in their favor - they will turn on each other when the going gets tough.
  5. Are the ostriches and lunatics still defending this President? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/05/opinion/trump-white-house-anonymous-resistance.html?smtyp=cur&smid=tw-nytimes
  6. “False start, offense, number 76, five yards and we’ll replay the down.” I might bet my life savings on that happening...
  7. Their faces look somewhat alike. That is all.
  8. They've got to be concerned about Vontae - he seems totally out of gas.
  9. He will set an all-time, never-to-be-broken record for pick-sixes-per-attempt. This should be interesting.
  10. I guess it’s fair to wait and see - but either they just happened to round up a bunch of veterans who love treating August as an extended ice bath, or the Bills’ 2018 FA class is a group of corpses. Davis’s and Murphy’s bodies might just be done, and Star has yet to demonstrate an ounce of effort.
  11. I’m sorry - has Beane landed a single quality free agent in his tenure?
  12. I get what you’re saying. I could argue it both ways. There are also multiple ways to win - this certainly doesn’t keep the Bills from winning, if they use their cap and pick resources the right way going forward. I just think - once you have your QB, start stockpiling talent.
  13. Your pro personnel dept should have told you all of that pre-trade, from their league sources and intel. Assuming they did, you don’t trade for him unless you have a plan for him, and that plan has to include more than two weeks of evaluation time. And if they didn’t have that intel, that would concern me.
  14. I really see this so much differently than most of you. You have your QB. Passrusher is the next most important position. You have the chance to add your first blue chip player in what - two plus decades? - who also happens to be a local star whose merch will fly off the shelves. NOW is exactly the time to make a bold move like this. Still have plenty of cap room next offseason to add offensive linemen and a corner. Whereas the Corey Coleman move - trade a pick and salary for a two-week tryout of a high draft pick - is the kind of move you make when you have very few holes on the roster and you’re contending and looking for some depth for the title run... In my view Beane (and some of you) has it backwards.
  15. So their player development department gets 2 weeks putting him through the program?
  16. To be clear - I applaud the trade, I am disgusted with releasing him. They need his talent. He actually produced fairly well when on the field for Cleveland.
  17. Ah here come the fascists...
  18. Because you should be using free agency to fill holes, not the draft. The Bills’ biggest hole is talent - they have exactly one proven playmaker.
