It’s not that they don’t care, or don’t respect the fans. They’re trying to deliver a good product - anyone can see that. They just have no idea what they’re doing. They’re TERRIBLE sports owners from a service delivery standpoint. They hire poorly. They don’t know what to look for in their hires other than, for whatever reason, they have a bias against experienced GMs. They’ve hired/retained four first-time GMs (Murray, Botterill, Whaley, Beane) and the results have been atrocious - yet they keep at it. The closest they’ve come to bringing in an experienced outsider was LaFontaine and that ended quickly in disaster when he butted heads with the Pegula Sports “Deep Staters.” It needs to happen ASAP with the Bills - the thought of Brandon Beane and his crank team of personnel evaluators pissing away $80M in cap room next offseason makes me physically ill... it will set the franchise back another five years easy... those decisions need to be vetted by an Acorsi or Wolf type.

Holy hell the Bills screwed this up. All of it - shedding talent, waiting until 2018 to draft a QB, trading all of those picks for said QB, surrounding him with no talent and a weak scheme, failing to provide him with a competent OC, QB coach or veteran backup, and now getting him seriously injured. This is an abject, unqualified disaster.

This is just unbelievable. It was only a matter of time with their negligent approach to protecting him. Unreal. Every time the Bills try to do something that flies in the face of conventional football wisdom, it blows up in their faces. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I don't think there's any question at this point that the Pegulas are in way over their heads and remain tone deaf about it. They need to hire an experienced football consultant ASAP to vet all personnel decisions. They have presided over the complete destruction of the roster. There was no need for it - and the product is TERRIBLE.

McDermott may already be unraveling. I don’t see him being allowed to hire a second GM or a third OC. He’s in serious hot water now that the prized QB predictably got hurt and the backup situation was bungled.

Agree and have been saying it for a few weeks. Given the abysmal level of talent on offense, the plan should be to shelve Allen and let some middling vet take the beating. But honestly, this is a disgrace to the fanbase, all of it.

If this happens, McDermott will be fired at season’s end.

I believe the pass to Zay you’re referring to was the play after Allen got injured. First, I was shocked Daboll (who is a bona fide idiot) called a pass play when it was clear Allen had hurt his arm. Second, Zay was not only open, he would’ve probably scored if Allen wasn’t too banged up to get him the ball. It’s a shame how these things work - if Allen hadn’t gotten banged up the previous play, he probably completes that pass FOR THE WIN. Instead... well, you all know what happened. Waiting for the All-22 to confirm what I saw on that play. Would’ve been epic.

No, and before handing Beane $80M to spend next offseason, the Pegulas need to hire an experienced football mind to serve as a consultant to vet every decision that gets made. Mis-spending that money will sabotage this team for 4+ years.

He’ll probably be ok but some of us expected this - they’ve been setting up to have Allen murdered. The handling of the QB position in particular, and the roster generally, is extreme negligence.

Yes. No question. And the coach and GM who keep trotting him out there have revealed themselves to be two of the worst pro personnel evaluators in the history of the NFL.
