  1. The thing is, he already basically told them that before the season started and now has had to reverse himself.
  2. That's exactly what's taking him so long. I have no doubt McD huddled with Beane and probably the Pegulas on the eve of the season, before trading McCarron and naming Peterman the starter, and convinced them that it was a good move for a variety of reason - Peterman had a solid preseason, Allen wasn't ready, the line was still gelling, the opening schedule is brutal and it would be damaging to Allen's career to put him in so quickly. Now if he goes back to them to wave the white flag so quickly, he loses face big time. He needs to pretend he's attending to some kind of deliberative process so that he doesn't look like a total flake. It's that simple.
  3. Castillo is going to get McDermott fired.
  4. Yup - I remember that play - looked like Edmunds freelanced and it worked.
  5. You are sort of describing Big Ben's first year offense. Makes sense to me.
  6. I've been saying this since 2017!!!!
  7. It will be a disaster for Beane. The Pegulas surely will be paying close attention as well.
  8. Correct. He doesn't even TRY to diagnose the play post-snap - it's like it doesn't matter to him what the defense is doing AT ALL. He decides pre-snap where to throw it and throws it, regardless of whatever else is going on. It's maddening and I don't understand how the coaches still don't see this - some of us noticed it last year.
  9. Peterman decides where he's going with the ball before the snap - and nothing is going to change his mind, NOTHING. Also, John Miller is an abortion at RG.
  10. The Bills had 11 players on both offense and defense? That's news to me. Glad someone looked at the film and counted.
  11. I don't think it's crazy to assume that part of this signing is the Putin strategy of sewing (additional) dysfunction in a rival's front office. BB knows that the Pegulas are relative simpletons who will turn the screws on their inexperienced GM for shelling out $3.5M for a two-week tryout, only to cut bait and let the division rivals pick him up. BB loves beating the Bills over the head with their own, old shoe. I'm convinced that the Gilleslee signing was palatable to BB because he knew that, even if TD Mike didn't work out for the Pats' offense, he was thwarting the Bills' plans. The Coleman experiment is an embarrassment for Beane who is in over his head and has not shown that he has any real strategy or understanding of how to build a roster or manage his bosses' money. Those bosses surely have noticed by now.
  12. The word "singular" actually means "exceptional," FYI.
  13. Of all the "film" McD watches this week I suspect it'll be the film of last night's Jets game, more than anything else, that convinces him (or his bosses) to start the rookie.
  14. All of those players except Listenbee are still in the league...
  15. Please define “emotional romanticism” - that’s the second time I’ve seen that phrase used here lately.
  16. Surprised Lacey didn’t get the axe, he’s the one to make an example out of. Anyone else remember when Mularkey cut Bobby Shaw?
  17. Except not - as I’ve been saying - the fans really aren’t ready for this - lots of folks talk about patience and suffering but it only took one game for all of that to fly out the window - “well yeah but I didn’t know we’d have to suffer THIS much...” - don’t underestimate fan anger making its way up to a fragile owners’ box. It’s about to get HOT around McBeane’s collar and if this continues through October, watch out.
  18. McD should’ve been either an evangelical pastor or a general contractor - two professions where you can promise elusive results way off in the distant future but only after a massive tear down and reconstruction that never really ends...
  19. "We're just in the second year..." he's practicing his explanation to Terry & Kim...
  20. It's not even about the QB to me - he just stands there and sermonizes - his words are motivational but lack any real meaning. He's in the wrong profession.
  21. Pretty sure "Paxton's music" = Vanilla Ice...
