  1. Gilmore had an amazing year - in a relatively down year for cornerbacks generally. He was by almost all accounts (including PFF's) the top cornerback in football in 2018. I don't know why you're surprised by this?
  2. If Allen continues his upward trajectory, this is going to pay off for Culley big time. Allen was the type of raw prospect coming out of college that a QB coach can take credit for developing.
  3. Sounds like we should just sign him!
  4. Might depend on who they hire to coach the line. I suspect that coach, and the schemes Daboll and he are going to run, will impact heavily what type of linemen they end up with.
  5. But have you tried a whole new staff?
  6. Zero self-accountability based on that interview. I can only imagine the sass he gave Daboll on a weekly basis. Good firing, good riddance.
  7. Just not true. I don't know how PFF came up with its ranking but Denzel Ward was an incredible player for Cleveland this year - when he was healthy he was borderline dominant. Levi was a nice add but his unwillingness to tackle was a serious problem for long stretches of multiple games. I would be saying the same thing if he was drafted in Round 1, it doesn't matter to me, I saw a guy playing with very little functional strength and horrible tackling technique.
  8. He had a much better game in Week 17 - finally displayed a willingness to get his hands dirty and tackle. Same with Edmunds for that matter. Still need to upgrade the position in 2019. Wallace is a nice, capable reserve but not yet a solution at the #2 CB spot.
  9. I never see him make contested throws into tight windows under pressure. Ever. In the rare instances where he has to speed up his clock, I've seen him make horrendous decisions, and/or lose his mechanics entirely and throw the ball into the dirt. He would scare the heck out of me as a first round pick, let alone a top ten pick. He's nowhere near the top four from the 2018 draft. Just don't see it with Haskins. I get that he came out of a prostyle offense but to me that's kind of the problem - he's able to put up big numbers in an offense that specializes in getting its playmakers "college open." He's extremely raw as a passer and I really don't know how well his game is going to translate to the NFL. I wouldn't touch him. But then again, I am no expert.
  10. Not really. He's done NOTHING to demonstrate that he's qualified to coach offensive linemen. IIRC he had input into the talent they assembled (specifically Ducasse) and nothing excuses the confusion and chaos that was evident on too many running plays.
  11. I mean this one shouldn't even have been close, and hopefully it wasn't. There were multiple running plays EACH GAME where the linemen were slamming into each other and blowing up the play before it started. John Miller regularly looked like he was "glitching" - he'd start to pull, then look around, then crash into Bodine or Groy or McCoy himself. It was a complete circus and there is no excuse for it. Castillo was stealing paychecks in 2018.
  12. The accountability they’ve demonstrated since the bye week has been very refreshing. Benjamin, Clay, Ducasse, Castillo, Crossman. These move suggest more flexibility than I’ve seen from McD historically.
  13. Thank goodness. Another year of that line play would’ve gotten me banned for my gameday thread outbursts.
  14. Draft Jonah, kick Dawkins inside, sign a center - huge upgrade all around.
  15. He also throws past the sticks on third down - I was never sure Tyrod even knew the score, down or distance.
  16. Allen got whalloped while blocking on the play before the INT, I suspect he was still groggy when he threw that pass. Coaches should’ve known better than to call a pass in that situation, at that point in the game, after Allen just got his clock cleaned.
  17. Long strider who couldn’t adapt his muscle memory to fit the modern quick-twitch passing game. It’s really that simple.
  18. Ridiculous. Leave your bubble.
  19. They did a really poor job. Holocaust denial usually can be summed up as follows: “The Holocaust never happened but it should have.” Deniers always betray their own sick biases. Always.
  20. Agreed he added value - question is what the price is for the second contract - does he want to be paid like a “first round pass rusher” or will he take “edge setter” money? The spread will be huge.
  21. Speaking of which - no one is even talking about it but Shaq Lawson might take second place for worst player on the field on Sunday - our first round “edge setter” was an absolute disgrace. Not sure what he’s good at besides tipping passes at the line.
  22. Hopkins is more of a possession guy actually. He wins with technique, route running, and the strongest hands maybe ever.
