  1. It all comes down to his compete - does he want it? Will he want it once he gets paid? We will see. No one knows.
  2. You still gotta draft talent. That entire class is close to washing out.
  3. Not expecting him to get a quick jump on free agency, given his slow get-off... ?
  4. But if anything that should tell you how big the hype was... everyone knew he'd be great, but there was talk of him being generational and he hasn't been THAT, yet.
  5. Yup. I said this around here a few days ago. And it's not just because the players they draft aren't good (though that's part of it) - it's because they draft at non-premium positions like RB and RT which just don't make sense to extend. You can easily fill those positions on the cheap in the FA market. It's a fundamentally flawed approach to roster building, even more than poor scouting and development, that has caused this pattern. And I'm concerned they've repeated themselves with this last draft. Selecting Ford and Singletary at 2 and 3 were hits down the fairway for a GM who probably needed to think a bit bolder, but even worse, those are simply not premium positions and there is a good chance - like Shaq Lawson, a DE who can't rush the passer - that neither of them sees a second contract.
  6. I don't see either guy getting traded, so it's moot (or "mute," as Alphadog would say). That said - Xavier Rhodes is reportedly available and he's 1 year removed from being the best corner in football - I'd throw a 2nd to the Vikes for him...
  7. He does seem grabby... but the way he mirrors, it’s like watching a refrigerator match steps with a d lineman - pretty agile for a big wide dude.
  8. Hey this stuff ain’t rocket surgery, ya know?
  9. Although to Beane’s credit - and noticeably unlike Gettleman - Beane actually seems to look ahead to the next year’s class when planning for the draft, or at least he claims to...
  10. MUTE POINT ALERT!! Hope this post doesn't hurt your self of steam!
  11. UDFAs also have some say in where they go, and (all things equal) choose opportunities where they may get a better shot, whether it's because of depth at their position, the scheme they're running, the position coach who'll be working with them, etc. It would make sense (to me, at least) that a relatively "free" market would lead to better long-term outcomes...
  12. I’m struggling to remember the last Bills first round pick who made it to their second contract - Dareus? And he gets an asterisk because they quickly dealt him. Wood?
  13. I'm kind of with you - I get the thinking, Shady is probably here for one more year only and they don't want to be forced to take a RB high next year, but it's just not a value position (unlike CB, WR, EDGE). In fact other than Oliver they haven't drafted any value positions - they've drafted the same positions they could easily be crate-digging for in free agency. That said, I like all of the players they drafted. I'm just concerned that next year they're going to be forced to pay big $$ or a high pick for a DE, CB and WR.
  14. In watching his clips, I came away interested in recruiting his offensive line coach to join our staff - not sure who it is (suppose it could be Googled), but man - those are some solid blocking concepts.
  15. In what decade are we going to finally have a tight end? I wonder if Beane doesn’t even trust his own pass catcher evals anymore.
  16. He’s a bit country for sure. NYC will be an interesting spot for him. Oliver will bring some much-needed character to the Bills’ D...
  17. I disagree. Haskins will struggle there - offensive line is just meh, Gruden might not last until 2020, front office is full of back-stabbers. Sweat is a dog, I get the sense he lacks professionalism.
  18. But when you factor in the stupidity of last year's draft - taking a running back at 2 in a QB-heavy draft where everyone knew that the 2019 crop of QBs was going to be a huge downgrade - he's a moron. They could have Darnold throwing to OBJ with Josh Jacobs taking handoffs this year. Gettleman is a clown show.
  19. 192 tackles (53 for a loss - 25% of his tackles were for a loss!), 13.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 11 pass deflections over three seasons - most of that AS A NOSE TACKLE!
  20. If Ya Sin and Metcalf are both there at 40 it's going to be an interesting conversation in the war room. I'm sure McD is eyeing another corner, and it'll be up to Beane to reign in his coach's defensive tendencies.
  21. This. They really struggle to evaluate college WRs. They’ve never really hit on one. Harry is going to be used as a “big slot” WR to help offset the loss of Gronk in their offense. It’s still a major downgrade and a big projection on their part. I lose no sleep over this pick.
  22. You should be tarred and feathered, amateur.
