  1. Part of it was just his style of play too. Luck was never going to be a dink-and-dunk QB. More than any other QB of the modern era, his game was always about hanging around in the pocket waiting for deep routes to develop and open up. Frankly he was the best at it I’ve ever seen. And he ran like a running back, taking a lot of contact with his style (in college too). He was a throwback from a different era. Not sure a well-built line (which as of last year, they have) would’ve saved him.
  2. The Colts aren’t in as bad a spot as they’d have been a decade ago. There is a bumper crop of QB talent that has been entering the league and the next few QB classes look solid as well - we’re seeing something of a renaissance for the position. Luck’s salary goes off their books, they have deep talent at other positions (including the best interior lineman in the game and one of the best inside linebackers), their owner is committed to winning and they have a solid coaching staff finally. This year may be rough for them especially if players check out mentally given the timing of all of this, but I suspect they’ll be competitive sooner rather than later. What pisses me off is that this helps Bill O’Brien’s Texans team, which I despise.
  3. Dude has been groomed to be an NFL QB his entire life.
  4. He’s going to make the team and contribute. Solid find. Not sure why the Eagles let a guy like that go given how hard it is to find quality line depth.
  5. Yes. Won’t sign him to a second contract and he fits better in a precision offense that schemes to get him open. Cut bait.
  6. Agree with your takes. Allen to me looked jump and totally out of rhythm but it’s hard to say what a full game would’ve looked like. Remember, Allen tends to be a slow starter. Zay may be getting shopped. Seems to me they’re showcasing him and trying to hide Wade and perhaps Foster (though good luck sneaking him onto the PS after last season). But Zay playing into the second half says to me they’re trying to move him. I can see Duke making the team in that scenario. Jaquon Johnson made a really nice play to force a fumble and he needed that.
  7. Guys are making the cuts easy.
  8. We are back in Wyoming.
  9. How many mistakes is McD gonna tolerate? This stuff should be unacceptable this season.
  10. So punting is gonna be a thing this year huh. Allen needs to settle down.
  11. Agreed. Gregg-o's D is actually decent at confusing and bullying weak and/or inexperienced QBs. That's basically ALL it's good at doing. Josh is going to get some weird and difficult looks right out of the gate. Hopefully he's up to the challenge but it's possible we don't see him really thrive until midseason.
  12. Twitter is little more than a megaphone for narcissists and morons.
  13. Item 2 isn’t really true. There were lots of grumblings that the special perks he carved out for himself in his contract poisoned the locker room. I recall something about him being the only player allowed to play music at his locker and it rubbed a lot of players the wrong way. And then when he started mailing it in but was taking home the biggest paycheck, players started carping anonymously to the media and everything began to fray. Ritchie, when he was here, was by all accounts a team guy.
  14. Let's hope Johnson isn't too hardon him.
  15. It moved a little
  16. Peter King didn’t write the article and doesn’t even write for that website anymore. But yet HE’S the moron...
  17. I almost wish they hadn't been allocated him, because I cannot take 20 posts per day mistakenly characterizing his roster options.
  18. No need to wait for the actual games to start - I'm thinking we can figure out now, in this thread, if these guys are going to be good.
  19. I thought Teller looked great.
  20. He’ll be ready for week one and is having a monster preseason.
