Is there a role for Tyler Kroft on the Bills?

There was a red zone play last week that was designed to go to him but got blown up, I don’t remember how but I could tell from the pre-snap that they were targeting him on a seam route. And he was open. But I’m just basing my comment off his look in a uniform, not on his running speed. He looks like he’s been drinking beer on the sofa for the past year, not that there’s anything wrong with it. I remember him being svelter in Cincy. -

Honestly he looks out of shape to me. -
Ted Danson is a national treasure.

Kelly I had the same though - the NFL will find a way to avoid doing the right and obvious thing - they will somehow screw this up. Hope I’m wrong. Also, the fact that the Browns players, to a man, condemned this, is good for the team long-term. Kitchens will be fired soon and if they get the next hire right, watch out.

Pretty sure everyone agrees with this, including Allen, his coaches and the GM...

Same here, although I continue to think he's not being put in the best situation given the lack of playmakers. That said, his problems all stem from slow processing speed, which was an issue in college and is a hard thing to correct as a pro. His accuracy issues result from poor mechanics which result from delayed processing - he has less time to set his base, because it takes him too long to recognize where to throw it. He's just not reading defenses well enough or quickly enough and it's troubling that it's still going on after 20 games. Should he get another 20 games? Absolutely. But as I've said, in the meantime I'd draft or sign a developmental guy, someone with lesser tools but faster processing speed (a Minshew/Kyle Allen type).

Right. I'm not a football expert at all. But from experience, throwing a football (or a frisbee) on a deep line to a moving target is hard enough - but it gets really tough when you don't know which way the guy is going to break. That's why you would prefer to have the route oriented toward a particular flag or the goalpost. It looked to me like Allen threw that one straight on the line McK was running, and that if McK had just kept running that line it might've hit him in stride. But the way that play worked out suggests to me it hasn't been practiced enough...
