  1. Wouldn’t go that far, at all. They’ve gotten better at cutting bait. Kelvin Benjamin, Quinten Spain, Juan Castillo.
  2. I think they call it “innovation consulting” nowadays…
  3. Lawrence’s frame would scare me. He’s built like Rob Johnson, I could totally see him dislocating his ribs by falling on the ball.
  4. As I said elsewhere, a third round pick on Werner solves all problems on defense. There’s your instinctive Mike, and Edmunds becomes a 10-15 sack guy.
  5. ETN struggles with pass protection. He’s just as likely to get Allen injured.
  6. YOU WERE THE ONE WHO CITED GETTLEMAN. But I’ll ask you: when is the last time a first round running back helped his team win a Super Bowl? It’s extremely rare.
  7. Because the rules overwhelmingly favor the offense.
  8. Gettleman was fired for mismanaging the roster three months after drafting McCaffrey. He promptly went to the Giants and took Barkley at 2, receiving a ton of criticism for refusing to trade down, passing on QBs, and picking another top 10 back who failed to help his team win games. Mara put Gettleman on public notice this offseason. So hopefully Beane has been paying close attention to the saga of his former boss. Dave Gettleman has left a clear road map of how NOT to build a roster.
  9. Carolina makes a ton of sense. He went to college there.
  10. I like big Boettgers, I’m not gonna lie.
  11. You know who else thinks so? Calais Campbell.
  12. But they’d have the money to do it. Plus coach salaries don’t count against the cap. Paying the best passing game coordinator on the market is far cheaper than paying top dollar to a QB. Again, I don’t think anyone seriously expects this to happen but it’s a cool idea and it’s far more interesting than most of the draft-related takes the media is spitting out this week.
  13. I did read that. I would like more information. Is the goal to be faster? Is that what he thinks the "missing element" is? How does that relate to his drop? Does he want to become a better third-down back to make it harder for them to take him off the field in passing downs?
  14. It's an asset allocation issue. Are they gonna give Lamar a $150M contract if he's already hit his ceiling? They might be able to get the same baseline production out of a guy like Fields at a fraction of the cost, allowing them to stock up in other areas.
  15. I read the article. Didn't answer any of my questions. He watches the clip. Great, put "Super Bowl - 2022" in ink.
  16. Per PFT: "They [could] take a collegiate approach to the quarterback position,” Brooks said on NFL Network’s Path to the Draft. “They cash in on a Justin Fields. And then maybe they operate like a college team. One quarterback graduates, the other quarterback steps into the starter’s role. You now have the opportunity to keep a starting quarterback potentially on a young deal, build up the rest of the assets, and then play smash mouth football the way that they play, and continue to build a better team around the quarterback. It’s something to think about." That's actually kind of brilliant and it's super-creative. Why not maximize your salary cap space by going another 4 years with a QB on a rookie deal? Their roster is set up to win without elite QB play, and if they think Jackson has hit his ceiling as a passer, it's not crazy. I'm sure they won't do it but I love outside-the-box ideas like this one.
  17. Sure he can get better. BUT TELL US WHAT HE'S DOING TO GET BETTER (Dunne, not you). That article is just a puff piece.
  18. That article is nice and all but it just assumes its conclusion. He's going to get the Bills to the Super Bowl because he doesn't shy away from the drop that might've cost the Bills a chance at the Super Bowl? (Never mind Mahomes' 75% completion percentage rout?!) I mean great, but what is he doing to improve his game besides watching videos of his screwup? And by the way he has done that before - Motor has a knack for fumbling or dropping the ball at critical moments in critical games. Is he speed training? Working with the JUGS machine? Diving into the X's and O's of the Bills' blocking schemes? Simply owning a mistake doesn't guarantee you'll get better.
  19. The right wing troll army took over PPP several years ago and it’s become a real cesspool. That said, I didn’t think Bandit got caught up in those convos. Could be wrong.
  20. What’s rare is to hit on a first round RB who makes it to his second contract.
  21. Amazingly, the Bills could solve all of their problems on defense for the cost of one third round pick! Draft Peter Werner from OSU and by mid-season he’ll be able to man the Mike spot. There’s your instinctive thumper in the middle. Meanwhile you move Edmunds outside and he becomes a 12-15 sack guy. Boom. Not that they have the stones to do it but it would work.
  22. Seriously doubt Basham has the football character they look for. He’s widely seen as underachieving and entitled - not their type of player. All of this reminds me - where the &$@$” is @thebandit27 ? I miss his annual predictions.
  23. Super high football character and can play any receiver position. He’s this year’s Justin Jefferson and he might be the guy Beane is targeting with a slight move up.
