Trust your coaches to make Neal and Kumerow “top end gunners” and don’t ever cut bait on a premium position young prospect like DJ who’s still ascending. You cannot cut Darryl Johnson to keep Taiwan Jones no matter what your 2021 goals are - it’s a mistake. Don’t forget this team will have to start finding gems ASAP to balance out Allen’s impending cap hit.

You may well be right. And it's hard to find fault overall with McBeane's approach. But cutting a promising young pass rusher like DJ - whom they've invested in and developed - in order to keep Taiwan Jones, one of the most replaceable players at one of the most replaceable positions - would be a highly frustrating event.

Don’t forget, Star and Butler were also first-round picks by the Pre-Bills.

I think Jones finally falls off the 53 this year and gets replaced by some combination of Kumerow, Neal and maybe Brieda.

Tua just sailed a ball into the middle of the field for an INT in the endzone. He has no zip on his passes.

His footwork is so weird. Does not shift his weight forward I agree. An arm-thrower with a weak arm.

This is what I’m seeing. He’s moving around better and he has great touch on his passes - but no zip after about 8 yards. If you can muddy his pocket and make him throw outside the sticks (or into the wind) he is going to struggle.

He didn’t drop. For whatever reason he shaded outside at the snap and gave up the easy slant. Looked like a technique issue.

Not at all, that play was fine. He has zero counter moves and doesn’t appear to have NFL-level conditioning.

Basham played well into the 4th and looks to be inactive on gamedays to start the season - he needs a year of NFL coaching and conditioning. Corner depth is a serious problem. Spencer Brown was bad but it would be negligent to have Bobby Hart on the roster after paying Allen a quarter billion dollars - ask Cincy how that worked out for their investment. Fromm cannot play quarterback at this level.

No serious team employs Jake Fromm.

Again - the first preseason game is always like this - they purposely call it tight and ease up by the time the season starts.
