  1. I do not understand this team's approach to the tight end position for like THREE DECADES. It's like they forget the position exists.
  2. Stidham is hurt, no? The Patriots don’t actually have a backup QB right now unless I’m missing something?
  3. They aren't even gonna try to do that in their offense. They've loaded up on TEs and power backs, everything will be between the hashes. Guess who'll need to step up when we play them? (Rhymes with "Schmedmunds.")
  4. Joe B. predicted this and said he'll be back.
  5. Sloppy analysis aside, this won’t be an easy game. Tomlin has them ready to go when the season starts and they’ve improved from last year.
  6. Let me guess, your “cousin” again as the source?
  7. You'll be sold an offensive coach with a (now) proven track record, accompanied by a vet QB at a reasonable contract who knows the offense and can act as a "stop gap" while a new, to-be-drafted QB is groomed.
  8. Part of that might have been the opponents. Johnson is notoriously bad at keeping the edge, something he was still doing this preseason from what I saw - he gets sucked inside very easily and gives up contain. Like almost every time. You can't do that against teams like Baltimore and KC who know how to exploit it.
  9. Agreed, it's not lazy at all and it's highly likely to happen. Daboll would be wise to package himself with a QB who has spent time in his system - there will be plenty of openings looking for a brand-new HC/QB combo, even if the QB is considered a stop-gap. It's smart marketing.
  10. Wonder if this is the last of the “future considerations” for Ray-Ray McCloud. Hate giving up on a developing young pass rusher they’ve invested a ton in.
  11. To my untrained eye I just find him inconsistent. This is not an overly complex defense and he’s been in it for a few years yet there are still Sundays where he’s just lost. He and the coaches often admit as much after those games. And then other weeks he makes an impact. I just don’t know what to make of the guy. An instinctive player with his measurable shouldn’t have weeks where he just disappears - but he does, so he must not be instinctive. I don’t know about waiting and investing years into him finally becoming The One. I tried that with my ex wife and in general, I think people are who they are and waiting for change is a fool’s errand. But McBeane have invested so much in the guy, heck, they haven’t drafted or signed anyone who might even begin to challenge his roster spot, I just feel like we’re going to be in this for the long haul with Tremaine. And just wait until they’re actually paying him top dollar, the outrage is really gonna spike when he disappears for weeks at a time.
  12. The Steelers were doing this for years - drafting receivers in the 3-6th round range, developing them in a high-octane passing offense, and watching them get paid elsewhere. Sanders was one such guy. They’d leave and the next one would grow in like shark’s teeth. With Davis, Hodgins and now Stevenson, we may be replicating that system.
  13. Amazing that the Bills basically traded DK Metcalf and Wyatt Teller for Cody Ford. Hard to argue with what Beane has done but this was an epically bad maneuver.
  14. Agree with all of this. Cody Ford is the worst pick of the Beane era by a mile when you consider the opportunity cost. He’s just not a football player. Total scrub.
  15. Nobody is going to trade for Mario Addison. No one. Obada is on a one-year deal, he won’t be back if he plays well this year so he’s the most obvious trade candidate, followed by Johnson.
  16. He did not “take what he was given.” He took whatever the f— he wanted.
  17. TBH he’d be a good add for that locker room.
  18. Is that official team released? Amazing if true. They paid him a bunch of guaranteed money.
  19. Roberts isn’t going to be released, he’s basically their only pro bowler (maybe Cooks).
  20. Lawson too often plays at or close to replacement-level, which is why his employers keep struggling with reasons to pay him any more than that, it’s that simple. Dude is just average, and average veterans quickly get priced out.
