Here’s a couple of moves that make sense to me.

<checks thread to see which moves will absolutely NEVER happen> -
Ok.

TSW free agency porn.
-
Las Vegas also makes a ton of sense. Point is, zero chance Beane (i) cuts bait on Edmunds and (ii) signs a prized FA linebacker in his 30s. Zero.
-
What about Beane’s approach to his own draftees and free agency generally would lead anyone to think they’d consider cutting bait on Edmunds and signing Bobby Wagner? It’s a waste of thought energy. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Cowboys or Chiefs signed him tomorrow. Beane doesn’t go after prized free agents, he just doesn’t. The man has never had any credit card debt in his entire life - that’s who he is.

To be clear I’m not saying they should do this, I’m just painting a picture of what a possible “splash” offseason spending spree would look like. Agree re Chandler Jones. As for Von Miller, not sure where he fits into this defense and they don’t have $20M to pay him given their other needs.

Splash offseason: Sign Kirk and Gronk Trade the first for McCaffrey and use him as a hybrid slot receiver Tickets will be sold.

Speculative article on friction between McDermott and Staff?

We will find out pretty quickly next season. If the players start tuning out McD because of the Chiefs debacle (which 100% was a McD failure), it’ll show up as soon as they face some adversity. -
Bills interested in signing Rob Gronkowski, per Tim Graham

Yup and there’s one guy saying “no thanks I’d rather win a Super Bowl with homegrown talent” I mean Christ, THE DUDE LITERALLY WENT TO WILLIAMSVILLE NORTH. You cannot get any more “farm to table” than Gronk. I am starting to believe Quarantine Brain is a real thing. -

When they sign Gronk and he apologizes (again) in his opening PC and talks about bringing a championship to his hometown and he and Tre do some co-branding promos together - are you guys still gonna come here and salt? -

I’ve seen a lot of bad takes here over the years (and your takes are usually good ones), but this might be the worst TSW take of All Time. Not wanting to overpay for an injury-prone vet I get, and maybe folks just don’t like Gronk and yes he’s a douche. But THIS - holy hell. Pin this one to the Wall of Shame. Stacking your roster with talent to win championships “feels cheap” to you? Incredible. -

I would like to formally nominate this thread for the “Weekly TSW Edmunds Thread.” Do I have a second? All in favor? -
Article - Six free agents Buffalo should target
Coach Tuesday replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Expensive list right there. -
Maybe the worst contract in franchise history, definitely the worst in Beane’s tenure. And that’s saying something considering he paid several million dollars for two weeks of Corey Coleman.

Get Christian McCaffery to be our #1... slot WR...???
Coach Tuesday replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
For a hybrid slot receiver who can run plays out of the backfield a la Deebo, that's a bargain. I'd do this in a heartbeat. You're using him less than Carolina was, but maximizing his touches. -
Well I can guarantee Edmunds didn’t see this coming! <ducks>
-
I really don't think he was just talking about the o-line. It's a holistic approach to better-protecting Beane's bosses' quarter-billion dollar investment which frankly is long overdue. I think this has been an issue for awhile - and I think it's the real area where McD became frustrated with Daboll, there were too many games where the gameplan featured slamming 17 into the defense over and over again, which feeds JA's competitive desires but is a recipe for disaster. They need a better interior line, a more coherent complimentary running game, a strategic approach to keeping JA healthy on offense, and short pass YAC artists who can minimize the need for JA to sit back there waiting to get blasted.
