  1. Ye Ole Cotton emailed him too! Surely this will sway the young man!
  2. Hopefully Trent packs a lunch, boyeeeeee!!!! Ye Ole Cotton's prediction: 2 TD's to TG! The offense hangs 31 on the Bolts while holding the ball for 40 minutes. The D holds the Bolts to 13 and everyone is amazed at how much better they look since the debacle in the desert. Perhaps it's because Trent brings a lunch and keeps our D off the field? An interesting concept, indeed. Despite not having a handle on the offense, Gonzalez will be a huge emotional lift in this game. When he enters the game, the Ralph will explode!
  3. When the gift of ODE TO CORNBREAD is brought to the board, it is truly a special time. One that must be celebrated.
  4. Trent steps up under center... The offense turns into a machine Feeling pressure all around him... Always keeps his jersey clean He plays with intuition... The opposing DB's fall That Hollywood Trent Edwards Sure plays a mean football! Trent is a football wizard, it's got to be a twist! A football wizard's got such a suppplllleee wrriiiiissstt!
  5. Oh Cincy... if only JP and the cover 2 could've buttered thine biscuit, perhaps then our cornbread would not have gone dry!
  6. After starting 4-0... Cornbread oh cornbread, why hath thou gone dry? For JP and the cover 2 could not butter Thine buscuit, and the fans were left to cry
  7. Deano, here's my take on this situation. There's a certain intangible quality of some QB's that lifts their team up to a higher level of play. I can't explain it, and it's not overly logical, but it is a phenomenon that goes part and parcel with the QB position. I really like JP, and I want JP to succeed. He really came to Buffalo and seemingly embraced the city and did all the right things. But, for some reason the guy gets in the game and this team becomes mediocre. JP wasn't at fault for much of today's drubbing, and he in fact made plays that Trent simply cannot. But, at the end of the day, I truly believe this team doesn't get beaten 41-17 today with Trent Edwards in the game. Why? I don't know. Why is Doug Flutie the only QB to lead this team to the playoffs in the 12 seasons since Kelly retired? I'm not particularly a fan of Doug Flutie, and RJ in many cases could make throws that Doug simply could not. But, at the end of the day, when RJ came into the game, disaster was looming on the horizon. I'm sure many will flame away at me for this post, and like I said, I really do like JP and concede that he made some great plays today to keep the Bills in the game early, but for whatever reason the machine just doesn't run nearly as well when he's inserted into the equation.
  8. I know Deano and Ye Ole Cotton would be sucking wind after a lap or two! Especially after an infamous night o' clubbin with Ye Ole Cotton!
  9. It was just a topic for discussion... something to talk about in the middle of the week. Not saying they WILL win it all, but I certainly am seeing signs of the pieces coming together to make another run at it.
  10. Simple question... If this team led by Trent Edwards is the one that finally brings a Super Bowl victory to Buffalo, where would it rank vs. the teams of the early 90's? I've been pondering this a great deal over the past couple of days and I must admit I'm not entirely sure. On one hand they would be the only Bills team to do it. In theory that should earn them the title of greatest Bills team ever. But on the other hand, there's a part of me that feels like no matter what this present or future Bills teams may accomplish, I'm always going to hold those early 90's teams in the highest regard. Or perhaps some of the more "mature" fans among us, hold the AFL Championship teams above the rest? Please discuss... what say you?
  11. Agreed. Buffalo to St. Louis is 744 miles, per MapQuest. Now we're talking city center to city center here, so give or take a few miles. You could make it in about 11 hours by automobile per the turn by turn directions. Now, using the airrouting.com website, we input the data, flying from Buffalo Niagara INTL to Lambert St. Louis INTL at an avg. speed of 460 Kts, it yields a trip time of 1 hour and 31 minutes. You were right on the money with 90 minutes Alaska Darin! Taking this into account, there is no reason at all not to come back to Buffalo. This isn't even in the realm of a questionable decision by Dick Jauron. Come home, get a week of practice in and go to AZ.
  12. No... and neither is Vince Young IMHO. Ultimately I think that's going to be the undoing of the Titans. They had a physical defense last year as well and played inspired football but it was the QB position that let them down to a large degree. As long as #5 stays healthy we'll have a very important edge at that all important position.
  13. Ye Ole Cotton was happy about being 4-0, especially with Denver and Dallas falling from the ranks of the unbeaten. But once again Capn' Ralonzo hath pissed in me corn flakes!
  14. Our time is NOW!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. It's amazing that we're seriously debating this right now. The fact that we are says a lot in and of itself.
  16. "Dallas has big oil and big blonde hairdo's... we have the Bills, that's who we are." Tell me there will be a dry eye in the house if we beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl this year.
  17. Hey CHRIS! What's goin on CHRIS? WAR! UH-OHHHHHH!!!! I won't call you CHRIS again? Bet I do! ... CHRIS! OUT!
  18. Billy Joe Hobert < Bobby Hebert <= Oil Can Boyd
  19. For what it's worth, Trent Dilfer in a later segment calls us a definite contender. Says Trent is mature beyond his years, plays his best football in crunch time. Goes on to say we're a very well coached team and have the best special teams in the NFL... bar none. Also called Broncos and Titans contenders (says Titans are best team in the AFC right now as he sees it)... calls Ravens pretenders.
  20. Don't know if anyone else saw the segment with Stuartt Scott, Steve Young, and Emmit after the game tonight. When asked if the Bills were for real Emmit basically laughed and acted like we are horrible. Claimed that the Raiders are terrible at best and Buffalo has played no one this year. He made it sound like we'll probably finish about 4-12 this year. Of course when talking about the Cowboys he started beaming and all but awarded them the Lombardi trophy. Not surprising at all... and I think we're all in agreement that Emmit sucks as an analyst, but all the same... what a MAROON!
  21. I actually like Josh Reed quite a lot. When he's focused and comes to play (which the older he gets the more consistent he becomes it seems to me) he is a very tough, gutsy WR that makes tough catches in traffic and runs for tough YAC. As I recall we were all enamored with Reed following his rookie season and felt he made Price expendable. He obviously wasn't ready for it at that time and needed some time to mature, IMHO. Reed may never be a superstar, but he's a guy that is very valuable to have on the roster. Trent seems to have very good chemistry with him as well. A lot of completions to Reed have moved the chains.
  22. This is getting serious around here Deano! If this keeps up, you and I may not have our annual debate over the interpretation of tiebreakers...
  23. Just my 2 cents... I think Edwards is going to be a hell of a lot better than Delhomme/Hasselbeck. I have nothing against those guys, and they are among the upper tier in the league, but Edwards is truly something special. The guy was flat out doing surgery out there Sunday. For nearly a decade we've sat and watched our team through many a frustrating loss, where we'd almost get to the QB... only to have him deliver a KO punch. We finally have THAT guy. Trent is that guy... when Jax was up 16-10 and needed to stop a 3rd and long... they ALMOST got to Trent... only to have him step to the side and connect with Evans 30 yds. down field. And you know what? For the first time since Kelly retired, I had no doubt whatsoever that we were going to get that first down and punch it in the end zone and win that game. I don't know what it is about this guy, but he definitely has IT. It took a long time to find the guy, but I think we not only found the guy... I think we've stumbled upon another GREAT QB. Flame away, but I maintain my position on this... Trent is going to be a great one, and we're watching it unfold before our eyes.
  24. The other thing to consider is that had the Bills not played so well and beaten Seattle and Jax, both of those teams would be 1-1 right now, each with a very narrow loss in their other games. Nobody would be writing them off as disappointing teams had Buffalo not taken it to them. Oakland is 1-1 right now, but does anyone really believe that the Raiders are better than Jax or Seattle at 0-2? This early in the season it's kind of a self fulfilling prophecy that the teams Buffalo beat have bad records, since that accounts for 50% of those teams losses.
