On the REAL Alphadawg... what in the hell did Brohm do to piss off this group of posters? Brohm looks like he could be a good QB, why is it a problem for these guys if he's on the roster? It's unbelievable that there is such passion about a guy that we gave nothing to get. It's not like if he doesn't pan out it's going to set our franchise back 5 years. Who cares? I think he could be good, as it seems like a majority here see as a possibility. If he doesn't pan out, who cares? He can be a backup. None of this has anything to do with how Trent plays. Hopefully whoever ends up starting puts it together. It just doesn't make sense... by no reports have any of these guys done anything but compete hard for the starting job. There's been no backstabbing, no locker room cancer type stuff. Yet you'd think we were in the midst of Flutie/Johnson here.

$15.00 Parking for Kids Game @ Hammer's lot
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now Mr. Hammer, if Ye shows up to your lot come game day is he going to have to pay the full $15 or will he receive Ye Ole discount? -
Where ya at Deano? We'll be anticipating you call in to Coach tonight.

Awesome stuff Promo. I know Coach was real excited about this fundraiser last week on his show. YE OLE has been catching the replay of his show the last several weeks, but will try to catch the live show tomorrow so YE can chime in on this stuff. Ya'll gotta hear Promo on Coach Sal... he's always carving it up with witty insight. He does TBD real proud!

Anyone heard what the QB rotation will be against the Bengals or when we will be made abreast of such?

Some very pointed opinions on the Bills:

For those who watched the NFL Network broadcast of this game and got the Redskins crew... Theisman was already in midseason form last night. I loved how they kept calling Joique Bell: Jordan Bell. Ironically, he has a son named Jordan. I think very late in the game they finally started getting it right. But aside from the bone crushing hits that Perry Ellis was out there making, there was one other Theismanism that just slayed me. When they were talking to Snyder did anyone catch how after we punted Theisman said the Skins got another INT and a big turnover it was? He went on and on... but aside from the obvious that there was no turnover... did you see the look he flashed Snyder when he said "and another big turnover for the defense!" His eyes lit up almost in a longing fashion for Mr. Snyder and it was downright creepy. I can't even describe it... if you have this game on TIVO you must go back and check this out. All in all, not a very entertaining game from a Bills fan perspective, but at least that clown brought some entertainment to the show.

Man... we in here talkin bout PRACTICE... not a game... not a game. PRACTICE -
Thanks for the advice. The thing I can't figure here is she wasn't at all hesitant to send me the P&L a day after telling me what she had "cleared" Then obviously she responded that you are allowed to show a loss for 5 years so she has shown that "on paper" Clearly something seems amiss here, but it's odd that the business has been in town for so long and is so well established. If it weren't for that fact alone, I would've never even pursued this.

As some of you may know YE OLE recently found himself joining the ranks of YE UNEMPLOYED. In light of this I am looking to go back into business for myself, and found an existing small business for sale. The business is a Dollar Store, and is in a small town and has modest sales. That being said it has been at this location for 20 years and has had 2 owners during this time. Seemingly, it has done well for them. When it recently came up for sale, I went in to talk to the woman who owns it and she claimed that the first 3 years she owned it she cleared 70-75k, while the last two years she has cleared in the mid 50k range, attributing the dip to the economy. She specifically stated that she cleared 53k last year. I became very interested, because she is desperate to sell as her mother has become very ill and requires 24 hour care, otherwise her plan had been to work the store another 5 years and then retire. Now, excuse my long winded intro. and on to the meat of the problem... I requested to see her P&L, and she obliged and promptly faxed me a copy of last year's statement. I was shocked as it read nothing like what I had expected. Here's a brief synopsis: Total Sales: 109,876.16 Total Cost of Goods Sold: 54,089.00 Gross Profit: 55,787.16 Now, the Operating Costs are broken down as follows: Payroll Expense: 18,612.85 Donation: 50.00 FICA: 1423.87 FUTA: 144.40 SUTA: 48.07 Advertising: 135.00 Bank Expense: 422.91 Car and Truck Expense: 1641.75 Depreciation Expense: 1810.00 Insurance (Business): 2012.00 Legal/Accounting Fees: 3004.42 Licenses and Permits: 31.00 Rent- Building: 15,600.00 Repair and Maintenance: 202.00 Office Supplies: 1605.76 Taxes (Property): 3291.49 Telephone: 1878.12 Utilities: 9048.65 TOTAL Operating Expense: 60,962.29 Net Operating Income: -5175.13 Interest Expense: 4053.35 Net Income: -9228.48 Now, YE OLE has previously been a small business owner, been a retail manager, as well as a manager of a bank. I like to think I know my way around a P&L, but what am I missing here? I did contact the owner after receipt of the statement and she told me that she has shown a loss on paper for each of the 5 years she has owned the business and you are allowed to a show a loss on a business for tax purposes for 5 years and that's what she has done. So... I'm throwing this out there, especially to any CPA's or lawyers amongst us, what am I missing or what are possible explanations for this? How could she legitimately be pulling 50-70k per year out of this?

The Enhanced Schedule
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last I heard, it will changeas early as 2012 if adopted. My gut tells me, however, that it will be adopted. I think the Toronto series contract runs through 2014 or so but alas Ye is not sure. -
Ye Ole got to thinking today... what impact will the enhanced schedule have on the Toronto series? If we are now down to only 2 preseason games, will they still play one in Toronto, or will there be 2 regular season games in Toronto, still leaving 7 at the Ralph? Obviously, there's been much speculation that more games would move to Toronto in the future anyway, but will this new schedule (and Ye believes that it will come to fruition) hasten such a decision. What say you?

Some interesting player observations from OTAs
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the link my round receptacle of beer... I think my favorite quote of the day came from Corny Green: “Trent is ready man, Trent is ready to go,” said Green after Tuesday’s practice. “He’s talking to us every day. We’re amongst him every day. We’re just trying to jell right now.” Corny went on to say... "Just his confidence man,” said Green. “He’s confident with what he wants to do. He wants to lead a team. He’s had some years in the league and he just wants to be able to get this team past that point of just being a good team and getting to the playoffs. He works with us every day. We eat breakfast together. We’re chatting with him so I’m looking forward to working with him.” The rest of the NFL best beware... Trent is no longer happy with us being just another good team... we're takin it to the next level! -
Bills historic starters - sad state of affairs
