  1. Ethan, my good fellow, YE OLE was speaking in terms of the comparison that Josh would demand out a la Stafford in Detroit. That comparison seems off base, because outside of KC (obviously Josh is not getting traded there), there isn’t another team that has had more success over the last 4 years. Whereas Stafford looked around and saw half the league as giving him a better chance to win than Detroit at that point in time. Now, you could argue that you would trade a few losing seasons to get one SB. Personally, I would rather take a shot at a dynasty than a one off championship, but I certainly understand those who differ in that sentiment.
  2. In Stafford’s 12 seasons with Detroit, the Lions only made the playoffs 3 times, losing all three wildcard games they played in. The Lions record over that time was 79-112-1. This comparison isn’t even close. We are all frustrated that we haven’t gotten back to the SB with Josh leading the way, and certainly not happy with the last couple weeks, but the team has been wildly successful. There’s every reason to believe that will continue.
  3. This Carter fellow might be THE WHIP, gents!
  4. You are spot on, per usual, Firebaugh Kid! During the 91 season, the Bills were 5-0 going into Arrowhead on a Monday night and lost 33-6. Thurman tells the story, that on the plane back to Buffalo it was silent. Then all of a sudden someone broke the silence by chanting and doing the Chiefs tomahawk chop which they had heard ad nauseum that night as they got pummeled. As Thurman recants this tale, gents, the plane erupted with laughter and they went home and thumped the Colts 42-6 the following week. Later that season, they beat the same Chiefs team 37-14 in the divisional round en route to getting back to the Super Bowl. Sometimes teams, no matter how great they are, just aren't ready to play on a given night. It happened to us last night. I think we will find that we are still contenders as the season goes on.
  5. I am, my good fellow. But most folks just call me YE OLE.
  6. [In the voice of Dusty Rhodes] Let me tell ya somethin’, baby, when you talk about hard times, you talk about them Buffalo Bills, and you talk about Brandon Beane puttin’ hard times on that wide receiver corps! Hard times is when ya got that superstar quarterback, Josh Allen, throwin’ those deep balls, but MVS—Marquez Valdes-Scantling, baby—he’s out there droppin’ passes like they’re hot potatoes in the fourth quarter! That’s hard times, daddy! And don’t get me started on Mack Hollins! Oh, Mack Hollins, he’s out there tryin’ to be the man, but instead of catchin’ passes, he’s out here runnin’ barefoot and eating spaghetti with his hands instead of gettin in the end zone, daddy! You can’t win games doin that, baby; you gotta catch that ball! Brandon Beane, he’s in the trenches, tryin’ to piece together this receiver corps, tryin’ to find that magic that’ll take them Bills to the promised land. But right now, they’re walkin’ through the valley of hard times, baby, where every drop, every misstep, every flex that don’t end in a touchdown—it’s all adding to them hard times! But lemme tell ya, the American Dream knows about hard times, and he knows they don’t last forever! Brandon Beane’s out there workin’ hard, scratchin’ and clawin’ to turn them hard times into high times, baby! The Bills Mafia’s standin’ tall, and we know, just like Dusty Rhodes, the Bills are gonna rise again, stronger, tougher, and ready to lay the smackdown on those hard times! If you will, daddy!
  7. It’s a real shot to the old FRANK & BEANS alright!
  8. This Dalton Kincaid fellow sounds like the REAL DEAL, gents!
  9. If potentially going to the CFL rattled his cage enough to put the work in, it could be a huge win for us. The guy obviously has the tools to be an elite receiver and actually has shown it on the field.
  10. There hasn’t been this much cockblocking around these parts since the days of Wood, Levitre, and Big Ed Wang.
  11. I’m sure he can’t wait to get a sack on Pat… or at least get a handful of his sack.
  12. You can do worse than Mitchy Biscuits at QB2 and we have been doing much worse.
  13. Perhaps McKittrick will come back.
  14. Scott, as others have said… there are no words. But, please know our prayers are with you and your family.
  15. Now if YE OLE was sitting down and hashing this out... YE would want to try to keep Daquan Jones, Rapp, and either Floyd or Epenesa. Rapp wasn't great (the int in Miami notwithstanding), but we need someone there that is not Cam Lewis or Hamlin, and he has a year in the system. Some of these guys like Dodson and Jackson if they don't find a market elsewhere would be ideal to keep, but not at significant cost. Spotrac has Gabe projected around $13.6 mil and Tee Higgins projected around $18.6 mil. If those numbers prove to be reasonably accurate, and the powers that be have any inkling to try to bring Gabe back, it would be great to take a swing at Higgins instead. YE OLE would still come back and take a swing at WR in the first rd too, gents!
  16. Lou Anarumo has really caused problems for Allen and Mahomes. If we created that kind of havoc on defense… last week and 13 seconds aren’t even close. Allen is every bit as good as Mahomes… at some point the ball will bounce our way in these close games, but our defense finding an answer would also put us over the top. I’m somewhere in the middle on McDermott, and this year he really was scraping the bottom of the barrel due to injuries, but his defense has allowed Mahomes and Burrow to go through it like a hot knife through butter. That has to change.
  17. Hopefully we get back to that game next year with a healthy Milano and Bernard. That alone would have made a huge difference. At some point we just gotta get it done…
  18. Praying for you and your family.
  19. Agreed… we are all hurting and frustrated beyond belief right now to be having these conversations instead of getting ready for another game, but this is an overreaction. Rivers was excellent, but Josh already has as many playoff wins as Rivers had in his entire career. Over a decent sample size now, Josh has played unbelievably well in the playoffs. Since Josh emerged as a superstar in 2020, this team is 48-18 with a +629 point differential. The Chiefs have the next best point differential over the last 4 seasons at +431. As heartbreaking as this ride has been… things will eventually level out to where they should be. Multiple games being moved and rescheduled, deadly weather, Hamlin dying and being revived on the field are all extraordinary circumstances. The Chiefs catching us without Milano, Bernard, Tre, and half our defense on the shelf won’t always happen either. All of that to say… Josh will win a ring, and probably a couple in Buffalo IMHO.
  20. Hard to disagree with that. Bass missing the FG wasn't even a blip on the radar. Bass having the yips is a problem, but it likely had no effect on the end of this game. There was close to 0 chance the defense was keeping the Chiefs out of FG range with the amount of time left.
  21. This is correct. And yesterday was as painful and yet numbing as ever. We're not even to a point where the long 7-8 months until next season even matters. Next year, we will have some set of circumstances that will go our way or not go our way and win 11-14 games, and at no point during the season will any of it mean anything. We are going to have to wait a year to get back to this place again and have another kick at the can and hope that we are not ravaged with injuries. More than likely Josh is going to outperform the QB on the other side of the field (even if it is Mahomes). As others have stated... it would be shocking if McDermott gets fired, whether he should or not. It's going to be a long wait to get another crack at this.
  22. Touchbacks are not great, but even worse would be getting a Matt Haack Special off the side of his foot for 15 yards while backed up in our end.
  23. Josh turned on the afterburners and that was all she wrote, gents!
