TLDR: Josh Allen is THE WHIP, gents!

YE OLE can get on board with this to some extent... and you are right that defenses have been getting torched, including our own once sterling defensive unit. However, what might give one hope that this streak Allen is on isn’t reliant on poor defense has been the quality of plays he has made. The 3rd and 22 to Beasley while getting flushed out of the pocket, the pass to Diggs down the sideline that somehow just floated into his hands with the defender draped all over him, and the laundry list of other ridiculous runs/throws Allen has made haven’t always just been poor defense. If Allen’s game now includes precision ball placement, he truly might be a generational talent.

What’s good, gents? What’s good? Since McDermott took over, the defense has been excellent, but has gone through periods like this where they put up a few clunkers. That 3 week stretch in 2017 where we were losing 50-3 every week was enough for YE OLE to start thinking McBean wouldn’t see year 2. But somehow McDermott and his staff always get it back together. As bad as it’s looked for stretches these last couple of weeks, there’s very good reason to believe that this defense starts playing lights out again and McDermott talks about going back to watch the tape, making corrections, PROCESS, etc. If that does happen and Allen is apparently an MVP level QB, it’s probably not going to go very well for the rest of the teams on our schedule.

That’s what YE OLE heard as well. First Nate nonchalantly dropped it in that Edmunds was out. Then a few minutes later corrected it and cited the fake account. Then probably 15 minutes later they reported it again on their sports ticker between segments. Folks need to get things straightened out over there!

Victory Formation, my good friend, you are spot on per usual! YE OLE believes these talking heads on TV that consistently talk about Buffalo being a "power running" team and relying on the defense and all this could not be further from the truth. The Bills may have an elite defense, but they are not building an offense to ground and pound. This is year 3 of Allen, who they picked to be their franchise QB. Not only should he be able to start winning games with his arm, they need to see it this year to start determining his future. Obviously the addition of Diggs only adds to the fact that they plan on airing it out. There may be games or stretches where it gets dialed back per the game plan, but YE OLE thinks it is a certainty that we will see more games where Josh gets 46+ attempts this year and if he is who we think he is, he will eclipse 400 yards.

Looking over this thread, YE OLE has been asking himself “what sort of picks do we need to ship to Jax and what sort of cabbage must we pay this Fournette fellow?” It seems like the sum of picks + cabbage may be excessive for a fellow who has been decent but far from all pro level at a highly replaceable position. Gents, something appears to be unsavory in the woodshed here vis-à-vis this trade speculation.
