  1. Oh for sure! He's def a solid guy for when Trubisky's down. And maybe OP just meant upgrade over DiNucci or Brown. But I feel like White is/was talked about as a Trubisky replacement and that just isn't happening, whether people like it or not.
  2. He'd be a Practice Squad guy. Trubisky isn't going anywhere on the contract they signed him to. Bad Pre-Season with a closed playbook changes nothing. They knew who he was when they signed him. Edit: Just noticed they did sign him to the PS.
  3. Absolutely worth it. I'd be looking into it and releasing our 6th Defensive End or 4th Middle Linebacker if we could pull it off, if there's no one to PUP or IR.
  4. I think people put way too much stock into Pre-Season games. I barely pay attention to them these days outside of who is unexpectedly running with 1's (like Andreessen) and who they're protecting, especially in the last game. Every year people fall in love with play against 3's in the 3rd and 4th Quarters and freak out that they didn't make it. It really doesn't matter how they perform if they're low man in the pecking order numbers wise. What they're seeing in Practice and how they're picking up the playbook weighs more than what they do in a Pre-Season game. There were a ton of people who wanted to cut Shakir in favor of Isabella last season just because he did more against guys who would be on the street in a week. I just go back to that if they felt Hardy was the stud he's being made out to be - they wouldn't have traded for Codrington. It's silly to look at 10 targets on a late 6th Round Pick against 2's and 3's and act like it's some insane miscarriage of justice that he didn't make it over someone with years of experience in the system.
  5. And I'll admit, I didn't watch every Pre-Season snap or focus on him. They had him on the Outside? That's surprising to me as he was a Nickel Draft Prospect. Seems like it was just a numbers game. Behind Benford, Douglas, and Elam - they preferred Ingram and Lewis over him. Lewis being listed as a Safety, but would definitely be the next CB they call up if there were 1 or 2 injuries as he's played just as much there as Safety. So it came down to KR being the most important thing for that last spot. Especially when none of the WR's or Safeties are guys you'd put back there (maybe Shakir but they probably don't want to expose him to that). Or Codrington, who I know even less about, impressed them more at the CB position as well as KR duties.
  6. They just traded for another Rookie KR/CB in Brandon Codrington. If they liked what they saw out of Hardy, they wouldn't have made that move. For him to come back on the 53, we'd have to keep 7 CB's or cut Ja'Marcus Ingram. Possible, but I don't see it. To me trading for Codrington was a swap out move.
  7. 8. Yeah, none of those have been officially announced. And you left off Casey Toohill and Travis Clayton as well. I'm at officially 63 rn with your list plus McKitty, Bills, Couch, Clayton, and Toohill.
  9. Exactly. I get that some fans are depressed that they chose to Draft Coleman and sign Hollins and MVS on the Outside and want more. But I can't wrap my head around being negative towards them and looking at Tim Patrick as a positive.
  10. Ulofoshio is played at OLB. Andreessen was played at MLB. So it won't come down to those two. At OLB, we just have Dorian Williams and Edefuan Ulofoshio. Which is kinda scary. So Ulofoshio isn't going anywhere. What it's ultimately going to come down to, if it's an either or situation, is him vs. Morrow or him vs. Spector, if he isn't going to PUP him and they're only keeping 5. Right now, I think he's probably safe as with Spector injured and Jones released, we only have 5 healthy LB's and that's the minimum we keep.
  11. I don't have a violent bone in my body and deescalate conflicts that could lead to a fight at all times. Practically anyone could kick my ass - if they could catch me.
  12. To the team that has the highest pick that will take me. The higher you go, the more utilized you'll be (so long as you deliver as expected) and the more money you'll make. The decision is completely out of my hands, so why concern myself with anything else? So i'd worry about other things like team success and location with my second contract - where i'd hopefully be able to match expected financials with the best situation.
  13. Has any reporter posted a full list of the players that sat out today, beyond just the starters?
  14. I had him as WR10 leading into the Draft. I took a lot of flack for it. But during the Draft, even I was surprised he fell as far as he did. I had him as a mid-late 2nd Round Pick. When I watched him, what I saw was someone who had a flashy looking highlight reel. But down to down, I saw a guy who's speed didn't come until late in the route. He had a hard time at the line, often against non-NFL level Cornerbacks. Then he came to the Combine and solidified that with the worst 10 yard split of anyone, including Keon Coleman. And then a slower than expected 40. And unimpressive jumps. And the worst route running at a Combine that I've maybe ever seen, specifically in the gauntlet. He tried to argue it was because he was sick... but then he stood by his times at his Pro Day instead of re-testing. That was extremely head scratching to me. If you're saying you tested poorly bc you were sick, why wouldn't you do it over at your Pro Day? It came out later that on top of his film (which again, I thought was over hyped on this board) and poor physical testing - he also bombed the interviews. Reportedly not impressing team officials to a point where they wondered if he even likes playing Football. Even after all that, we brought him back in to have a workout do-over in Buffalo, which is almost unheard of for a Draft Prospect of his caliber. The fact that we weren't interested even at the bottom of Round 3 says to me, nothing changed with that workout. When you take that all into account, it's not surprising to me that he fell to the 4th Round. I wonder how far he would have fell if Denver had not taken him? As I think the fact that they Drafted his QB Bo Nix in Round 1 played a major factor. The fact that they are now thinking of red shirting him after spending a high 4th Round Pick on him (as you don't often see a Rookie above mid Round 5 getting that designation) and even pairing him with the QB he found success with in College?... yick. In my opinion, people really need to stop talking about him as an unforgivable missed opportunity. He simply was never the Draft prospect certain people around here made him out to be Pre-Draft.
  15. That's not going to happen. We don't have the money to take on their contract and don't have the ways to come up with that money. You have to be able to take on their current contract before you can restructure it.
  16. We don't need another Slot. Samuel, Kincaid, Shakir are our top known WR's. All most naturally suited for the Slot. If we were to add anything, it would be someone who would be an upgrade to Hollins or MVS - opposite Coleman.
  17. The ship has passed on any big move like Aiyuk, Adams, or Lamb. When we started the Offseason, analysts listed all the different moves we could do to come up with the most cap space possible. We released, re-structured, or extended everyone we had that was an option to do to get where we could already. Save for two moves: a re-structure of Ed Oliver and Matt Milano. Milano was obviously not done because they wanted to see how he bounced back from injury. Considering what happened to him, they're *definitely* not going to do that now. As for a second Josh re-structure, I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't know why he didn't do the full amount. But if he wanted to take more than he did there, he'd have done it then when we were trying to find money anywhere we could. And he's *never* re-structured a contract twice in the same offseason. We could still restructure Ed Oliver and save 3.9m. Added to what we have, that would bring us to 11.4m. But we have to subtract around 6 from that for the cost of the Practice Squad and the In Season Spending Pool. So even with an Oliver re-structure, we'd only have about 5.5m to spend. The problem with a Trade is that you have to take on the contract from the trading team for the trade to be approved. Meaning if you can't take on the cap hit of their current contract, the trade won't go through with the league. Most people miss this fact and just say "we can renegotiate or extend them and make Year 1 peanuts". That's only something you can do after you've taken on their current deal, without going over the cap. And when it comes to Aiyuk, Adams, and Lamb - we simply don't have the space and can't come up with it to get a trade approved. Exactly this. If we're to add anyone right now, it would be someone from this list. And I'd add Isaiah McKenzie as a possible cut that they may bring in to the Practice Squad in a pinch.
  18. Just from a contract standpoint, that's fairly obvious. They gave Kyle a 1 year deal for 1m with 350k guaranteed. They gave Mitch a 2 year deal worth 3m with 2.7m guaranteed, when they could have re-signed Kyle instead. If Kyle is released and if Mitch isn't ready to roll Week 1, I can see us bringing him back on the Practice Squad and activating him until Mitch is ready. But make no mistake about it, Mitch is our Backup and is going to be our Backup - like it or not.
  19. At the moment, yes. But most teams only keep 2 on the Main Roster these days and he isn't making it over Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. It's almost a forgone conclusion he'll be cut. Either way, the reported issue for Mitch is a 3-4 week injury and Week 1 will be 3 weeks from the injury. Fans who are hoping for something bigger or him to be replaced are setting themselves up for disappointment.
  20. Last thing I saw (tweet from the "Thigh Doctor") suggests he'll probably be ready to go Week 1. If he isn't, they'd probably just grab Kyle Allen back for a week or two after he's let go.
  21. Seems like he's mobile: https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Anthony-Brown-QB-Oregon
  22. Nothing announced beyond his signing.
  23. Just an arm for the Pre-Season with Mitch down. But he'll have a chance to compete with DiNucci for the Practice Squad QB, with Buechele on IR.
  24. If you condense the set, someone is still going to be on the Outside lined up on a Boundary CB.
  25. I get the feeling Tannehill is happy sitting at home and waiting for a starter to get injured or for someone to pay his number. He's not on the couch just hoping for any backup job. If that were the case, someone would have signed him by now.
