Somebody please tell me that Roscoe Parrish
BillsFanForever19 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I work for Dick's Sporting Goods in Rochester (Marketplace Mall location) and we have IN STOCK, Roscoe Parrish #11 Throwbacks. They almost never OFFICIALLY release a draft pick's jersey for sale until that player has made a final decision on his number. -
Bears | Jones Waived Tue, 28 Jun 2005 14:49:51 -0700 Larry Mayer, of Chicago Bears.com, reports the Chicago Bears have waived PK Tyler Jones. -Everyone here was very high on this kid, as was I. I was shocked that he wasn't drafted as everyone had him as the 2nd best Kicker coming out of the draft besides Nugent. He became expendable after the Bears signed Paul Edinger. I would LOVE for him to tryout for Buffalo. Chiefs | Contract Was Offered to Law Mon, 27 Jun 2005 22:29:46 -0700 Updating ongoing reports, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King, free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots) has confirmed that he turned down a big-money contract offer from the Kansas City Chiefs earlier in the offseason. "Before they signed (CB Patrick Surtain), the Chiefs gave me, like, a $42 million offer. But it was structured so bad that I'd probably only make $10 million before they'd cut me. So I didn't do it.'' -Do I really have to say anything about that? If anyone thinks TD is going to give Law a better offer than that then they're high! -I work at the Dick's location of Marketplace Mall in Rochester. Today when I came in I noticed that they had a bunch of #11 throwback jersey's on the shelf. They were Roscoe Parrish jerseys. I thought this was a little odd because we usually don't see them until the player is signed. But I thought i'd just pass that along.

Interesting KFFL Notes & Opinions
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He hasn't resigned with them and has no-showed mini-camp along with Javon Walker. But Green Bay slapped a Transition tag on him so it will be difficult for someone else to sign him. We did it with Spikes, but he REALLY wanted out of Cincinnatti. I think Bubba just wants some more cash. -
NFL | Big Money Not There for Boulware Fri, 24 Jun 2005 19:12:13 -0700 John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports free agent LB Peter Boulware (Ravens) is struggling to get an offer in excess of $1 million in the post-May free agency market. Reportedly, some teams remained concerned with Boulware's health. Boulware hasn't played in more than a year due to knee and toe injuries. NFL | Verba Receiving Minimum Salary Offers Fri, 24 Jun 2005 13:52:46 -0700 Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports free agent OT Ross Verba (Browns) has suggested he wants a contract worth $6-7 million per year, but has seen only minimum-salary offers so far. Texans | Still Trying to Land Verba? Fri, 24 Jun 2005 18:36:50 -0700 John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Houston Texans remain interested in free agent OT Ross Verba (Browns), but are unwilling to offer more than a one-year contract to the offensive tackle. As reported, Verba has said he's seeking a five-year contract worth in the neighborhood of $37.5 million. Lions | Unlikely to Sign Law Fri, 24 Jun 2005 10:22:08 -0700 FOXSports.com reports while Detroit Lions team president Matt Millen would still like to sign free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots), the Lions could only afford him at a low price, which is unlikely to happen. Jaguars | More on Law Visit Fri, 24 Jun 2005 06:06:56 -0700 Vito Stellino, of the Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said the Jaguars' staff had dinner with free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots) Wednesday night, June 22 before he worked out Thursday, June 23. "We had a good visit and we'll continue to monitor the situation,'' he said. Del Rio declined to comment on the condition of Law's foot injury that sidelined him the second half of last year. Chiefs | Still Monitoring Law Fri, 24 Jun 2005 13:55:18 -0700 Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Kansas City Chiefs continue to monitor the recovery of free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots). I know we don't need a LB with Spikes and Fletcher here. But god damn! Peter Boulware can't get a $1 million contract?! With Posey becoming a UFA soon and him not producing very well, why not sign Boulware cheap? Spikes, Fletcher, and Boulware? That would be crazy! I think Ross Verba is going to learn VERY soon that he's not going to make anywhere's near what he thought he was going to. Once he admits that to himself, I think TD wouldn't be wrong in signing him for 1.5 mil a year. I put in that stuff about Ty Law for all the people here that want the Bills to sign him so badly. He's been recieving minimum contract offers from the Dolphins and others. The Lions want him but can't afford him. He'll most likely land in Jacksonville or Kansas City. It's a lot more likely that we'll see Bobby Taylor in a Bills uni then Law.

Anyone want Bobby Taylor?
BillsFanForever19 replied to HurlyBurly51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think the guy is finished. Looking at his stats from last season, he doesn't look that bad. Do I think he should be our #1 guy? No. But for depth, it couldn't hurt to have him as our #2 or #3. Honestly, i'm not that sold on Terrence McGee as a solid starter. -
LT Wayne Gandy may be a salary cap casualty
BillsFanForever19 replied to Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One way or another huh? lol Honestly, I think i'll pass on an LT who is the same age as Sam Adams and Marshall Faulk. -
Has anyone ever called you a dick before? Just wondering
-
Are you saying you like Charlie Frye in Round 2 over Aaron Rodgers in Round 1? Interesting suggestion. I disagree however. I'd much rather have Losman/Parrish or Rodgers/Clayton then Frye/Clayton.
-
Now before you start pouring gasoline on me and lighting a match, hear me out. I am a J.P. Losman fan. I'm even wearing a Losman away jersey as we speak (that I bought last year at training camp before he was named starter and everyone and their mother bought one. But that's another story for another time). But I started looking over the drafts from this year and last year and it got me thinking. What if we had never made the trade for J.P.? What would this year's draft look like? Who could we have picked with last year's 2nd? Well first of all, J.P. Losman would be a member of the Green Bay Packers. We would have kept the 52nd pick in the draft. At that spot we could have picked Michael Boulware at Safety, Nate Kaeding could have been our Kicker this year, or if we were really hell-bent on drafting a QB of the future in '04; we could have snagged Matt Schaub in Round 2 or 3. But i'd have gone a different route...... We would have kept pick #20 in 2005. With that we could have drafted Matt Jones or Mark Clayton. I bet we'd have picked Jones, but I think Clayton would have been a better pick. From there, we could have EASILY done the same trade we did on 2004 for Losman in 2005. We may have even gotten away with trading less than we did last year, this year. With Losman a Packer, Aaron Rodgers falls even farther than #24. We package 2006's 1st with 2005's 2nd and Aaron Rodgers is our QB of the future. Of course then we're stuck with Bledsoe. A horrible tragedy; or is it?...... With Bledsoe back on board, we'd have the opportunity to pick up exactly where we left off the year before. But this time, if he began to faulter; we'd have Kelly Holcomb or Aaron Rodgers to take over. So the question is, which would you prefer?: What we have: J.P. Losman Roscoe Parrish (Nothing in 2004 Rd. 2) (2006 1st Rounder) What we could have had: Aaron Rodgers Matt Jones/Mark Clayton Michael Boulware/Nate Kaeding/Matt Schaub (No 2006 First Rounder) I like what we have and am a J.P. Losman fan. But honestly, it's tough to say that I definitely wouldn't have gone without the Losman trade.

LJ Shelton's salary
BillsFanForever19 replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting..... If he was willing to go that cheap then I just don't understand why we didn't even bother bringing him in. Then again, we signed Gandy at $540,000 so I guess we shouldn't even bother if someone wants more than $750,000. -
Verba Officially Free
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'VE HEARD OF HIM!!! He allowed less than a hand full of tackles last year and was injury free. He's a good to very good career starting LT. There would be no drop off between him and Jonas Jennings. Combined with the upgrade to Bennie Anderson at LG and I think we'll finally have a solid offensive line. -

Not to sound coldhearted or anything, but i'm not really concerned about what happens off the field. If the guy can play LT good, I don't care. From what i've read, the incidents that happened didn't involve him. They just happened at his house. It's very easy to throw a party or two and have someone bad in the crowd. Not to mention, it's all hear say with no evidence. The guy is a badass Left Tackle and Buffalo is a team without a quality Left Tackle. Git r' Done TD!! -

Browns | Case Closed in Sexual Assault at Verba's Home - from www.KFFL.com Wed, 8 Jun 2005 10:47:47 -0700 WKYC.com reports a case involving an alleged sexual assault at the home of Cleveland Browns OT Ross Verba has been closed. Police have said they have found "insignificant evidence" to prosecute the case, and the case will be closed with no charges. Verba was not a prospect in the case. You are mistaken mon ami. -

His agent has stated he's looking for a "Multi-Year" deal. I definitely wouldn't like to sign him to a 1-year deal. I think if we can get him then we should hold on to him. Especially since Moulds' contract has him making $9 mil next year, Clements is a FA, and a list of others as well. We don't want to throw finding a new LT on top of that mess do we? -
Browns | Verba Opts Out - from www.KFFL.com Thu, 9 Jun 2005 06:20:51 -0700 Updating an ongoing story, the Plain Dealer's Tony Grossi reports Cleveland Browns OT Ross Verba has bought himself his freedom from the Browns. He agreed to return a $465,000 roster bonus paid by the club in March in to gain his release. The paperwork was processed Wednesday, June 8. After the formality of a 24-hour period on waivers, Verba will seek to find a new team as a free agent. As a vested NFL veteran, Verba can reject a waiver claim and opt for free agency. "If we're successful in attracting a multiyear deal, I assume he's going to want to make visits and talk to coaches," agent Tom Condon said. "We're certainly cognizant of teams that look to have a need at the position and we hit them off the bat. We also go through the remainder of the other 31 teams." I think Ross is going to find that no one is going to be willing to pay the money he's asking. Houston's probably going to try to take a run at him as they did with Shelton. But if he's willing to take $4 mil a year for the next 4 or 5 years, TD would be a retard not to sign him. There is no way I feel comfortable with Mike Gandy at LT. And yes...... i've heard of him

Oh Man! 2006 Contract Year Galore!
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True. The team must be built around JP, McGahee, and Evans. They're our answer to Kelly, Thurman, and Andre (god willing). But to say we should just let everyone loose and build a new team is pretty out there. And for the love of god FFS, condense your thoughts a little! My ADD kicks in at about the 30th paragraph. Denney may have improved but do you really think he has earned a new contract? -

Here's how I look at it: Moulds: There's a lot of variables here. I love Moulds but he has been showing a slow decline. I think Lee Evans will be our #1 guy by next season. If Moulds is willing to re-structure then HELL YEAH he must stay! But if he shows more decline and isn't willing then i'd say we'd have to trade him and draft ANOTHER WR with our first pick in 06 to join Evans and Parrish Nate Clements: I would love for him to be back. I don't care how much it costs. But I just don't think it will happen. He's definitely priority #1 in my book, even before Moulds. Trey Teague: I think drafting Duke Preston spelled the end of his days in Buffalo. Unless we switch him to tackle. Ron Edwards: After the loss of Pat Williams, I don't think we can afford to lose another DT. Especially when you consider Sam Adams' age. But I guess i'm alone in feeling this. We'll see how he performs this year and re-evaluate. Ryan Denney: Get the F-CK outta here! Josh Reed: See Ryan Denney Justin Bannan/Lawrence Smith: This is just getting repetitive Kevin Thomas: Honestly IMO with Troy Vincent switching to Safety, I feel as if we're thin at CB. I've always felt that McGee is no better than a 3rd and a 5th round pick isn't going to help much right now. Thomas is a great special teamer and I think he has to be re-signed. Especially if we can't get Nate back. Daimon Shelton: I really like Daimon. He's an awesome blocker for Willis and he's really been consistent. If he'll re-sign at a reasonable rate, then GIT R' DONE TD! Jon Dorenbas: I could go either way. I like him but at the same time I don't know how much I like maintaining a spot for a Long Snapper. Whatever happens here doesn't really matter to me. -

Titans Up Offer For Henry
BillsFanForever19 replied to envirojeff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Had we offered up TH at THAT time, we probably would have gotten a 1st for him. But at THIS time, RB's are a dime a dozen. The draft was so rich at the position, that most teams filled their needs with guys like Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Cadillac Williams, J.J. Arrington and others. Then you have Shaun Alexander and Edge James perhaps looking to be moved and Ricky Williams coming back to the Dolphins who spent the 2nd pick overall on a RB. Supply and demand mon ami. There's a whole lot of supply and not a lot of demand. This year's offer of a 4th is like last year's offer of a 2nd or 1st.
