  1. They might move him. But not to us. We don't need Edge. It's like I said all off-season, you could get Myles Garrett and with our CB's, Safeties, LB's, and our scheme that's been figured out - it wouldn't matter. The balls out too quickly for them to get home. For example, Joey Bosa is getting consistent pressure. It doesn't matter with what we've got behind him: We have Michael Hoecht coming to us after the Bye. We've got Joey Bosa and Groot. You think we're moving Groot who we just paid 80m, to an off the bench role? Hoecht as our 4th DE after the contract we gave him? We haven't had a single injury at DE, we're good there. We've had 3 injuries at DT and I don't even think we need to make a move there. With all the problems we have at WR, CB, S, and LB - going balls to the wall for Hendrickson would be ridiculous. If you can pull off Hendrickson, you can pull off multiple pieces where we actually need help.
  2. This isn't real. It was part of a 7 picture photo dump he did of pictures of himself that mean nothing. And the person who made the tweet edited the image for click bait purposes. He zoomed in on the Bills logo and his feet. The real image is this:
  3. Bc he was the 53rd man on the 53 and we have too many injuries elsewhere. We'll need to call up someone at DT. Yes, we'll get Larry Ogunjobi. But we're down Daquan Jones, T.J. Sanders, and Dewayne Carter from our initial 53. We need at least one more in addition to Ogunjobi. Considering we're now down 2 1T's from our initial 53 and that Ogunjobi leans more 3T, my guess is that it was done to make room for Zion Logue - who has no more Practice Squad call ups left.
  4. No one's saying Gabe's a savior. No one's saying elevating Gabe is the only thing we need to do at WR. But if you think, if healthy, he'd provides less than Tyrell Shavers or Elijah Moore - you're crazy. There's a difference between a player who isn't someone you want starting (Gabe) and a player who is giving us absolutely nothing (Shavers, Moore). And as for him not being signed by anyone else until we signed him to the Practice Squad, most teams aren't in the practice of signing players who are injured. They usually visit with the player and check in on their rehab (as the Steelers, Saints, and 49ers did) and circle back when they're ready to play.
  5. Sanders? Do you mean Shavers? I'll take the guy who might do that at times, but who's career lows with us were 35 receptions, 549 yards, and 6 TD's - over the guy who's on pace for 14 receptions for 140 yards, with a 50% catch rate. Shavers might not "cause" interceptions - but that's because he's consistently not getting open and consistently not being thrown to because of it. Moore and Shavers are providing us with absolutely nothing. Coleman is providing not a whole lot more, but he's not going anywhere. Samuel is here one second gone the next. And now Palmer is "week to week". Davis isn't going to save us. But he's an upgrade over a number of players we're rolling with right now.
  6. I understand being upset about what we've gotten from Coleman, especially over the past couple games. And I can get with the idea of feeling like he's a lost cause bc he can't get separation. But to call him the 5th Best WR on this team when we've been getting the kind of "contributions" we've been getting from guys like Tyrell Shavers, Elijah Moore, and the often injured Curtis Samuel is total hyperbole. If we had a halfway decent WR core, he could be the 5th Best WR. But he's no worse than #3 with the kind of lacking WR room we have. Which to say he's the 3rd Best WR in one of the worst (if not, the worst) WR rooms in the NFL isn't much of a defense. But to say he's worse than 2/3 of whatTyrell Shavers, Elijah Moore, and Curtis Samuel are bringing is to be purposely obtuse.
  7. Exactly. The problem with a ground and pound offense is you still need to have people that the Defense respects in the Passing game. The run sets up the pass and the pass sets up the run. We certainly have a running game people respect. But bc of the lack of pass catchers that can get open, it's become really easy for teams to key in on Cook and no one can win even one on one to punish them for that.
  8. You need more than Kincaid and Shakir in the passing game. As we saw against Atlanta, one of them goes down, the other is focused on, and no one else can step up. Maybe Palmer or Samuel could have provided more in the second half. But clearly Coleman, Moore, Shavers, and Knox equates to nothing. The problem is clearly that teams have realized since the first few weeks that we have no one who can get open on any sort of consistent basis. So focus on containing Cook as best you can and force Josh to have to beat us with his downfield passing options. Even Shakir has difficulties getting open. Most of his big plays are YAC on quick passes. The week before Kincaid was the only guy getting open with any sort of consistency. Really need someone else in here. Especially with Palmer down for a while.
  9. Besides the fact that he's never coached or "consulted" before, so we have no idea of whether he'd be good in that role. Besides the fact that there's no indication it's something he's ever had an interest in. Why would he want to? He's making more money now for less work as an analyst (on top of other media appearances). He'd have to give that up if he wanted to have any official role on that side of a team.
  10. McDermott today said everyone save for Daquan Jones and Josh Palmer is Day to Day. So we'll have Samuel back after the Bye. How long we'll have him, that's something else entirely.
  11. Nico Collins is a Pipe Dream. Might as well start talking about Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson if you're talking about Nico Collins. He's a 26 year old stud #1 WR that they signed to a 3 yr, 73m extension just last year. They lost Diggs and Dell. He's far and away the most important part of their Offense and they don't have much else. He isn't going anywhere. Just bc the Texans aren't winning right now doesn't mean they're going to tear things down like teams like the Saints.
  12. Letting Edmunds walk was the right move. Especially since he wanted to test Free Agency and we'd have had to match or beat the offer Chicago made. Drafting his replacement in Bernard in the 3rd Round was the right move. Signing Edmunds' replacement to a long term deal, paying Bernard decent money was the *wrong move*. With how Bernard regressed in 2024 and how he's playing in 2025, the right move was to save that cap and Draft Bernard's replacement, like we did with Edmunds. It's insane to me after taking a step back last year that they rushed to extend him before they had to. I'd have definitely at the very least waited on seeing how his 2025 went before thinking about doing it. His play since 2024 is not difficultly replaced. Middle Linebacker is not a premium position. You can find a top MLB prospect without spending a 1st. Very possible you could have upgraded with a 2nd or 3rd and kept some money for upgrades elsewhere.
  13. But again, as I, and even the poster I was replying to stated - Samuel has negative trade value. His contract is why he's still here and why no one would trade for him. Moore is on a 1 year deal for pennies. Acquiring team would take on about a million and be free of him after this season. Samuel is on a 2 year deal. Acquiring team would take on about 7 million this year and would have to be on the hook next season for more as well. So, again, if Moore is easier and cheaper to trade than Samuel - why would we choose to pay more in compensation to acquire Shaheed or Olave when we could pay less with Moore? Especially when Samuel is the better player. Or long story short - Moore and his contract is someone that the Saints would take. Samuel and his contract is not. It's not a question of whether you make a deal, it's a question of do I think the Saints would want to take on his contract? The answer is no and if they did take him, we'd have to pay them more in compensation than we would with Moore for it.
  14. I just don't see Samuel being the traded WR in a move that would involve us sending one. When he's healthy (which to be fair, isn't often) he provides more and gets open more than Elijah Moore. So why would we move the better player and pay more to do it? Moore wouldn't have been active this week had Samuel not gotten dinged. And for a speed guy, he just *cannot* get open to save his life. He's a much easier trade piece bc he's on a 1 year deal with a small contract. In my eyes, you make a deal for Olave or Shaheed and you elevate Gabe Davis when he's ready and you move on from Elijah Moore and Tyrell Shavers - who are providing nothing.
  15. If you mean the first week as in the first week he's activated, absolutely. He'll be on a snap count where if all goes well, he'll get continually more over a span of a few weeks. But if you mean the first week as in the first week off of his practice window opening up he'll be playing in a game - no. They aren't going to dress him until he's practiced with the team for at least two weeks.
  16. This is what he means by managing expectations. What you're wanting isn't what's going to happen. You can't expect a Rookie who missed half of Training Camp, all of the Pre-Season, and hasn't practiced with the team since July to a.) Play the week his practice window opens up and b.) Immediately play a large amount of snaps. He'll have his practice window opened up. Then he'll get a week of Practice, be inactive that week, get the next week of Practices, and maybe they'll activate him for that game. Though it wouldn't surprise me to see McDermott want him to get all 21 days in before activating him to play. And then when they do activate him, at least that first week (probably multiple weeks), they'll be cycling him in on a snap count to get his sea legs under him. They aren't going to change his development plan and possibly hinder it by pushing him before they think he's ready, based on panicking over Tre. I wouldn't expect him to start until like Week 11 or 12 at the earliest and that's if all goes swimmingly. If you want Tre out of the lineup now, you have to cross your fingers for them bringing in another vet in FA or Trade.
  17. Better hope that McDermott isn't speaking for Beane here otherwise we're in for a long season:
  18. Samuel and Moore alone aren't getting us Olave. I'd doubt anyone would take Samuel given the cost remaining on his deal being not worth what you're getting (which is why we're kind of stuck with him). We could package Moore with Draft capital. But the Draft capital would be the meat and potatoes of the deal to get it done. Moore isn't getting you much of anything and Samuel would get you nothing. You'd essentially have to pay them more to take his contract off your hands.
  19. If only. This is for Hoecht and Ogunjobi and a temporary call up from the PS for injuries who will be a placeholder for Hairston until he's ready and people get healthy. An Olave or Shaheed trade would involve moving on from one of our WR's as part of the deal or as a release to make room. We aren't going to be carrying 7 WR's.
  20. You must have forgotten someone or are misreading Jalen Kimber's release from the Practice Squad as a release from the 53 because we don't have 4 roster spots. We had 2 with Hamlin and Sanders going to IR and now 3 on the 53 with Ciarlo being released. And we now have 1 spot open on the Practice Squad. We haven't opened Hairston's practice window yet and we have 21 days after we do before we have to put him on the roster. And we're likely to give him at least two weeks of practice before we stick him on the field. Obviously, two of those spots are for Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi. The third I'd *expect* to be Zion Logue for depth at 1T temporarily with Jones down.
  21. They aren't going to trade for 2 WR's. We'll be lucky to get 1 done. The best we can realistically hope for as far as change in the WR room is pulling off a move for Chris Olave and elevating Gabe Davis in place of Tyrell Shavers and Elijah Moore.
  22. While I agree a scheme change is necessary, the idea that we're going to switch out of McDermott's personal Tampa 2 Style Zone Defensive scheme seems about as likely to me as Rex Ryan switching out of a 3-4. A leopard doesn't change it's spots. These Defensive coaches live and die by "their Defense". We could acquire players that might perform better than what we're getting out of guys like Tre White, Taylor Rapp, and Cole Bishop. And maybe it would improve a little. But the bigger problem to me is that it seems like the blueprint to dismantling McDermott's Defense has been published for mass consumption and is on every team's desk.
  23. I can understand saying White. But I don't think the plan was to start him long term and stick with him no matter what though. The injuries to Hairston and Strong forced this. But I'm really lost on why you think Gabe Davis, who is on Practice Squad IR and not so much as taking a PS spot and Jordan Poyer, who is on the Practice Squad and played a total of 18 snaps for us so far are "reasons the team is failing"... I hate to break it to you guys - but he's already on the team. Which is why he's being brought up. I also hate to break it to you and I don't know if you've noticed, but we a.) Have an injured WR in Jordan Palmer that may be on the shelf for some time and b.) Don't have anyone beyond Kincaid and Shakir that can get open with any sort of even small consistency. I'm not saying Gabe Davis is the answer by himself. I'm not saying don't look elsewhere. I actually said in the same post that I'd be on the phone with the Saints to try to add one of their WR's as well. But if he's healthy, he certainly couldn't provide less than guys like Elijah Moore and Tyrell Shavers are. They are absolutely useless.
