  1. My eventual wife dragged me to Lilydale in the Southern Tier many years ago. Her mom went with us. Her mom...I have immense respect for, but she also has one of the most violent tempers I've seen. It can be like watching a steam boiler explode. Anyway, we are at the magical stump, or log, the place they do public readings. They basically just pick people out and "read' them. After a while, the medium looked at her mom for a few seconds. The lady's eyes got wide and she said, "My god, I see your hair standing on end! The spirit talking to me is telling you to chill out!" I nearly let out a "holy crap!" Her mom had just been sitting there and hadn't said a word the whole time. Many years later, my wife went to one after her brother had passed. She only gave her first name and paid in cash, and there was no appointment or anything like that to give away any info. She recorded the session and had me listen to it. The guy was good, whether a con man or genuine. What got me is when he said, there are 2 spirits here, Im seeing a big A and a little a. Father and brother were both named Art. There are lots of names in the world, of many different letters...so if it was a guess, it was a damn good one. He had it right that her brother died suddenly (heart attack) which is good, but can be predictable. He also conveyed that her brother said he can "move around lots better"...which, considering he had MS, is another good guess. She asked me what I thought after listening. I could only say, "idk, the guy is good. But the important thing is what you believe...quit worrying about how genuine it may be and consider it a nice afternoon with your brother and your dad. They both said they were pain free now and are happy. That should give you some comfort."
  2. I don't mind drafting an OL in the late first...but I'd just as soon see them pay Williams. The team spent years with guys like Jordan Mills at the position. They finally got quality and it paid dividends. No need to take the chance on a rookie when you have good production already there.
  3. I remember the guy from high school. My son played against him, (but probably never lined up against him.) He was like the Michael Oher of the city...without Sandra Bullock calling in plays from the stands.
  4. What can be nice about streaming services is finding old shows you never had time to watch in their first run. Skimming through Netflix 2 weeks ago, I saw they had Twin Peaks listed. I was busy starting a career and dating my eventual wife when it first aired, so I never really watched it. I knew what it was of course, and like anyone who was around in 1989-90 knew the phrase, "Who killed Laura Palmer?". I had an hour to kill one night and watched the pilot episode. I was hooked. For the younger generation who aren't familiar with it...there probably hasn't been anything on TV like it before or since. In one murder investigation, they crammed about 2 dozen subplots, an entire cast of eclectic characters, weird dream sequences, giants, log ladies and beautiful off the wall humor. The amazing thing is they did it in a season and a half. David Lynch's masterpiece.
  5. You guys do know its on Youtube? It comes up in my "videos we think you'd like."
  6. Had roots in ours about 5 years ago, right at the end of the line (they really might have been in the main), so I put in root killer in the spring and summer. They haven't returned. Root killer only works if there is running water in the line, in order for it to get to a problem. So far, it has been worth the $40-$60 per year investment. Our line is about 130 feet to the main, so I don't feel like dealing with a blockage, if at all possible.
  7. Godfather II As far as the bad ones, Blues Brothers 2000 was horrendous comedy wise, but music wise, it could have been better than the original.
  8. I got lucky a little over a year ago. I was in a convenience store and had a Bills hoodie on. A guy approached me who was a delivery guy for a local pizzeria. He said his bosses were from Buffalo. I had to check it out and sure enough, they make it the way its supposed to be made. Two brothers, their grandparents had a pizzeria near the Pierce Arrow factory at one time. They are comparable to Boccie Club. It'll be pepperoni and mushroom with Labatts for the Ravens game. (Yeah, I found a liquor store that carries Blue, despite being 1000 miles away from Buffalo.
  9. It might be cheaper to drive to Buffalo and pick them up. My son got me a 3 lb. pack of Sahlens for Father's Day a few years ago. Since it came to my house in my name, (didn't know what it was), I happened to see the invoice. Over $80 for shipping!! That was for the 3lb package. I love Sahlens, but that's a little steep.. a lot steep. If you do go back, if you drive, take an Omaha Steaks type cooler. Freeze the dogs before you leave, add frozen ice packs (doesn't need to be dry ice), make sure the cooler is closed and leave it closed. We've driven back over 2 days, (to Kansas), in the middle of the summer and left them in the trunk. WHen we got home, everything was still frozen. If you find a place that ships cheaper, post it here...but shipping costs have always been a killer. Eh, I still have about 10 lbs in my freezer, Im set for a while.
  10. ATT has had a data cap for a while. When I dumped Uverse, I kept its very basic package for $20 per month, because you get unlimited data. I don't know if it was necessary, because idk if we approach 1 TB per month, or whatever their limit is. Eh, I figured that since we were streaming TV, data usage would go up. The $20 isn't going to kill me
  11. How another of the affidavits was viewed by a court. This one was in Michigan. Jacob alleged that election workers were coaching voters to only choose Democratic candidate Joe Biden or simply vote a straight Democrat ticket, even going as far as standing next to them at a voting station. Jacob claimed she was specifically instructed not to ask for photo identification from voters. Kenny acknowledged the seriousness of the accusations but was not convinced. “Ms. Jacob’s information is generalized. It asserts behavior with no date, location or frequency or names of employees,” he wrote. “In addition, [she] offers no indication of whether she took steps to address the alleged misconduct or to [alert] any supervisor about the alleged voter fraud. Ms. Jacob only came forward after the unofficial results of the voting indicated former Vice President Biden was the winner in the state of Michigan.” https://www.courthousenews.com/michigan-judge-rejects-challenge-to-detroit-election-results/ Under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 9(b), fraud or mistake must be alleged with specificity. (b) Fraud or Mistake; Conditions of Mind. In alleging fraud or mistake, a party must state with particularity the circumstances constituting fraud or mistake. Malice, intent, knowledge, and other conditions of a person's mind may be alleged generally. https://www.law.cornell.edu/rules/frcp/rule_9# That means, the who, where, how and when must be specified in the initial pleadings. The judge was right in the Michigan case. The supporting affidavit needed quite a bit more. As far as others observing the results, there were far more than just the media. The Offices of Secretary of State of 50 different states; innumerable local Boards of Electors; The DHS Office of Cybersecurity, the head a which, a Trump appointee, was recently fired, due to his conclusions on the issue; two separate international groups, the Organization of American States and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe sent observation teams; judges in over 2 dozen lawsuits. And god knows how many others I didn't mention. This indeed would have had to have been a massive conspiracy, one that would make any 9/11 conspiracy pale in comparison. The number of people involved would have been monumental, involving dozens, if not hundreds of people from the organizations I mentioned above, plus thousands of others. Someone besides the Trump Strike Force would have leaked information by now. When this is contrasted with the Trump team, which can't get beyond "we have evidence but we're not going to show it to you.." the decision isn't hard.
  12. The Weber Kettle grill. It doesn't matter if its the classic, Silver or Gold model. Versatile and durable. Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax. It still beads and shines from a quick application in May. The Works toilet bowl cleaner, for anything porcelain. Great for keeping hard water stains away. Well worth the $2 per bottle. Never need to use a brush. ICE COLD analgesic gel for my lower back. A really cheap knock off that works for me. Icy Hot and others are too hot, ending up causing my muscles to tighten and defeat the purpose of using it. Others don't work at all for me. There's one store in town I find it in and buy a few jars at a time. And I don't know if you can call it a "product"..but the foam coolers that Omaha Steaks come in. Travel back to NY, freeze a few packages of Sahlens, freeze them. Pack with ice in one of those coolers. Let sit in the trunk of the car in the middle of summer. When you get home two days later, the hot dogs will still be frozen and the ice will still be there.
  13. When my boys were little, I used to do the Pumpkin Masters thingy..usually something they were into at the time. Godzilla, the Batman signal, the Charging Buffalo, etc. BTW if you cut little bats in the back of the pumpkin and position it right, it will throw a nice light against the house. The best site for carving is.. http://www.extremepumpkins.com Go through the contest winners for a few years..there are some really good ones. I did do the Electrocution Guy one a while back with a road flare..it came out pretty good but not as good as the one in the pic..
  14. They came for my neighbor's miter saw, and I said nothing; They came for my brother's air compressor and I said nothing; They came for my uncle's deep sockets ... and I said nothing.
  15. I was half expecting Arnold's stunt double to come jumping off an overpass on a motorcyle and start twirling his shotgun.
  16. Now one of them needs to sing a jingle..they can start a line of commercials using ex Bills.
  17. I remember Zimmer when he was a UDFA. He dominated at the DII level and had an incredible regional combine. Here's a decent BR article about him at the time he was signed in 2016. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-analysis-all-22/2016/5/16/11648400/justin-zimmer-2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-buffalo-bills-edition I was hoping at the time he'd be our version of an undrafted Javon Hargrave but he never made it through camp. Maybe he'll find better luck under McD.
  18. pfft, it had nothing to do with the moon being flat...
  19. idk...crime families have been taking a hit for a while now and could use some good publicity. Approach the Maggadinos or one of the five families and call it Bills Mafia Stadium. If they don't like that, it can be officially named La Cosa Nostra Stadium, but every will know what its going to be called. It would be..unique.
  20. Yeah, I remember him. My dad was friends with him and I remember going to pick up a bunch of his wings for some family gathering. I just remember him standing in front of the fryer and telling my dad, "Your boys are going to like these". On the way home, my dad said something like, "these are really the original Buffalo Chicken Wings". They WERE good, just not the typical Franks and butter sauce. More of a sweet taste to them. My dad mentioned something about Mr. Young trying to be known as the "original" Buffalo wings at one time. But then, I imagine its like what is better, "No. 1 dad" or "World's Greatest Dad."
  21. Shrugs. SF had what many considered the best D in the league last year and certainly one of the best pass rushes. They had the Chiefs held to 10 points in the SB until the last 7 minutes. Then they gave up a 40 yard pass on a 3 and 15 and it was over. 21 points in 7 minutes. It happens, even to great D's. There are 2 ways to look at it. Was it that SF's D needed more work? Or was it that..in the modern NFL, you can only hold a team down for so long, especially in the playoffs? As far as the O goes, yeah, its no secret they have to get better. They got about as far as an O that scored 314 points can get. They have to get better.
  22. Yeah, pot roast and slow cookers naturally go together. A good way to do it is to brown the roast on all sides before putting it in. It looks better and tastes better. Deglaze the pan with red wine afterward and throw that ***** over the roast. Whole mushrooms are a must for me to add to the pot. When we've had venison in the house, a venison roast or stew cooks the best in a crock pot too.
  23. Yeah, it came up many years ago, when Tony Gonzalez was tagged. The Chiefs used the TE tag on him and he fought it, mostly because he was near the league lead in receptions and/or yardage for WR's AND TE's. I think he still talks about it. Later, Jimmy Graham fought the designation in New Orleans. Graham had filed a grievance arguing that he deserved to be designated as a wide receiver under the franchise tag because he spent more time out wide and in the slot than at the line of the scrimmage, as tight ends did in the past. Burbank concluded that Graham was aligned close enough to the line of scrimmage (four yards) for a majority of plays to be disqualified from the wide-receiver designation. Essentially, the slot doesn't count as out wide for franchise-tag purposes. https://www.nfl.com/news/jimmy-graham-deemed-tight-end-in-system-arbitration-0ap2000000363018
