True. And agreed. I wish this place had tighter moderation (no offense mods) and we could have intelligent dicussions. Then, the media types like Tim, jw, the WGR guys etc. could have a place to interact with fans. Look, I'm not saying its the perfect board, but Sons of Sam Horn gets it right. To post on the main board, you need to be a long-time poster and observe certain standards. The baseball discussion is fantastic...with little insights that you may not know or learn. Many media-types post under their own name and some post anonymously. There is also a second board, where new members can post. The discussions are less insightful, and more like this place, but particularly good new members are invited to post on the main board. I only wish this board was like that. EDIT: Tim, thanks for posting here. I will miss your insights in the thread, but will still read the blog.

Yeah, that is the way it is at the Ralph. Right by the gate entrances. Doesn't hurt anyone else and there is no smoking in the stands at all. Can't see how anyone can complain about this. Also, they have large ashtrays where the butts are disposed of. Jack...any word on whether this is a reality?

A little help from my Bills Brethren (and Sisteren)...

Been to see the Bills play B'more twice. Ironically, this year is just like last time...on my b-day. Tix are easy to get. I drove from NYC to the stadium with no tix. Within 15 minutes I had 3 scalpers surrounding me, undercutting each other, for 4 seats on the 35 yard line, 15 rows from the field. $250 later....I was pleased. -

Calling BS on the bolded statement. Prove it with links. -
But Lydman should not be handling the puck as much as he is asked to handle it. They need a puck moving D-man who can QB the pp. Kaberle would be great, but is a pipe dream.

Look, I've been on interviews where you are confronted with uncomfotable siutuations just to judge your reaction and how you process the information. That is a classic Wall Street investment banking interview technique. What Ireland did was waaay over the line. If he worked for a regular company, he would be sued and likely fired or at least reprimanded. That question is completely unacceptable. It is not a behavior question or even a fair response question. Anyone defending it...why don't you ask it the next time you are interviewing someone and see how far it gets you...hell, your company is making an investment in the person, gotta know that person's background right? Tell me how many hours it takes for you to get fired, I set the O/U at 4.

Funny, no corporations I know ever asked their incoming CEO, to whom they pay millions, if the CEO's mom was a prostitute. The question is borderline illegal and by no means is it necessary.

EZC - Don't know who wrote that, but I disagree with a lot of it. In fact, the rant may have a few valid points, but is so poorly written that the points are lost.

I'd go to war with Wood and Levitre anytime. Green looks to be a good blocker if he can keep his head in the game and cut down on the penalties. I really don't know how Hangartner grades out and I am willing to give him a chance seeing as how he played next to rookies last year. Our big question is LT...is Bell up for the job? Can (or do we want to) swing a trade for Gaither? Our OL is not that far away. If Hangartner does not work out, look for Wood at C next year and we draft the best available G.

If that is the case, I love it. Smash-mouth, run-first, good special teams has always been my preferred style to watch.

I'd love to see Guerin (or Recchi) brought in to show some of these guys how to be pros. I also think Matt Cullen would be a real nice fit given his PP experience. Agree with respect to Lombardi...he would be a great addition. Is this list right and Frolov is a UFA? Interesting....

I think this was discussed earlier...he's not Hasek or Roy or in-his-prime Brodeur, who would stone you in elimination games. But, I don't see any goalie in the NHL who is better than Miller right now. Got to get a PP QB on D (0 for the series is embarassing), bigger at forward, get a legit #1 C and a veteran who has won the Cup. They are not far away...Vanek/Myers/Miller are the three best players the Sabres have had at one point in quite some time. Its going to be fun watching them develop over the next couple of years. But gotta keep adding pieces.

The last two draft classes are all big, strong guys. No more little smurf-like fairies. Avg size of 09 class...6' 2.5" and 208.5 lbs. Prototypical power forwards. The 08 class, with the exception of Ennis, is similarly sized. I'm not saying they will all be stars, but big guys usually beat little guys in a physical game.

I really hope not. Ruff is one of the best things to ever happen to this franchise. Is he perfect...no. But Ruff would be snapped up in a minute if we fired him. And our coaching would be much, much worse. The man can't make chicken soup out of chicken ****. Fix the roster and LIndy would look a lot better. In fact, I daresay, if we had an xtra D-man in 2006 or the NHL called the rule as it was written and called all year in 99 we'd already have two Cups with him as coach. FIring LIndy is something the Bills would do, not the Sabres.
-
They get it...look at the last two draft classes with the exception of Ennis. But got to get what you can for Roy/Connolly.
-
Satan is not knocked off the puck? WTF? I could knock him off the puck. And Miller simply must stone that shot. Stick the fork in them....

Little bit of desperation here...thought Vanek would tie it up.
