  1. The Pats started CBs who did not even start on their college teams last year!!! The Bills need to take advantage of those mismatches. Moulds and Evans could have a field day, and with NE dropping the safeties back into coverage to help McGahee could really run free. I am very worried about the Bills' defense against the spread offense. NE runs it very well with average receivers but the Bills are very thin at CB as well.
  2. Thank you all for your service!!!!
  3. Arafat is a terrorist who ordered the killings of thousands of innocent people. Why would I even care about him??????? And why is this on the football board?
  4. We'll see how thrilled Pats' fans are with McGahee's numbers after the game. I'm fine with him gaining big yards and then when they have 9 in the box him earning only 2 yards to bring his ypc down. Go Go Buffalo!!!!!
  5. This morning on WEEI the local sports station here in Boston they seem to think this game will be a blowout. Even said it may be over at half so they could go to bed early for the morning show! I don't see this as the same Bills team that got whacked last year in the season finale. Granted this was not a comment by anyone in the Pats organization just the local Boston press. Run McGahee 40 times this game. Run Willis Run!!!!
  6. The 50 seat jets are nice. They are NOT puddle jumpers. They fly above the turbulence for the most part and it is a smooth ride. I love them--quick on and off. They are jets not propeller and get you there quicker. Great for shorter routes like Boston-Buffalo
  7. Where are all the McKinnie is an All-Pro posts? Just goes to show you that when you watch other teams you can put some things in perspective. MW is as good as McKinnie and they both are good tackles. MW is unlucky in that he has to protect the least mobile QB in the NFL. People love to criticize MW, but he has had a very good year overall. Go watch other tackles in the league and they are far from infallible. Ogden got toasted by Schobel and his QB fumbled on the sack. If that happened to MW many people on this board would elect to trade or cut him on the spot. I think some people have very unrealistic expectations from draft picks even if they are in the top 10! Look at the Jets and Giants big top 10 DL draft picks sucking over the past two years. They are still young and may very well be excellent players, but in general it takes a lot of time. Look at Drew Brees in his fourth year--pretty darn good QB. Big Ben of Pittsburgh is the huge exception to the rule and let's see how he does the rest of the season.
  8. I am a big fan of the Amherst/Williamsville/Clarence area and it would be right next to the University for your wife. Lots to do, safe, great homes, schools etc
  9. Thank you for the great, great radio. It is missed especially by us out of towners who stayed connected to the hometown by your broadcasts. It will be missed more than you know.
  10. I would love to move back to Buffalo but the jobs there just prevent me from doing so! If I got even 80% my salary now for equal work I'd move back to Buffalo in a second, but the economic environment there is bad. The property taxes in Buffalo are about three times that in Massachusetts as well. So although the homes here are three times as expensive you actually end up paying about the same because the property taxes are so low compared to Buffalo and its suburbs. 500K house in suburb of Boston (a decent suburb twenty minutes out) and property taxes on it were less than $4000/year. Needless to say, RK is right about people moving out. But I think people have the misconception that it is because of weather, nothing to do etc.... The weather is the same in New England, the mid-west and northwest. The quality of life is great in Buffalo great sports, schools, restaurants, and best of all great people. I think most of us out of towners would move back if we could get similar jobs.
  11. I'll be there
  12. Man is it depressing listening to what Empire has on nowadays. I was just listening to its stream and was bored stiff. Is the programming that awful now? I live in Massachusetts and don't get Empire. I am no longer going to pursue a satellite because one of the only reasons was to obtain Empire thru the sports package.
  13. Healthy Milloy all year and we are likely 5-2! Where are all the posters who said he was over the hill last year? We see how valuable he is to this team when he is not there. He quietly does things that your safety is supposed to do and belongs where he is supposed to be.
  14. Probably the only time we will ever advance some reform of Social Security will be a second term president because he/she will not have to worry about re-election. It is certainly due for some changes. It is a massively popular program so they will have to tread slowly. But, when it was passed 60+ years ago the life expectancy was about 65--the same age as when the benefits kicked in. Can you imagine if the benefit age was increased to 75 nowadays? Not a chance of happening.
  15. I almost switch to satellite solely because I missed Empire when we moved out of state. Well I guess I'll just keep my cable.
  16. It is simply amazing how far that station has fallen. When I lived in Buffalo a few years back I would watch it for about 2-3 hours a day during football season to get all the Bills news and it was so popular. I guess once the Rigases stole all of Adelphia's money the whole Adelphia empire was going to fold. Thanks John and Tim!!!! That is really unfortunate as it is the only regional sports station for upstate NY.
  17. That really sucks! I guess there is no reason for me to get satellite TV now to get the sports package.
  18. Thanks Howard for the kind words. I am like many of the members of the board who live out of town and loved hearing you over the internet. I certainly understand you moving to WGR and hope to listen to you when I do come in town. Hopefully they will start streaming over at WGR sometime soon. Loved your show! I feel bad about Empire and WNSA but I guess things change.
  19. I just entered ECC! Isn't that where those girls told him they went to school? Hey--Travis is a good guy and gave a lot to this team for three years including playing injured for half the season.
  20. Ice, relax and enjoy the win. The Bills won--be happy. I'm sure the Seahawks would disagree with your assessment that the Cardinals suck. The Bills have to follow it up with another win, and if they don't this win means nothing. But relax and enjoy it. And remember that one of the "worst" teams in the NFL had both the Jets and Pats on the ropes. Teams that suck are blown out by that point. The Bills have talent and could easily be 5-2 at this time.
  21. One goal line block does not make a good O lineman. As I've continued to say, our OL is not that bad at all. We have RBs that have rushed well and a QB that has always been prone to the sack. In New England they thought their O-lines were terrible until they replaced one player and all of a sudden the awful O-line was a bunch of Super Bowl champs the same season.
  22. Is Moulds licking his chops????
  23. I really like TH as a team player and a person. I think he really liked the Bills and the organization, but WM is just a better back. He has many intangibles as well as the athletic ability. If he stays healthy he could be one of the top three backs in the AFC (Lewis and C Martin) next season. I agree and like his fire!!!
  24. Great post. The McGahee pick looks better each week. What your list shows as well is how a big a gamble every pick is in the draft. No player on that list is a player would absolutely need to have. Good picks by TD on McGahee and Kelsay.
