Well the Sox won the World Series this year so I guess anything is possible.

Simon, great great post. Well thought out but as Alaska stated facts and reason have no place on this board.

It's official..Bldsoe trade worst in Bills history
Ray replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Rob Jonson deal was much worse. Bledsoe's first season here he went to the Pro Bowl. At the time it was a great deal! He has stunk up the place the last season and a half but hindsight is always 20/20! His signing did renew interest in the team and get people excited which was also a great thing for the franchise. -
Sadly, Bledsoe does give us our best chance to win. JP is going to come in and really suck. That is going to be his natural progression here. I like him though because he will go back and keep working hard and getting better. But right now DB is awful but less awful than the rest of our QBs.

Things were better when we had a 1A and 1B QB with Wade. Three seasons with Wade and never a losing season! Not bad! Funny how most people were lobbying for his firing--bet they wish differently now!

A 48 yard field goal miss is a bit different than an 18 yard miss!

Entercomm sucks!! There are no rights issues with stations not playing music!! A tiny Buffalo sports radio station streaming surely will be competing heavily against big sports radio markets in Boston, NY, LA etc.... Entercomm sucks. Thanks again John Rigas for smuggling money out of your company so Adelphia and Empire went belly up!!!!

They were on the field so much b/c they could not stop them!!!! 5 drives of 50 yards or longer!! Great defenses get off the field. Buffalo's is not! It is good most of the year but terrible against the Pats. Not a shutdown D by any means.
-
Don't baby him guys! He needs game experience. Who do you want him to play against? The third stringers of every preseason game? Well this is what happens when you go to the NFL. You play good teams. And we/he will have to face NE 2X/year for the next 6-7 years. Get used to it kid. So go prepare, work hard and work harder. You are going to need it. Great decision by Mularkey to play him. Mularkey made a bad decision by not going for it at the 34 on the Bills first drive. Can't play wussy on the road. Pats start at the 20 instead of the 34--not that big a deal.

USMC is completely right. Our defense laid down last night and laid down bad!! They were terrible. Brady just has our defenses' number and the only way we will ever beat the Pats is to outscore them. And the likelihood of that is laughable! Our defense cannot stop Brady. We can't stop Dillon or there bunch of receivers. No Pro Bowlers just a bunch of middle round picks. Their best receiver is a 7th round pick. We play 10 yards off the receivers in an offense that consists of WR screens and 5-10 yard outs. That is it!

They deserve it!!! 23 wins out of the last 24! We would be happy with 13 out of the last 24!

This is the NFL. He gets paid millions of dollars to play QB. Don't baby the guy. Get in there and see how he does. He was putrid and looked horrible. Luckily it was his first game and made him realize this isn't preseason against third stringers. He has got to learn sometime. Now he has a good dose of reality and how he has to learn a lot and prepare. And we also realize he is another season and a half most likely from becoming the starter.

WGR55 does not stream over the internet. Us out of towners are shut out from B'lo radio.

In NE they said game may be over at halftime
Ray replied to Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They were wrong--it was over after the first quarter the way they went thru our defense and the way Drew was throwing. They were off by a quarter! -
Neither of the CBs starting for NE tonight would be a starting corner on any team in the NFL. One did not start for his college team last year! We really took advantage of that!!

The OL gave Drew the best protection of the year.
Ray replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drew was just awful. It was no way the OL's fault. He has to make plays. Plain and simple--throw the ball to the open receiver! -
This team is so far away it's not funny
Ray replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bledsoe stunk! Defense was awful. Special teams was good. And the team as a whole got crushed! I'm glad I was waiting forward to this game all week. -
He looked beyond pathetic tonight.

J.P.Losman's QB Rating of 16.7 was better

Our QB prospects for the next season and a half or two just SUCK! -
Like I said-we are gonna kick the Patriots ass!
Ray replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey, even the Boston Herald only has the Pats winning by three! I think they are starting to see a good matchup! -
Like I said before my guess is someone from outside the area comes in and buys the team but keeps them in Buffalo. Yes Jacobs, Golisano and Rich could all pony up the 700 million together but I think that is very unlikely because they don't have that much in expendable" assets that can be liquidated. Some multi-billionaire from outside the area may buy the team, but keep it in B'lo. Why move another team to LA? They NEVER support the damn team. How many failed franchises have they had? Two? Three? Also, in regards to estate tax laws. If Ralph gives everything to his wife my understanding is that the assets are not subject to the 55% estate tax. But if they go to his estate they are subject to that ridiculous tax minus the first 1.5 million that is exempt. So the family much like the Robbie family of Miami would have to sell the franchise to pay the IRS. However, no matter what your political views, with a Republican controlled Congress they may be repealing the estate tax altogher and it would be a moot point. Keep going Ralph. He looks in great shape for an octogenarian!

Cold but clear. We got 6 inches of snow Fri night Sat morning here in downtown Boston but it has been sunny, cold and windy since. Not too windy in Foxboro tonight though. Perfect fall conditions for a game. Cold but not windy.

Official Prediction for Tonight's game...
Ray replied to mtdoak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills 20 Pats 14 -
Keep in mind that Bledsoe was sacked once, maybe twice up until the last three minutes of the game after the horrendous fumble for a Pats TD. They protected him well up to that point and they were down two TDs passing every down from there on out. So that 7 sacks is VERY deceiving. If McGahee is in the game I guarantee you he doesn't trip and third and inches or miss the assignment on fourth and inches on the Bills drive to tie the game with three minutes left. Sould be a good game today!!!

The Bills would/will stay in Buffalo because of its history and fan support etc... That being said there are maybe two people who could afford the Bills--Golisano if he sells the Sabres and J Jacobs if he sells the Bruins. Jacobs is a very good guy but in Boston they cannot stand his frugality. Danny Wegman does not have 600 million dollars to buy a franchise! Nobody in WNY does now. Golisano will not sell Paychex to buy the Bills it just won't happen! He spent about 60-70 million for the Sabres after a lengthy negotiation. Now multiply that by 10!! He is not giving up his business to buy a football team. Maybe he sells the Sabres, takes the 70 million in cash as a down payment and finances the rest--not a great option. The Bills would likely be bought by someone outside the area who wants a football team or J Jacobs. He could sell the Bruins (if the NHL ever plays again) for a hefty sum and come up with backing for the other 400-500 million. My bet is on someone outside the area buying the team and keeping them in Buffalo!
