19,000 Titans vs Bills Tickets left
Ray replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it will look VERY bad for there to be 40,000 people only at the game on Sunday. Especially at a time when Ralph has been complaining to the league. This fan base has to step up and buy tix and go to games. This has been the best Bills team of the past 6 years and most people are missing it. It's sad. I do thing most of this stems from the hangover of the past 5 yrs. People do not want to invest there emotions again and get let down. I could excuse only 60k being there for the game b/c of X-mas eve but I'm really afraid the number will be closer to 40k. That is a poor showing for an area that prides itself on its fans and dedication to the team. I'll be there---I just hope people who are back on break, vacation etc... get together with old friends buy some very cheap tix and go to the game. -

I agree and think most of it is the Christmas Eve thing. Would have had a better draw on Saturday. I'm afraid they'll get only like 40 thousand there. That would reflect AWFUL on the city, Ralph and not help in any negotiations Ralph will have with the league on revenue sharing. They can point to the fact the only games NOT sold out this year are the Bills' games. They don't care that the Bills had the 4th highest crowd out of 16 NFL games last week. They'll point to the lack of sell-outs. Go to the game fans! Buy it as a X-mas present for someone. Lots of good tix available. -
Screw Free Agency...Lets extend our core players

I think you'll be able to bring back London for about 3-4M/yr. I don't see many teams looking for an aging ML. The Bills can likely sign him w/o breaking the bank. You probably get 1-2 more good yrs from him anyway. I agree with locking up Lee Evans and then getting Losman early next year to a long term deal. They have a very good cap situation this year/next year and it's only going to go up. -
Will the Bills pay him a 20M signing bonus? That'll be the going rate for a CB. That is a lot of money but I guess amortized over 5-6 yrs it is not so bad. They may not be able to pay that kind of money but may be able to pay him guaranteed money in that range.

Yet the Southern Ontario market is about 5-7million people depending on how you define it. That is a lot more than Cleveland to draw from---I just think the Bills have a large untapped market there. Send players up there (the whole 30-60 minute drive). Do commercials etc... lots of Canadians love NFL football. -

You're right! It is hard to paint the area as huge fans when the last four games do not sell out. They will either have to add game packs, varying pricing strategies as cheaper tix for the games like Tennessee and higher prices for premier games like the Giants and Cowboys next year. They may have to take away some of the upper tier seating as it is hard to sell 5 thousand upper level seats when the view is terrible and the weather is not ideal. Why not make a bigger "shield" around the stadium to insulate the fans from the wind etc..... not a dome but somewhat like the Cowboys. That way the fans at least are covered. But in the Bills' defense there were 16 NFL games last week and the attendence at the Bills game was 4th. Only 3 games had better attendance but they "sold out." -

Cleveland is sold out. Same size stadium. Not exactly boom town USA. Granted it will be interesting to see how many they get in the stadium. But I am disappointed in the B'lo fans. Missing some great games and a team that is putting it together. I do think things would be a bit diffrent had they not started out 2-5---even if they were 3-4 things would not have seemed so grim. Creative ticket pricing, game packs etc... would certainly help for next year. But most importantly will be the belief that this team can be very good. Go support the team people--I'll be there.....hope I'm not the only one. -
be4 people break out the tar and feathers

I was critical of him in certain games, but this is not one of them. This is the kind of game I expected of him this year and quite honestly I feel optimistic after seeing him again. He is coming back after mistakes and making plays. For the third week in a row he has led a comeback/TD drive in the 4th quarter. It feels good to have a guy like that! -
Last Week Was The Loudest Crowd In Years

Loudest I've heard since the opening day in '03 when the Bills played the Pats and crushed them. -
Hargrove - What are you guys not telling me?
Ray replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the way this guy plays! He was all over the field today. He plays with a lot of emotion and played great today. As he gets used to his new team/scheme/surroundings you can see him improve. He had some very key stops today. -
Royal played very well today too! Thank him for the first TD by causing a fumble and recovering it. He also caught everything thrown to him today. Good TE play today which was very nice to see.
-
It is great to see him playing so well. If you weren't at the game today you obviously missed a treat. We still have a handful of games left, but the fact he has led the team to 3 4th quarter wins in the past 4 games says something. I was certainly critical of him for awhile and was really wondering if he "got it"---well he sure has the past two weeks. I've always rooted for the guy to succeed b/c you have to love his work ethic, dedication and moving to Buffalo in the offseason. No cushy California lifestyle in the offseason--he's back here in late Feb/early March. He looks very comfortable in the pocket and he moves so well in the pocket. The guy can throw on the run---and does it as well as anybody in the league right now. I wished they got him doing that sooner in the year--but maybe by not doing that he has adjusted to being a better pocket passer as well. The biggest thing for this team is the confidence and belief they can go out and win every Sunday. Also, they have many needs to fill that it would be soooo nice to have QB a set position. The much-maligned OL did very well in pass protection again. Give these guys credit. Peters is playing very well and dominating. Maybe he is the LT we need. Another OL, and a run-stffer and this team could be very, very, good.

Great, great, game he played today. I think the most important thing he did was come back from that really bad Int. He was able to put that aside, and make plays when it counted. Let's not anoint him starter for the next 10 yrs yet but he showed us all something today. I have been quite critical of him at times but I thought he played great today. I hope this helps him with his confidence, the coaches confidence in him and his teammates! That last pass was great---nobody could have made a better play. It's what we've all been looking for, a quick decision and a strike! Nice to win one like that--thank JP!

Where are all the posters that said....
Ray replied to DeLuca1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The big thing is that they didn't break the bank to sign any of these guys. How about the 49ers signing Jonas Jennings to his big contract? How'd that work out for them? How about Damian Woody for the Lions--oh they paid him a lot to sit the bench. And how about Hutchinson? Saddling your team with years of high bonuses hurts a heck of a lot more than having the guys we signed. They've done as much for the team--even more than those guys. Tell me what free agent out there you absolutely needed to have this offseason? T Owens? I'll take A Train and J Reed coming back, Tripplett and Royal over those guys. -
finally someone with a clue not mindlessly ...
Ray replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Davis should have had two TDs if the ball was thrown well. He has had 5+ yards separation on the DBs a couple times. That's his strength. He is not a possession guy. Reed has made some very good catches in traffic and Evans has been open. Peerless is average now but still with good speed. -
You know it's bad when it's week 9 and we are talking about the draft!
-
Maybe a change at QB will make them all of a sudden look better (Flutie for Johnson). When you have a QB that needs all other 10 players to win their battles for him to succeed you are introuble. I agree the OL is inadequate, but the majority of NFL teams have inadequate lines. I'd keep Peters and that's about it quite honestly and you can fill in the gaps elsewhere. Gandy could probably be a decent guard. In today's NFL if you get 2 really good OL you've got to be happy and fill in the rest with mediocrity.

Man, I Wish Our Team Would Draft LINEMAN!
Ray replied to Alaska Darin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
JP, RJ, et al stunk because they do stink. How many other tema sdid RJ go to and flourish? Let's see Tampa, Redskins and the Giants and he stunk with all of them. How about Bledsoe. I thought it was just the line. The same way it was just the line in New England and Dallas. Gee those same lines seemed to miraculously improve in one week the the replacement of one player--the QB! -
Hey, the Bills played hard and played the best team in te NFL very well. If we had a halfway decent QB we win that game. You've got to be happy about the way the defense has improved the last couple of weeks. Very disappointing that we could actually have been just a couple back of the Pats had we won today.
-
Let's see how Nall does. You cannot get worse. If the only thing we ask of our QB is to not fumble, complete a handful of passes then let's do it! He was gift wrapped great field position multiple times and as usual takes a sack.

Why do people still support Jp?
Ray replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He played fine today? I suppose he played fine against Green Bay and the prior weeks. There comes a time where you want your QB to make plays. Our offense today was Terrence McGee. The bar is set so unbelievably low for JP. Don't fumble and complete 8 passes a game. It's always the OL's fault, the WRs aren't getting open and our TEs stink. The offense is to blame, but he as the QB has to take the most. Obviously the play calling has a lot to do with him unable to do anything. We know he will drop back, panic and get sacked so we'll run a draw. Having a QB not fumble as the standard for our QB is pathetic. -
Losman avoids sacks no better than Bledsoe
Ray replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A 100 yard rusher for the terrible OL---oh I forgot that McGahee's problem were all the OLs fault as well. People have blinders on when watching JP play. There may be only 1-2 teams that would take him as their QB. He stinks! Maybe in 2-3 years he'll get how to play at this level as he did come in at a disadvantage. He has a great work ethic, but he is not a good QB this year. -
Any1 who thinks JP was the reason we lost
Ray replied to milfster1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The excuses for JP are becoming very old. Yes the OL does not provide him with optimum time but he has to feel the rush and step up and make some plays himself. It is so sad we have a QB nobody feels can do anything. They are much more comfortable running a draw play on 3rd and 10 b/c he is so bad in 3rd and long. He is RJ the 2nd. -
Don't you have to place most of the blame on te QB for passing only 83 yards. No pocket presence at all. Taking bad sacks etc..---does Kelly Holcomb win that game for you?
-
"Who Blew It!" Who is to blame for our loss to
Ray replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have to be satisfied with moral victories. The QB passes for 83 yards. We win the TO battle again by 2 and manage to lose the game b/c the offense was putrid. QB play awful, OL bad pass blocking. You will never win consistently when you're afraid to let your QB throw.
