  1. Getting rid of Pat Williams and Ted Washington. Hiring GW and MM. JP and McGahee with 1st round picks as well as Mike Williams......I really do not fault Donahoe for that as most people thought he would be a great OT for a decade. Trent, Lynch and Poz could still turn out to be a great draft. Marv was there for two yrs. He was brought in to bring more credibility and respect to the organization. He did that and brought in a group of players that can be a strong core for years to come. Donahoe did bring in some good players.....I just think he really over thought things and tried to be too cute. But you cannot fault him for bringing in Spikes, Milloy or Bledsoe. I think almost everyone agreed with those at the time.
  2. JP is a great guy but an awful QB. He ruined himself NOT the coaches. He will compete for a number 2 or 3 position next year certainly NOT a number one. He simply does not make decision fast enough, is not accurate and turns the ball over constantly. Saying he would be an upgrade ever over Pennington is laughable. JP should be acknowledged for all the great things he tried to do for the city. He is just a terrible QB. Proably the worst starting QB we have had in about 15 years.
  3. Wonderful human being. Has made some dubious calls this year as a HC. I would much rather have him stay and spend the money saved by keeping this coaching staff and go after Haynesworth or other big time FAs. It all comes down to the players much more than coaching. Most NFL coaches do the same thing. The guys like him as a coach, he is an honest guy. I cannot see Ralph biting the bullet, then buying out the three year extnesion on DJ and the rest of the coaches and go out and find another average HC.
  4. Was E Moulds a bust then too? He had a bad first 2-3 years. Give Hardy a chance. He has the physical tools although this is probably the worst time for a WR to have a torn ACL with repair....he will be rehabbing that knee well into the summer. He really would have benefitted from having a full season, come back in March and participate in OTAs etc.....this really puts him behind the curve. Learning defenses and running the routes were his big weakness. Luckily those things can be taught.
  5. He was coach of the year one year. Was it the leagues fault Belicheck was a complete loser until..... wait Tom Brady took over!!! Maybe that had something to do with his coaching genius. He and Jauron have essentially the same record when he does not have Brady as QB.
  6. Bad??? I think that is a bit of an overstatement. Certainly not an elite safety but he was good prior to getting injured. Asked to play corner at times as well. Playing a cover 2 and having him play deep does not really afford him huge ways to make plays a lot of the time. He is a good player, a GREAT team leader which is probably his best attribute. McKelvin is going to be a great player I think. Was it not a few weeks ago people were actually calling him a bust....people are ridiculous. After a half a season people were calling him a bust. The kid shows great cover skills and instincts which he showed again with the int that got called back for a bogus call. The secondary is the least of our concerns. Get another pass rusher, a weak side LB and that upgrades this defense big time.
  7. It all comes down to QB play......that is a lot more important than coaching. Jauron was a good coach when he had a QB playing well and was 5-1 this season. Nobody is a good coach with JP Losman at QB. NO coach in this league wins with that guy. Jauron very likely will be the coach next year. The reason the Dolphins and the Falcons turned it around this year is because of te QB......do you really think the Dolphins win more than 2 games with Beck at QB? Really? Their best offseason move was picking up Pennington as QB. Cam Cameron would be in the running for coach of the year this year if he was still the coach there. Are any of Atlanta's QBs from last year playing this year? How is Harrington doing this year? I thought so!!! It comes down to the players and most importantly QB play. If the QB is very good the team will be good. I suppose Jauron threw three INTs vs te Browns and missed a makeable FG. Jauron is not the best coach around and I certinaly know that but he is basically like 25 of 32 HCs in the league and average. The league is full of mediocrity.
  8. Depends what his agent wants....I would certainly be willing to pay Greer 5 years 12-15M depending on the structuring. If some GM is ridiculous and pays him 5-6M/yr then let them have him for that amount. I really like Greer and think he is a very good corner. Have him play the slot and McKelvin and Mcgee as the two starters and you've got yoursoelf a very good secondary. With Brady back, Manning coming to town and the amount of 3-4 WR formations in this league you need a very strong stable of CBs.
  9. My point is simply that having a great QB hides so many deficiencies on your team and affords you so many more options in your game plan. He is a great coach but Dick Jauron wins those SBs with Tom Brady as QB. Bellicheck may be able to take this team and make them a 9-7 team vs a 7-9 team but in the end it is not that much of a difference. He sure turned Sam Aiken into a prolific WR didn't he? If Edwards maintained his level of play he had for the 1st six games then the Bills are probably at least 9-4. The biggest annoyance now is that we go into next season not knowing if Trent is the guy........if he played in the last three games this year and played well then we would have something to be optimistic about. Instead we are in the same position as we have been since 1997, yes 1997!!!!
  10. It's all about the QB play. Jauron=Belicheck without Brady....very similar records as head coaches. A great QB hides so many deficiencies on your team. If Trent played the whole season like the 1st 6 games and the KC game we would not even be having this conversation.
  11. The major problem with that is financing the stadium......Ralph has a lot MORE money to spend by playing at the Ralph. There is no debt service on the team or the stadium. The roughly 20M in profit he makes on the Bills per year would be completely gone on just the interest per year on the financing of a stadium, leaving no money for free agents etc... I think everyone would love to have a new stadium, state of the art but I cannot see where the money would come from. If/when the Bills get sold it will have to come from the state/county, NFL and then some from the new owners. It would be great if they could make it downtown and part of a convention center etc...so that it would have other functions and ways to make income. But again, it is not having that kind of debt that keeps the Bills here. We'll see, but it is not happening during Ralph's time as he would lose huge money on it.
  12. JP may want Hamdan to play....each time JP plays there is even less of a chance anyone wants him next year. He is getting to the point where he will have to compete NOT for a starting job but for a 2nd or 3rd string job. He is that bad the past two games.
  13. I really do not think Hamdan could be worse than JP. JP is terrible. If the coaches are going to play him they need to give him the simplest of game plans. Let him throw to Lynch, throw WR screens and max protect on a few go routes. 5 years and he is still the same QB and maybe worse. He is a likeable guy who we all desperately wanted to succeed the way he embraced the team and town and all....but he is unwatchable.
  14. The players like Jauron....that is evident. If Trent played better we would not even be talking about Jauron. It all comes down to QB play....Trent was great to start the year and thten went in to a horrible tailspin where he was afraid to make throws. It all comes down to the players, at least 90% of it. If Trent likes DJ he should go out and play like he did at the beginning of the year and quit nursing the injury. If they win the last three games then DJ stays....if they lose the last three I can NOT see how you keep the guy. That would be 1-9 in the last ten. Unacceptable if it happens.
  15. NF, Ontario is great. Ontario made a concerted effort to grow and make it a destination. They, unlike NYS realize people will gamble and like to do so....so what did they do? Helped build a great Vegas style casino with large hotels and more going up. There are things to do there as well and a walker/tourist friendly park. The crime is essentially non-existent as well as opposed to NF,NY. NF, NY is a top 10 (I believe number 7 or 8) according to Forbes yet it has been mismanaged for decades. Imagine if a good plan made it safe, made it look less of a dump and had a few things to do there. The ONLY thing in the offseason to do there is go to the casino. It is the only thing employing people in that town.
  16. Buffalo, NF, Rochester, Southern Ontario from Hamilton South to the border over 3 million people. If Buffalo markets to those areas they will be fine. The Toronto metropolitan area is more interested in themselves and just Toronto. Even if Toronto got a team most So Ontario people would not even be able to go to the games. They would be priced out just like the Leafs. So the Bills could easily get those fans. Advertise there, have the players do appearances there etc....I am not sure Toronto businesses would be that interested in buying suites at the Ralph. I see the marketing move there from the Bills' perspective but Toronto is a mjor world market and city.....one of the top cities in the world. So it is a lot different than going to Rochester for training camp. Rochester is already a Bills town b/c they have no sports team there. Keep that market, get Southern Ontario and Buffalo and NF and there is enough there to support a team.
  17. Coughlin and Fox are the only ones on that list that are any good. The rest are equivalent to Jauron....no thanks.
  18. The Bills have been awful but you are correct.....for those living elsewhere you do have more perspective. Living in DC the people now complain about the QB and the skins. Living outside of WNY does give a fan more perspective because you see how bad most NFL teams are..... The media in Buffalo, at least some members are SOOOOO negative like JS. That is just how he has always been. Remember when Bruce wanted to beat him up? In their defense, the Bills have been terrible. Amazing to think if Lindell makes that kick and they don't play the worst game ever last week they would be in 1st place. Talk about a razor thin margin between good and bad.
  19. He'll go to a team that is looking for a good back-up QB.....not a slight on JP, that's just what he is....a good number two QB. I'd love to keep him in Buffalo as a number two QB but he is definitely gone. Not much respect for him around the league and considered an average QB.
  20. I can't believe I am this nervous for the KC game. A win with a Dolphins and a Jets loss puts us right back in the thick of things.
  21. Bad matchup for our pass defense. KC is one of the top 5 passing offenses in the past 4 weeks. This matchup scares me so hopefully the Bills running game gets going and we keep them off the field.
  22. He did adjust......just too late. He did EXACTLY what you do against a defense that drops 8 n coverage. You throw to the backs. Which worked! You run the ball..which worked. Anyone remember a certain Super Bowl where the Giants dropped 8-9 consistently in coverage. Not until too late did the Bills change and do exactly what you should do.....dump off to the backs, run etc... You do NOT force the ball long like people here seem to say you need to do. Trent did not need to throw the ball long because after the first few possessions they moved the ball by running and throwing short. I have NO problem with not looking down field if the Bills take 5-6 yards every play and score 27 points.
  23. I've definitely seen worse....and don't forget we win the game if Lindell makes that kick. So as awful as he was, he did the smart thing and threw to his backs b/c that's what they give you with dropping eight. That is the important thing!! Who cares if he doesn't throw down field. Tom Brady won two SBs by throwing WR screens and 10 yard outs and screens. Who CARES people as long as you win!!!! He was terrible the other night, but Tony Romo was worse the year before. Difference....a kicker makes a kick. Very simple.
  24. If the kicker makes a 47 yd FG we are not even talking about it. They did enough to win, had the chance and Lindell missed it. Time to move on to KC. Marshawn and the running game got going, McKelvin looked good etc..... If they drop 8 in coverage again I don't care if Trent passes 25 times to ML and FJ....as long as they get positive yards and win!!!
