Already did......obviously had poor judgment but overall he did not harm anyone sitting in a car. It was probably a very good wake up call to him. He is a fun-loving good mannered guy by all accounts and hopefully he channels that to better off the field endeavors. Lots of guys have done dumb things and let's hope he learns. I hope he gets involved in the community, does a lot of charity things etc....it does not take much for this community to forgive and really embrace its athletes.

Just how bad is Buffalo nightlife?
Ray replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TO is NOT a huge party animal. He is seen at "events" like ESPY's etc....but overall during the season the guy is about business. So this will be a very good venue for him. He wants to go where he is wanted. -
TBN: Bills / Peters ~$3 M apart - Peters wants over $11.5 M
Ray replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is he really going to quibble over 9-11M a year....guarantee him some of the money or construct it where he gets 35M guaranteed and but backload it 7 yrs 80M but really he won't see the back end three years or so. It all depends how it is structured but he certainly did not play anywhere near his 4M per year last year. If Phila offers you their first two picks this year in the 1st round I would take it. Buffalo having 3 1st round picks could really get some players. -
Western New York is getting it's dues!
Ray replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Upstate and WNY are really one. We could get 4 teams in the tourney...SU, Cornell are in...hopefully UB and a big long shot with Niagara who will at least make the NIT. Good for upstate. If this high speed rail actually is constructed upstate really will be one big area. Syracuse people can get to Buffalo in a couple hours, Rochester in less than an hour. It is a good way to grow the area and market 4M people (Buff-Roch-Cuse). -
Just how bad is Buffalo nightlife?
Ray replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo bar scene and nightlife are fine. Not Vegas, Miami, or LA but few NFL cities are.....Cleveland, Cinci, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Green Bay, etc..... Granted it is not Miami which probably has night life superior to all cities but NYC, but TO lives there so will get enough of it when he wants. The guy grew up in a small city, played college ball in a small town and rates his time in college actually playing basktball as the best time he had. If he meshes well in Buffalo with his team he will be absolutely fine and maybe have a better time here than any other place. The Bills' can go anywhere in this town and get treated like kings and with respect. There is plenty to do, it is just not NYC. People need to get over the inferiority complex. We do have great natural wonders/lakes/Falls etc.... Great wineries, proximity to Canada. There is a reason that players like it here and move back here...Kelly, Thurman, Ruben, Moulds, Tasker etc.... They do probably wish we had a professional baseball or basketball team but because we don't they are the class A celebs around here. If you are Willis and want to just stay in your apt in Orchard Park and hang out there then it will be boring. But if you want to go out to Chippewa, go to the Falls, casinos, wineries, great restaurants etc...you can find plenty to do. How many shots of the Falls and the jet boats are there on VH1 when they film? Over/under 5?? -
Dibs......that is a great post. People are idiots stating that TE can not play in cold. It is really a very dumb argument without any evidence. Anyone at the Giants game 2y ago and the Pats game this yr can tell you nobody could pass well in those games. TE outplayed Manning the SB winning QB that year in that game. He also passed better than Cassel this year in the Pats game. Those were the two worst weather games I have EVER seen at the Ralph. Playing in 10 degree weather with no wind is a lot easier than 45 degrees and 40mph winds. If TE cannot play in cold weather than no other QB can from what I have seen. Who won the game in the 5th coldest game in Bills history? Oh yeah it was Trent when the Bills beat Denver and Cutler this year. Find a new argument people about the stupid cold weather...please.

Providence is a nice little town....kind of like Rochester. It has NOTHING on Buffalo.

Schein was and usually is very positive about the Bills....I like his take a lot. They had Poz on and he echoed what all the other guys were saying......great player, anxious to play with him etc... This brings a lot of excitement not only to us as fans but to the players as well. You can just tell when they speak they are excited to get going.

Ripping was probably too strong a word.....my point being Philly is an okay city it is just not a "Top tier" city like NYC, DC or Boston the main Big cities on the east coast. I can see Miami, LA,NYC making fun of Buffalo but Philly....not so much. It is not like Buffalo is in the middle of nowhere....there are over 10 million people an hours drive of here. Not exactly Siberia.
-
Ironic Philly is ripping Buffalo. Philly is not exactly a thriving metropolis either. Most of Philly is a dump....some good things but it's not exactly NYC, LA or Miami. They've got to let it go. He wanted out of Philly.......hey, TO was great in the Super Bowl....which is encouraging going up against a Belichick team he dominated them.

Will the 6:15 press conference be online or on TV?
Ray replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WGR is pathetic....biggest sports story in years in this town and covering hockey. I know they have the Sabres contract for games but not even talking about it during breaks etc....Very weak. Listen on NFL radio sirius -
He has always kept his mouth shut and played well the 1st year of his contracts.....then in year 2 starts to mouth off a bit. I think for one year 6.5M it is a very good signing!!! Well done. Nice to see the Bills relevant on national stage again.
-
He certainly did NOT need to pay him 7M per year. Good job Russ....this was a win for the Bills. I would have taken the 32yo WR for 4M per year...certainly NOT 7M....way overpaid!!!
-
I really like Greer as a player and person but he was the one that decided to leave....the Bills had offered him right around those numbers. I think these guys' agents see some of the deals and really think all of their clients are going to get 3 years 45M like in Oakland. Was it really worth leaving Buffalo for about 400-500k more a year.....if guys really want to stay they stay and negotiate those types of things in to make up the difference.

Although his track record is so-so....Spikes, Stroud good....Dockery big miss. I don't think he went in to FA and told the GM that Larry Tripplett was the best DT in FA. He had a realistic budget and gave his advice of decent FAs out there at various positons. I think he probably had Haynesworth ranked number one this year as the best DT.....but the Bills were not going to pay 100M. Despite that, his record is certainly better than the Redskins without the resources to spend....looking on the bright side of things. And until the Bills get better they will not sign aging veterans like Taylor etc...as those guys want to go to a contender.

Read Mark Gaughn's blog and everyone will realize this is a non-issue. Please move-on people

Who exactly have the Dolphins brought in that scares you and that is a dominant player? The Jets signed a LB who is a nice player, but paid him 8M per year. Angelo Crowell has better stats per year in terms of tackles and sacks thean Scott. People do need to relax....I realize it is the offseason and nothing else is going on but it is a long offseason filled with the draft and multiple other cuts of players over the next 6 months. Shows how irrational some fans really are if no "big" signings happen in the 1st 24 hours.

Apparently the FO screwed up trading Dockery

The article has numerous fallacies. 1st he was released Thursday morning, not Friday. I doubt this is any more than rumor. -
That's right....just spend money, any money. That is the formula for winning right? Some other player is better just because he was not on the Bills last year.

OK Brandon, who gets fired? OL coach or Modrak
Ray replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Already renewed my season tickets. OL will be fine. -
A good signing and a quality 2nd QB. Smart, understands offenses and defenses and will fill his duty well. It is an upgrade as he is better than JP and will be a solid 2nd QB........he is not going to win you a SB but can go in and win a handful of games for you. Or at least have the common sense to throw a ball away before the 2 minute warning instead of taking a sack and fumbling.
-
Smart, capable back up....I'll take him. We are not going to get much better. Can not see Green or Garcia coming here and do not see paying either of them 3M a year and making more than the starter.

Skins only had 8.1 million in cap space
Ray replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you would feel better by your owner spending money on guys that underperform once the owner pays them millions and millions of dollars in guaranteed money? People get way too crazy in free agency. We all would have loved Haynesworth for 8M a year but that was just not going to happen. How did the Skins' do in the playoffs this year with all the spending they did? About as well as the Bills. Formulas like the Steelers and the Pats work consistently which is not overpaying for the "top" free agents that year. -
Although I bet he did not give up 13 sacks last year like our LT. The problem people have here paying Peters so much is that he has had one good year and giving someone 9-10M a year for one good year is VERY risky especially for a small market team that when they take big bets has to win the vast majority of time. The problem is that you could have gotten the saem production you got out of Peters last year as moving Walker over to the LT like they did when he was holding out.

Less "character" players, please!
Ray replied to UpstateSwagger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That Mike Vick pick worked out great for Atlanta....picking a guy who is not going to be on the field is a huge risk/mistake.
