You are right, people need to relax and rejoice in a win....some people here would be mad if this team won 11 in a row b/c Jauron wouldn't be fired.
-
As bad as this team has been they could be alone in first place in the AFC East.....that is amazing, but the reality is they are 2-4. Can they run off 11 in a row? Just kidding
-
If he leads this team to the playoffs he definitely deserves a cereal....Fitzy Flakes!!!
-
Fitz is not the long term solution at QB but neither is Edwards. Right now I think you allow Fitz to play and see how he does. He gets at least two weeks to prepare and see how he does. Right now just play the guy who gives you the best chance to win week to week. The biggest thing we learn from that game (although it was already evident to 99% of us) is that Trent is NOT the QB of the future. Even if he played well at all this year you would be concerned about an injury every year and then a second concussion. Too bad, as he is a classy guy. Hopefully for his sake he goes on to do well in backup role for a good career like Todd Collins. Not a bad way to make 1-2M per year

Just keep winning and people will be quiet. Good job outcoaching Ryan in that game DJ. I've gotta say I'm happy for him and the team and hopefully they do something with the win

From a Jets Fan - Good Win today, Buffalo.

Who starts next week at QB vs Carolina?
Ray replied to toddgurley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edwards will not be playing for the next two weeks....needs to be symtom free for a week and with this being his second one it will take longer for him to come back and will be a lot more cautious. Looks like the Harvard guy for at least a couple more weeks -
Agree we had good OL play today. Edwards got a concussion as a result of a cheap shot and actually did not throw the ball on the slant that was there. Against a team that routinely brings huge pressure the 4 rookies played VERY WELL!! They knew what they were doing and pass blocked well....when they bring 6 and you have 5 there will be one unblocked people who want to criticize the line and it is up to the QB to make a play
-
I feel bad for Trent as this is going to be a problem for him. This is his second big concussion and concussions are an addictive problem. It is unfortunate for him b/c he has been the victim of two cheap shots. I have seen enough of him to realize he is not the answer but feel bad for the guy b/c he is a very good person....it is too bad as for awhile he looked like he may be the long term answer. But with concussion number two he is at least three weeks from coming back to play and another concussion could spell an end to his career.

Trade Parish, Owens and Lynch and sign Garcia
Ray replied to bubills31's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do NOT trade Lynch. He is a very good back and he and Jackson complement each other well. No back goes 16 games carrying it 20 times a game anymore. You need 2 good backs and be grateful we have two! Don't create more needs for this team -
So... maybe Edwards is the problem?
Ray replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keep in mind people who stated we ran slants today....we actually run them every game, the ball actually needs to be thrown. Trent is a real good guy and person, but he has shown he is not the long term answer at QB. Fitz isn't either but this was the best offensive performance in 4 weeks and probably not a surprise it was with Fitz. Fitz is a back up QB but the problem is that is what Edwards is too. -
He should have had three more catches but they put their best cover corner on TO and not Evans....he still does free up others!
-
That's why this was a big win as those games are all possible wins (as well as all losses), so it keeps the Bills relevant for awhile. A win next week would be nice. All of a sudden things may look up, but be happy this was a good win
-
Did we win it, or did the Jests lose this game?
Ray replied to Force_Majeur's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills won....if you win a game you win. The Browns won last week and the Bills lost. For those like Jerry Sullivan who love Rex Ryan, well he just got outcoached by Dick Jauron and JS shouls say so in the paper tomorrow if he is honest. People should be happy, the Bills won. They have a winnable game next week, and maybe they can stay relevant for a few more weeks -
Absolutely he is 95% of the problem. Jim Kelly said the same thing watching the coaches film as well...he said it very nicely b/c he really likes Trent as aperson and said he is really a great person but said in the last few games the plays are there. The receivers are open, he has the time to throw etc...... DJ also implied that as well in the press conference. If I was DJ I would have a VERY short leash today on Edwards and just pull him if he pulls the same pathetic performance he has for about one full season now.

Food TV/Guy Fieri shooting at Bills/Bears pre-season game
Ray replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The pork stuffed Buffalo Chicken was the most difficult dish and likely the tastiest. Yet again Buffalo gets screwed! -
It was the QBs NOT the Oline...name me a QB that left the Bills after being horrible that was great elsewhere! You can't. It wasn't the coaching, it wasn't the OL it was the fact the QBs were bad. How did Rob Johnson, K Holcomb, JP Losman and Drew Bledsoe do elsewhere? Oh yeah, they didn't do well b/c they were not good QBs. We need a QB. I do not think Chris Simms is that QB but am tired of all the excuses that these QBs are not good b/c of everything else. When it comes down to it, it is the QB. And we haven't had a good one since Kelly with exception of Flutie for a year. And if RJ was SOOOOO good just a victim of circumstance here how come he was horrible with Gruden in Tampa and with the Redskins!

Bills staying in Buffalo - The Economics 101
Ray replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are we on the Bills are moving thread again and is the paranoia setting in? Let's do the math yet again. Someone in Toronto has to A) Buy the team B) Build a NEW stadium and C) Pay the relocation fee to the NFL So conservatively that is 3B dollars.....I am sure creditors are lining up to give someone 2B...assuming Rogers' family has 1B in liquid cash they want to spend for a hobby. 2B to make maybe 15-20M a year in profit? The debt service at 6% on 2B is 120 MILLION a year....not even touching the principal! Not sure Canadians are interested in giving Rogers' et al the money for a stadium....let me answer it for you...they are NOT. Hey one of the best things for the Bills was Toronto not getting the Olympics....otherwise they would have a stadium they would need to fill. We're not even touching the topic of disbanding the CFL if the NFL goes to Toronto. Face it guys/gals, the Bills are staying in Buffalo. The downside is that since Ralph never pressed the state for a new Stadium we will not get one but that's okay as long as the Bills stay...which they will. -
Marv is just loyal to a fault. He likes those guys and they haven't panned out. For a time it looked like the Edwards, Lynch Poz draft class would be one of the best in Bills history but now Edwards is a constant back up, although Poz and Lynch are still very good. Things were much worse in terms of feelings about the team, 5 years of the TD era and the Bills needed something to It all comes down to us needing a QB. When Marv took over JP looked like he may be the guy but then he was horrible, then TE looked promising and now he is horrible. And don't say it is coaching....I will believe it is coaching when those guys go on in the NFL to light it up with other teams.

Of course you can get a great QB with an average or bad GM......it is 50/50% drafting a QB in the first round especially in the top 10. Ryan Leaf, J Harrington, Akili Smith vs Manning Ryan Flacco Countless examples. The Pats lucked out on T Brady as if they knew he was going to be so good they would have picked in sooner. But the major determinant of a great team is the QB.....when they are great and you add other great players like Moss to the Pats the great QBs get even better. Brady led a team to AFC Championship game with R Caldwell as the number one WR. M Harrison leaves the Colts and they do not miss a beat. C Palmer goes down last year and the Bengals are horrible and he is back this year playing well and the Bengals have great wins. Everyone on this board thinks that a magical coaching change will change it all....my point is simply the Bills need a QB. Once you have your QB of the future you are set and things fall in to place. Now getting that QB is another thing. If you substituted C Palmer/ Either Manning/TB with Edwards the Bills are 4-1 or 5-0. The postition is just so important to a football team in every facet of the game. A very good QB makes that pass to Owens in the NO game and the Bills go up in the 4th quarter. Instead of being in a passing down late in the 4th quarter where they know you are passing and TE gets sacked for the last 5 minutes of the game you control your own dynasty. The players are open, polays are there to be made and TE is NOT making them. There was a time when I thought TE really was going to take the next step and be the guy for the next 10 years but it s obvious he is not. The QB of the future is not on the roster and that is what makes this so frustrating.....have to go through this rebuild all again

Do you blame Edwards for being shell-shocked?
Ray replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The QBs that fail fail b/c they are bad. Not b/c of poor OL, not enough weapons etc....if you are good you will show that and you will play in the league. All of the above examples were bad QBs. -
A great QB trumps them all and it has been proved time and time again. You can get away with an average coach and a great QB but not the other way around
-
Just goes to show you it is all about QB play....every OC is horrible if they do not have a good QB. Do you really think they do not design plays to go to their playmakers? The QB just needs to make them
-
New QB......that at least has some promise or success in the league
