  1. It is always goof to win......it amazes me how people are disappointed with wins. So you mean to tell me that if the Bills ran the table (exceedingly unlikely) you would be upset? What kind of fan is upset when they win? The draft is a crapshoot anyway.....David Carr, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, Tim Couch, etc etc.... You can draft a great player as easily and with much better bang for the buck at 15 as you can at number 4 (remember Mike Williams?). So enjoy the season, enjoy winning again. I think it is MUCH better for the players on the team to expereince winning, know what it takes to win and get accumtomed to it. That FAR surpasses picking some 21 yr old at number 3 instead of 14 who you are giving 25M in guaranteed money to......gee that's not risky. Let's go Bills. 8-8 is much better than 4-12 and gives the franchise something to build on and create a culture of winning!
  2. The problem and frustrating thing about Peters is that he has Pro Bowl talent, but his attitude is poor and he does get beat a couple times a game almost getting his QB crushed. He is NOT a franchise LT that everyone thinks about but he probably does have the talent to be one if he was more dedicated and focused. He has admitted to not concentrating, being lazy etc....Not a guy you want to gamble 10M a year on for 5-6 years. It is too bad because he great athletic ability and talent but his mind is inconsistent and that is why he gets beat and will not come close to living up to his contract. People in Philly I've heard are talking about getting a raw deal.....they were thinking he was a Pace/Boselli in their prime. They are sadly mistaken.
  3. Great QB trumps all! Flutie was very good behind the same OL Johnson was terrible behind. Same for Tom Brady behind the same OL that Drew Bledsoe was horrible behind. Having a great QB makes all the difference in the world. It helps to have a very good OL, don't get me wrong. But a great QB makes up for a lot of the deficiencies. And Dog, you are the one who has it wrong.....even if we had the best OL Trent would still be bad. He had all the time to throw those last three passes that series against the Titans. He had time to throw that pick six against Miami. Go and listen to Jim Kelly speak about reviewing the game tape.....he has time and people are open. This is the NFL and you do not get 5-6 seconds to throw the ball. P Manning does not, he just knows what he is doing and where to go with the ball.
  4. It all starts with the right QB...I could really care less who the coach is.....bring Perry Fewell in and keep him if we have a QB! The Colts are really missing Dungy aren't they? But they sure would miss Peyton!
  5. So what's Trent's excuse for being terrible this year when he hasn't played in a game under 50 degrees.....it was 70 in Nashville, 80 in Miami, 80+ in the preseason in Buffalo, etc........how many excuses are there? How about he is a career back-up! I thought last year he was the future but over the past 20 games anyone can see he just doesn't get it, but he will be a decent 2nd string for some team and hopefully for him since he is a good guy makes a nice career out of it.
  6. So the same OL and coaching with Bledsoe was a conspiracy to get Brady in for the Pats and the same OL and coaching was a conspiracy to let Rob Johnson fail and let Flutie succeed? Of course coaching and OLs make some difference but in the NFL coaching and OL play is very similar across the board. Did Dan Henning, Mike Malarkey, and Kevin Gilbride become geniuses once they left B'lo? They all succeeded and none of the QBs did. Put P Manning on our team and we are 8-1 at least with the same coaching and OL. Pittsburgh's OL allowed the most sacks in the NFL the year they won the SB....well, that's b/c Big Ben is one the best 5 QBs in the league. I am just so tired of the apologists for awful QB play. Last year it was that we had no weapons opposite L Evans. Well, we do now and both of them are consistently open and Trent cannot hit them.....not talking about times when guys are in his face. When he has 4 seconds to get rid of the ball and does not. If Trent is soooo good like people still seem to claim and it's everyone else's fault then he will definitely go on after Buffalo and succeed. My bet is that his fate is the same as T Collins, RJ, Bledsoe and Losman b/c they all have the same thing in common......they are not quality starting QBs in the NFL.
  7. Trent is done people. Very nice guy and very good human being but not a starting NFL QB. People need to stop with the excuses, late bloomer etc...Drew Brees had success and fair amount of it in San Diego and everyone could tell he was a very good QB. They just had a 1st Round draft pick sitting the bench and had to make a decision. Name me a Bills QB that went on to have great success elsewhere recently. You cannot. The same problems they had with the Bills were the same problems they had elsewhere. It is NOT the OC. It is NOT the OL. It is the fact we had bad QBs that were not good. Trent is no exception. There is really no use for him to play as we now know he is bad and will not be the guy. Bledsoe was awful for the Cowboys and how come the OL in Dallas was instantly better when Romo started playing? How come the Pats OL was instantly better the minute Brady started. The OL and the OCs were the same. It all comes down to QB play and a great QB will make things happen and make throws. Gruden could not make Rob Johnson a great QB because RJ is a bad QB. Trent had plenty of time on all the throws he needed to make when the score was 24-17....he can not throw a 15 yard out accurately three times in a row? Sorry Trent defenders, it is not the OL or the OC. He may be marginally better behind a great OL but in the end he has to make the throws. And when he has time behind this line he does NOT make the throws consistently. Put Trent on the Colts and they are 2-7 instead of 9-0. The QB makes that dramatic an impact on a team. They touch the ball every play. It does not matter what coach you bring in unless you have a great QB. Ask Bill Bellicheck who was so successful before Tom Brady......and Bellicheck is a great coach, one of the best ever but it does not matter unless you have a great QB.
  8. What this tells you is how terrible Trent really is.....they went back, reviewed the tape and realized how many times he makes the wrong decision. Listened to JK today on the radio and again he likes Trent personally so it is tough for him to say it, but Trent is just bad. Not making correct decisions at all. The plays are there, people are open he just is not getting it done. What this tells me is that his days are numbered. Really too bad as I thought his rookie year and at times last year he could be the solution but he has just tanked the last 20 games plus pre-season and if he is pulled for Fitz it means the coaches have seen enough too.
  9. The guy may run for 2000 yards this year.....Poz is hardly the only one exposed. EVERY MLB has been exposed by this guy. He is a GREAT player
  10. makes no difference until they find a QB....Jauron, Cowher, Holmgren....who cares? It does not matter until they find a QB.
  11. It's not the coaching people that makes Edwards play terrible. It is Edwards. It was Todd Collins, K Holcomb, D Bledsoe, JP Losman, R Johnson that all were terrible. NOT the coaching. If you are a very good QB it will show and you will be successful. Dan Henning, Mike Mularkey and K Gilbride are all successful as OCs and can somehow coach offense now but were run out of town after people said the same thing that the coaching was bad. Maybe they are all good coaches when the QBs can play! Edwards is bad b/c of Edwards NOT the coaches. Teams have tape on him now, know what he does well and what he does not and make him play poorly. It is too bad as I really thought he was the answer but after almost a full season of putrid play I'm convinced he is not.
  12. Who is that running past Greer? I really liked him as a CB but McGee is better and we signed him. You cannot sign everyone. 7M a year for Greer seems a bit much. Great person and great player though!
  13. It's 90% about the players anyway.....you can demonize Jauron all you want but it all comes down to the players and actually having a great QB.....why have the Bills failed to make the playoffs for 10 years now? B/c we have not had a QB. Face it, it is not the coaching. Coaches who went on to have a lot of success and SUPER BOWL RINGS!!! Kevin Gilbride has a SB ring and was run out of town b/c supposedly he was an idiot. Well his offense won a SB. Mike Mularkey now looks great as an OC in Atlanta. Dan Henning in Miami. etc...etc... Now look at the QBs we have had...Todd Collins, JP Losman, AVP, K Holcomb, D Bledsoe, R Johnson, and D Flutie. Did any of those QBs go on to light it up anywhere else? No! It was the fact the QB's themselves were bad not the coaching. Amazing how the best teams in the NFL have great QBs.....both Mannings, Brady, Palmer, Favre, Flacco, Rothlisberger, etc...... And BTW K Orton will now be exposed yet again. The Broncos are the '09 version of the '08 Bills after a great start they will be bad....they do get to play both Oakland and KC twice a year though!
  14. And trade Ellison for a 2nd round pick! What world are people living in? Stroud and Lynch for round one picks? Seriously? I like both guys but you are getting a 3rd or a 4th max for either one! Also, the biggest thing this team needs is a QB. We need a QB and it fixes 75% of your problems. We have good enough guys as WRs to get the job done. But having 10 3 and outs does not help your team or defense or field position. Get a QB that is great and you have a great team. Not very easy to find that is the problem.
  15. What is the excuse for the Patriots the best team this decade having more injuries than the Bills over the past three years? They were so decimated one year that Troy Brown played CB for them. People it is part of the game. The Bills are like most other teams....it is a violent game and people get hurt. So increase the amount of injuries by having them hit more? Makes a lot of sense
  16. I was a TE fan and thought he was the QB of the future. However, from what I saw this year, preseason and the end of last year in combination with all of his injuries I realize he is not the QB of the future and probably will be a good NFL backup for his career. He was absolutely horrendous against a horrendous Cleveland team. He makes a presnap determination and checks down consistently. Fitz seems to have a better presence back there and does what he has to do. The one thing that stands out for Fitz is that the more he plays in this league the better he is......he is 5-0 in his last 5 games as a QB and also came in against the Jets down 10 points. Against that defense when you are one dimensional....that makes it tough. He did lead three scoring drives in that game although not looking overly impressive. But to the objective observer there is no question right now who is playing better and who the better QB is at this time. It is Fitz and you go with Fitz.
  17. Fitz is 5-0 in his last 5 games! Not too bad.
  18. Greg Williams "I don't like fat players" but yes it was more Donahoe.
  19. Peters effort was huge on that play. Remember he only gets half pay for a chop block so no need to give much effort.
  20. Huge number of Bills fans. Charlotte is a very nice town. Weather is typically great although yesterdady was cool and cloudy. The stadium is a nice stadium but with lame atmosphere.....the chants are horrendous and remind you of a high school football game. Saw a lot of kids there as it is a much more family friendly environment than the Ralph.
  21. Greg Williams and Tom Donahoe got rid of him and only had to pay him a small amount more for him to stay.....one of the dumbest moves in the franchise. GW got here and thought he could bring in anyone and the guys that were still here (Moulds and Ruben) thought it was annoying as he made it sound like nobody had ever played good D before.....newsflash, the year before the Bills were number one in the NFL in defense. Wade knew what he was doing with a defense! Loved PW and still do....he really wanted to stay in B'lo
  22. No change in gameplan just the change in QB with everything else the same which is a wonderful experiement as you just change one thing and violla.....you have a QB throwing to the WRs. He did have at least three drops yesterday and the guy can make plays. He is not Tom Brady but when the opportunity was there to make a play he made it. I think they can actually capitalize on his very good mobility as well......he is also smart getting to the line quickly on short yardage situations and getting 1st downs. Hey, the guy is 5-0 in his last 5 games so he is winning. It is just so nice to see Dereck Fine not being our go to receiver
  23. Does this idiot realize what an indictment this is on his defense? The Jets' defense is so bad the Bills' offense beat them. Did LS get a nice view of Evans from behind or was he too far ahead of him?
  24. He actually won his last three games last year for Cincinnati....and if you look at his games and stats he actually got the ball to Chad Johnson a fair amount. I am not saying he is our QB of the future but you have to agree he is playing like the better QB right now (yes after only one game and he outplayed Trent in the preseason as well) and he has much better mobility. Give him a chance and see where he leads us.....what if the Bills go 2-0 in the next two games and go in to the bye week 4-4 with Fitz going essentially 3-0 (lots of faith for that to happen I know)? What happens then? I do sense that some people on the board would be upset if this team goes undefeated the rest of the way b/c Jauron would be the coach still....what would be wrong with that if they went undefeated the rest of the way. I am not delusional I just say that to illustrate the point!
  25. Who gives the team a better chance to win? Fitz Is he the QB of the future? No, but let's try and win now and you know Edwards is not. Even if you want to make the Grand Canyon sized leap that Trent is just in a funk and under all that is really a great QB he has an awful injury history. You are not going to give him a big contract at all given the injuries. So let's try and win now and see what Fitz can do....you already have the decision on TE. The worst Fitz can do is play like Edwards and we lose. We actually saw a QB throw to the WRs Sunday......hasn't really happened much at all this year.
