  1. I don't really care about individual awards in team sports, so I haven't paid much attention to this MVP "race" outside of Buffalo YouTube channels and Bills sites (which all seem to have already given him the award). I've been a Bills fan since the 60s and of course would like to see Josh win MVP. I have not watched the Ravens or Philly at all this season other than the game where Baltimore blew out the Bills. Just going by stats, isn't Lamar having a better season? To give Josh the award because Lamar won it twice already just seems to lessen the validity of the MVP. Is it more about who is most valuable to their team or who is the best player in the league? I'd say Josh is the most valuable to his team (they would likely not even make the playoffs without him) but I don't follow the rest of the league so I can't say where he ranks as far as best player overall.
  2. I was debating whether to even watch the game tonight since I am a pessimist and expect the worst. Now I can relax just a bit and hopefully watch a dominating Bills win.
  3. I am scared to watch. The Bills history is filled with amazing victories and soul crushing losses, and I don't know if I can handle the latter. I actually had a nightmare last night where the Bills lost 69-24. The game took place in Miami but the field was covered with a sheet of ice! Instead of running, the players were literally sliding down the field at tremendous speeds. The Bills have a great opportunity to get the 2nd seed and go into the playoffs with some momentum. I just don't know if I can watch it.
  4. I'm a golfer, and to me it appears that Bass has been slicing his kicks a lot lately, some resulting missing right.
  5. Morris is an above average athlete and receiver for a TE. What they will miss with Knox being out is blocking. Neither Kincaid nor Morris are the greatest blocking TEs.
  6. The pass rush has greatly improved and I think this season's Bills defense has been all about the takeaways. Teams have moved the ball on them but the Bills have managed to take the ball away in crucial moments. If they manage to continue this trend they will be fine.
  7. When cleaning out my closet this past week, I just happened upon a Bills t-shirt that my sister-in-law gave me years ago. It was still in it's packaging, so I opened it and wore it during the game. I took it off in the 4th quarter and I'll never wear it again.
  8. I don't get the "my heart bleeds for Aaron" stuff. He's had a long successful career and is a millionaire many times over.
  9. Well, it can't get any worse...right?
  10. I only follow the Bills so I don't know much about other teams around the league, but there must be teams where they have plenty of quality O-linemen (or MLBs), so they might have to cut above average players at those positions. Are there any particular teams that fit this description?
  11. Beane stated several times that they were letting Matt go because they "thought it was best for Matt"...not once stating that they were doing what was best for the Bills organization. While I have always liked and respected Beane from what little I've seen and heard, that seems at the very least an obviously disingenuous statement.
  12. A Buffalo Rumblings article on the TB game starts out with this completely nonsensical sentence... "Tom Brady (ugh) and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to overcome a sluggish first-half performance from the Buffalo Bills to secure a 33-27 victory in overtime." Really? How does a team overcome the opponent's sluggish start?
  13. I was checking out some Chicago based articles on the game and was very surprised to find several blaming the loss on Dalton. Was it Dalton giving up 40+ points? I guess they are all on the rookie's bandwagon.
  14. I'd love to agree with this trajectory sort of thinking, but I don't think it necessarily works that way. Every season is its own and just because you are a good team there is no guarantee you will be better the next season or that other teams won't improve more than you. NFL history is filled with Super Bowl teams not even making the playoffs the following year (which really points out how remarkable and impressive even going to 4 straight Super Bowls was!). I want to be optimistic that the Bills will be as relevant for as long a time as they were irrelevant. Having Josh at QB is obviously a good start. I think he is a good combination of work ethic and physical skills. I also think that the Bill's current coaching staff and administration seems like a positive. All in all, I am hopeful but try to keep my expectations realistic.
  15. Mckenzie looked special to me in how well he adjusted to the ball in the air. Watching Foster early on last season I was impressed with his speed but saw that he was very poor at tracking/adjusting to the ball (he did improve a lot on that throughout the season). Speed is great...and Mckenzie has that...but he also seems to be very good at getting to the right spot and adjusting his routes. He is one player who really stood out to me from that game. If he is doing it in practice (and continues to do it) AND he can be effective on ST I'd love to see him make the team.
  16. I don't think the NFL draft is like the NBA draft. In the NBA, a team needs a top 3 pick 2 or 3 years in a row...or get really lucky with a lower pick...to really make a major difference. The NFL draft is significantly deeper, with quality players well down the list. Only when there is a "sure fire" superstar does a team need a top pick. The problem isn't that the Bills don't get high draft picks, it is that they either haven't done a good job of evaluating players or that they haven't gotten lucky with lower round picks.
  17. I don't understand what Thurman Thomas has to do with the QB situation.
  18. A couple of weeks ago I saw a "What's the Scoop" segment with Bojorquez and he clearly stated that he gets cold really easily. That's the real reason he has been replaced.
  19. I'm in Florida now and would like to find the best Podcasts or pre-game web-based radio about the game (and every Bills game). Any suggestions (and links) would be appreciated.
  20. I agree...and didn't Streeter have above average speed as well? Riley may not have been a burner, but he sure had a knack for getting open and he actually caught the ball. I think his injury came at the worst time. There has been a long history of teams trying out track stars and speed guys. Speed is definitely a bonus but to me should be less valued than knowing how to get open and having great hands to catch anything in the vicinity.
  21. They must have been really impressed with him as a player if the kept him on the active roster over many others even knowing he might miss several games due to injury. Either that or they underestimated the severity of his injury.
  22. So without Vontae the Bills become the 9th oldest team instead of the 7th?
  23. We now need topic threads for when they replace just about every other position with a different player.
  24. After Wednesday Night's BBE everyone will be back on the wagon.
