  1. Pfft. Everybody thinks they nailed it. Here's the CIN's bragging... ..."Jerry Jones, the former Cincinnati pharmacist who publishes the draft survey, The Drugstore List, talked to about 10 league evaluators to come up with a consensus of where they had all the prospects rated. Where the Bengals ended up taking them is in parenthesis: Gresham 20 (21), Dunlap 39 (54), Shipley 94 (84), cornerback Brandon Ghee 71 (96), Atkins 91 (120), linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy 134 (131), guard Otis Hudson free agent (152), Briscoe 83 (191), center Reggie Stephens free agent (228)."... http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/No-p...84-98c92585de72
  2. Reminds me of Jason Peters - thought to be a 3rd round pick - but was a UDFA. BUF was lucky there...
  3. He's not shell-shocked. He's a player that will do anything to protect against damage to his knees and legs.
  4. Can you block? Goofy draft by BUF - if they wanted some spiff, I would have thought they would have plucked an early-round WR. As well as a CB (blasphemy, I know). Because they had their CBs playing safety, and their Safties playing CB for years. So now they change their scheme. McK if he returns, and McGee better be getting in shape and stretching their legs in the clubhouse. Last year, we noted Levitre's T-Rex arms, but now think he's the LT of the future. If I were calling plays against BUF next season, I'll toss long. Amazing - this hailing of a 7th rnd QB...
  5. Sooo....we hated Fox sport's overall grade of "C", but we love this Fox guy...
  6. I'm sure he is...but has there ever been a high draftee that didn't utter rah-rah words upon being selected, with that promise of big $$$ just around the bend?
  7. I didn't recognize the name either...I thought they picked Twyla Tharp.
  8. Nice avatar... One of our posters, dev/null, ran a poll about Spiller. My response was "I can live with it". Spiller looks to be an OK player. I asked in several posts, and didn't get much of an answer, about how he pass blocks. That's important if he is in there in a substantial number of snaps. On their side, is their #9 slotting, in a draft that all the big noise gurus say is one of the strongest in years.
  9. I'm not quite sure that the drafting of a rookie RB will turn around one of the NFL's most moribund offenses and somehow make it into some kind of powerhouse...
  10. I wouldn't anoint him. He's yet to play a down. Simpson was a big, fast, powerful back that could shift direction in an instant at full speed. In the couple of years HC Raush put him on return duty, he set the records for KRs IIRC.
  11. QB wild card - PGH and R-Burger, and a day 2 trade...
  12. If he proves totally inept at blocking, our QB will be at risk if he's in the backfield and a pass is called. I wasn't asking if he can block for another running back. I find it difficult to think - given his style, given the college game, that he got much coaching on that aspect of rb play. Well - if so, the BUF staff will have to educate him...
  13. The vid stopped, and I couldn't get is re-started when Gruden asked about blitz pickup. Might be me and my computer - I'm sure no YouTube sophisticate...
  14. Gruden's press conferences after a TB loss were a treat to behold.
  15. Whoops - didn't see your post re his ST skills, so I deleted mine. I agree - fine selection.
  16. Happy B'Day!
  17. BAL made out - DEN handed them their 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks. http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09000d5d...mp;confirm=true
  18. "I can live with it". The experts raved about how deep a draft this is, and BUF with its' #9 slot will get plenty of good bites of the apple. Question: Can he block?
