  1. Syndicated article in my morning n'paper about the Colts bugging out of Baltimore in the dead of the night. I like the photo of the moving van driving past the Baltimore colts sign... "Colts' trip to Baltimore rekindles emotions Even 23 years down the road BY BOB KRAVITZ | THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR It was like a military operation. The marching orders, cryptic and limited to a rare few in the know, were coming through in the spring of 1984 as the Indianapolis Colts' exodus from Baltimore was being planned..." http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...0394/1067/SPT02
  2. Are you a member of that "culture of corruption" the Dems are always yapping about?
  3. I've never had any particular problem with shaving. I shave last thing in the shower, and take short strokes, like a barber using a straight razor. Started out with Gillette double-edge Thin blades, and went through Blue Blades, Super Blue blades, Stainless Steel blades, a Wilkerson Sword injector razor, Atra, and Trac II. I have tried a Mach III blade - Gillette occasionally packages one with their Trac II's. It was ok.
  4. Really? I have a heavy beard, and those quattro ones I bought cheap work well. I usually use store-brand trac II's or the two-blade disposables. I shave in the shower - and that makes a difference...
  5. Good post. Folks often think that old heap they drive around should command a king's ransom.
  6. I give up. I do not argue with mother.
  7. Who programmed you to say that?
  8. You got something against Goodwill?
  9. Who paid for, or is paying for, the current stadium?
  10. Assuming he will have other suitors, you wouldn't want to pay the price unless you plan to use the TE as a receiver a fair amount. The teams that do have other substantial threats...LT, Tiki Barber, Vick's running, Larry Johnson, Brady/Dillon/Monroney etc. Nothing is cast in stone, of course, but IMO other needs press.
  11. I've a cheap electric with a trimmer for back of neck and evening sideburns. Otherwise, blade. Currently using a pink-handled "Lady" Schick Quattro... I bought 2 of those Christmas gift-packs, because at ten bucks for the handle and six quattro cartridges it was only a dollar more than a four-pack of quattro blades. It also included a wood foot massage roller and a manicure kit, which I put into the Goodwill bag.
  12. I'd say so too. There are some teams that prominently feature a TE in their pass offense...NE, NYG, ATL, SD, KC come to mind. But most don't. And O.C. Fairfield's offenses in STL didn't.
  13. On the bright side, we wouldn't have to worry about MIA going after any decent LB talent.
  14. Didn't they have a very, very remote chance of slipping into the playoffs? If so, I wouldn't use up a gameday active roster spot on a player that has seen virtually no action all season long. Injuries at other positions matter, too.
  15. Unholy alliances forming? The NFL Network showed 2 college bowl games - the Texas Bowl, and another that I forget. During the college season, some games of interest in the Cincy area were carried by the ESPNU channel...not offered here on cable...ESPN like NFL Network being involved in a battle with T-W, those 2 wanting all T-W customers to pay (it would generate over a million bucks per month for NFL Network, regardless if watched). Also, the basketball game of the season - UC vs. Xavier, was exclusive to ESPNU. As I understand it, colleges arrive at some monetary agreement with ESPN. So I'm wondering, especially in light of these escalating coach salaries, if more and more NCAA games will be going to more-or-less "pay per view" as colleges look for sweeter deals... PS - Here's a bit of a breakdown of the contract of the new UC football coach, Brian Kelly (who took over for Mark Dantonio, who left the bowl-bound club for more $$$) that was published in the morning paper here. First time I saw some details of one. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...100407/1062/SPT
  16. IIRC, some forum members here said that he didn't look so good this season. Not sure, though...
  17. In the late '90's Toyoya narrowed coolant passages in their main-stream I-4 and V-6 motors to raise combustion chamber temperatures, to increase fuel efficiency. Oil collecting in the valleys of the cylinder head(s) got overheated and broke down. The resulting sludge eventually broke free and clogged oil passages, resulting in major engine damage. If the settlement is finalized in court this February, 7.5 million Toyota/Lexus current and previous owners will receive notification of the settlement. If you own an affected-class vehicle, read it over carefully. "Toyota Agrees to Sludge Settlement for Consumers. Class Action Suit Brings Relief to 3.5 Million Toyota, Lexus Owners By Joe Benton ConsumerAffairs.Com January 8, 2007 Consumers saddled with sludge-clogged Toyota engines may soon get some help from the Japanese auto giant under the terms of a class-action lawsuit settlement that covers roughly 3.5 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles damaged by engine oil sludge. An engine gummed up with oil sludge can cost thousands of dollars to repair and in many cases must be replaced. The class action settlement could potentially cost the automaker hundreds of millions of dollars. The agreement will allow consumers whose claims have been denied by Toyota to submit those claims to a third-party mediator at no cost for binding arbitration. The lawsuit, filed in a Louisiana district court, could receive final approval by the middle of February. Details of the settlement are being mailed to 7.5 million current and previous Toyota and Lexus owners. The agreement provides owners of sludge-damaged Toyotas eight years plus 120 days from the original purchase date to file a complaint. Toyota consumers who have repaired their sludge-damaged engines may be able to recover their costs. The car only needs to show evidence of oil sludge damage. The terms of the settlement are transferable to future vehicle owners." and "Toyotas covered by the Louisiana settlement include the: • Camry 4 cylinder from 1997-2001, • Camry 6 cylinder from 1997-2002, • Camry Solara 4 cylinder from 1999-2001, • Camry Solara 6 cylinder 1999-2002, • Sienna 6 cylinder from 1998-2002, • Avalon 6 cylinder from 1997-2002, • Celica 4 cylinder from 1997-1999, • Highlander 6 cylinder from 2001-2002, • Lexus ES 300 from 1997-2002 and • Lexus RX 300 from 1999-2002." http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007...settlement.html
  18. I've no idea about the blinking "D4" indicator. It's hard to think it's any sort of warning signal. 145K is a lot of miles - and a lot of vibration and temperature cycling. Maybe something on the panel circuit board is starting to fail? Re: The left headlight: Sure sounds like some sort of failing connection, either mechanical or electrical. Perhaps an intermittent short. Or a failing connector. In the auto corrosion biz, there are patterns of damage and failure. The left side of the vehicle takes a greater beating than the right, because as the vehicle is driven, it gets hit by spray, slop, debris, stones etc. generated by the oncoming traffic. Result being that it spends more time undergoing potential corrosive, wet conditions than the RH side. The right hand side, however tends towards more lower body corrosion - because of the crown, a vehicle parked on the road is slightly canted towards the curb, so the collection and retainment of moisture is incrementally higher than the LH side - resulting in more rot-outs of rocker boxes, door bottoms, and inner/outer fender weldments and flanges.\
  19. You should take a look at the the guy. Built like a bull, fists like sledgehammers, and a pock-marked face that would scare the daylights out of a half-dozen mob enforcers.
  20. Is that the Joe Crangle, the old Democratic party boss man? I'd have thought he'd be playin' cards with Satan by now...
  21. Paul Hackett - D, who ran against Jean Schmidt - R in a special House election last year to replace Rep. Portman who joined the Administration, is being investigated by a Hamilton, OH county grand jury for a November incident where he followed and forced to the ground, some young people who crashed into his fence at his domicile in the posh, exclusive town of Indian Hills, OH. Hackett was armed with an AR-15, and the police said he told them he puts one round in the chamber and that he usually has 28 rounds in the magazine. Anybody remember Carl Rowan? http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...EWS01/701100339
  22. He should get a press agent...I see bookings.
  23. So, we can then Blame Canada and Russia.
