From what little I've read, it spiffs up graphics (and so resource requirements), and does a better job of file searches and integrates some communications stuff. For a goodly number of users - non-issues. I just hope MS don't end up sticking the knife into XP... -
Sure...let's let the terrorists come to Danville, California, and we can fight them there...

I'd use the Transition tag, if it's available to them. That keeps the matching option open...I think it's guaranteed top ten money. The B'gals did that with TKO - and then-new HC Lewis tried mightily to retain him. It didn't work out - he was understandably disgusted with them so he was moving on regardless. And he's a FA - there will be compensation. -

It’s been a lot of fun, really.” The snake was stretched out when found near a bike path along the river. “It’s very unusual,” Miller said. “It’d be like finding an alligator down here.” Boas generally don’t coil when cold, said Niki Treadway, a saleswoman at Jacks Aquarium & Pets in Middletown. Snakes also are unable to generate their own body heat and survive by taking heat from external sources, such as the sun or rocks. In November, an eight-foot Colombian red-tail boa worth $2,000 was stolen, along with two other snakes, from a Middletown tattoo parlor. But owner Edward Morris said those snakes had been returned.".

Dunno - I only heard them called splits. Jones Brewery, Smithton, PA, used to sell a beer named "Esquire" that came only in splits - 'twas a smooth brew, unlike their main product - Stoney's. I do lament the virtual demise of the quart. I used to buy a lot of beer that way - something very satisfying about swilling a quart of cheap beer in a paper bag.

Like you clamming up when faced with any refutation? -
Splits used to be popular at catered events, like weddings. The idea there was that folks were socializing, and would leave their bottle behind when they chatted. And they did. So a 7 oz. beer that was consumed made more sense than a 12 oz. one left on a table with some swill remaining.

The Pats still have a decent OL - a bunch of high-motor white guys for those who like to bring such up - and a QB with a quick mind and useful if not top-shelf rush avoidance skills. As long as that remains in effect, they will still be playoff contenders - same as MIA in years past with Marino and that bunch in front of him.

"Harbaugh moves up on Eagles staff NFL insider BY MARK CURNUTTE 01/28/07 Excerpt from article......FUNNY WAY TO ASK: Running back Willis McGahee wants a contract extension from the Bills, but he said in a recent interview with a men's magazine that he wishes the NFL would move the team from Buffalo to Toronto because there's not much to do in Buffalo. The comments, which received widespread play in Buffalo, have not endeared him to fans, who are generally oversensitive about the city's image as a pro sports town. His comments came just days after the news broke that a woman in Miami had filed a paternity suit against McGahee. The count is now three paternity suits in 15 months against McGahee by three different women. He has been declared the biological father in the other two cases and is paying child support."... http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../701280438/1067

I was on the Thruway heading to Penn State, and was turned around and off (S. Ogden Sreett, I think) - and stayed at my sister's house off of French Rd. for 2 or 3 days.

Any day now, rotoworld will report that the world is flat. The odds of Steinbach being re-signed by the B'gals are nil. They spent big $$$ to re-sign LT Levi Jones and TR Willie Anderson last year. Their #2 pick in the last draft - in anticipation of seeing Steinbach move on - was Andrew Whitworth, G/T from LSU. Also, 2004 4th round player Stacey Andrews (younger brother of PHI's Shawn Andrews) has had several starts at the guard spot. And the odds are good that whoever signs Steinbach will do so because they want him to play LT...

I give it about a year 'till they start whining and crying how those mean, mean power companies colluded to cause blackouts and skyrocketing prices... "California bans dirty power sources By TERENCE CHEA, Article Last Updated: 01/25/2007 04:14:35 PM PST California regulators approved rules Thursday banning power companies from buying electricity from high-polluting sources, including most out-of-state coal-burning plants. The rules - aimed at reducing emissions of heat-trapping gases linked to global warming - could have a far-reaching effect on the energy market across the West. While there are almost no coal-fired plants in California, the nation's most populous state, about 20 percent of the state's electricity comes from coal plants in other Western states. The Public Utilities Commission voted 4-0 to prohibit utilities and other energy providers from entering into long-term contracts with sources that emit more carbon dioxide than a modern natural gas plant. The new standard is aimed at encouraging investment in cleaner energy sources such as wind and solar, while discouraging the use of coal and other high-polluting fuels. Coal is cheap and plentiful but releases high levels of carbon dioxide, a gas blamed for trapping heat in the Earth's atmosphere and raising temperatures worldwide. The rule is expected to take effect Feb. 1. A landmark global warming bill Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law last year required the commission to adopt emissions standards for utilities.". http://www.insidebayarea.com/oaklandtribune/ci_5086048
