  1. O'Neal was barely over the limit. IIRC it was one of those 3 beers in an hour type things...the charge may well be reduced. He's not a chronic problem by any means. And yes, he was sat down for a game. Missed 3 other games due to injury - shoulder, I think. I'd be surprised to see him get cut. Tory James is at the end of his career and he'll go, and that would leave Cin with last year's 1st rounder Jonathan Joseph as the lone '06 starter holdover.
  2. He had at least 2 LT starts, plus a start at C plus other playing time at those positions as 3 of 5 B'gal starting linemen missed a lot of games last season. He had an LT start, and 3/4 of a game at C in '05. I'd be surprised if he reaches Hutchinson $$$ unless a team was targeting him at LT. Hutchinson was the big benefactor in a p*ssing contest between SEA and MIN.
  3. Some comment on Steinbach (linked article leads off about FA DE Justin Smith) http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...0440/1067/SPT02 "Smith seems like perfect fit for Rams From Missouri roots on up BY MARK CURNUTTE | MCURNUTTE@ENQUIRER.COM 02/11/07 ...ON THE LINE: The Bengals' other top unrestricted free agent is guard Eric Steinbach, who doesn't figure to be in the team's plans. In some views, Steinbach is an out-of-position tackle, and his versatility is one of the reasons Steinbach figures to attract a great deal of attention quickly. Cleveland likes him as a guard, and the Chicago-area native would be a strong addition to an aging Bears offensive line. In any case, with just a few weeks remaining until the opening of the market, unrestricted free agents are highly unlikely to re-sign with their original teams without getting a feel for interest from other teams.".
  4. It's certainly good to work on either line. But offenses are going to try to isolate folks on a LB, and are successful several times a game. I'm not an especial fan of blitzing - everybody would like to have consistent front four (or three) pressure, but it's nice to have a LB that is skilled at it. Perhaps one of those so-called "tweeners" - who have made a bit of resurgence in the past few years...Merriman, DeWare etc. I don't get to see Bills games, but it's my impression that they lack a decent-blitzing LB. That lack certainly hurt the B'gals, with David Pollack gone early (and likely forever), MLB Odell Thurmann being an idiot and getting kicked out for the season, and FA ex-CFL'er Rashad Jeanty missing several games. I'm all for the physically gifted - but few players are all-round good at everything. So you are going to have to tailor things a bit, if only due to the inevitable attrition from injury and FA, and when this player comes into his prime, another is slowing down.
  5. "5 members are celebrating their birthday today ExiledInIllinois(39), kasper13(35), ILoveBFLO(26), JPL7(23), damnthedaytimple(23)" Happy Birthday, gents!
  6. Part of a DLs' job is to contain and string out wide plays so the LBs can make the tackle. A team with a decent OL, rb blockers and a quick thinking qb will eat those fill-in-the-blanks skill level LBs alive.
  7. It would be hard to top the sheer numbers of dropped jaws, bugged-out eyeballs, and WTF?'s caused by the WMG pick...
  8. That's sadder than his assault with a deadly cell phone...
  9. He shows up on Cincy radio stations from time to time. Nasty, abrasive, belitting, two-faced, whining, cruel, etc. What a piece of work...
  10. I wonder what the facts of the case were. I will say this: because of these recent spates of laws by elected officials jumping in front of the parade that angry parental units demand these days, I'll watch a kid - perhaps your kid - get run over by a car or be grabbed before I intervene and get charged with something like inappropriate touching of a child or worse, making an act of concern brand me as a sex pariah. This non-stop assumption of guilty intent brings myself and a whole bunch of people to this conclusion. Hard as it is to think I would arrive at such. I'll jot down a license plate number. That's it. An adult jerking away a kid might be one of the parental units...who will sue me if I stop the crap.
  11. As somebody once quipped - the AIDs vaccine already exists - keep your pants on, your sleeves rolled down, and your mouth shut.
  12. Buy him some antiseptic hand wipes, a bottle of A-200 brand head lice curative, and a $4 nasal saline spray bottle?
  13. One wonders how the plecobo trialees get treated.
  14. If it's in Education, I'll have additional comments. As well as Public Policy, Sports, Communications, and the like. Or if it came from a mail-order joint like the University of Phoenix, et al.
  15. Perhaps that's the only way she could stand to be in the presence of today's snotty, greedy, sniveling, propagandized, cry-to-whatever parental-type unit on watch today, I-Pod deafened, spoiled, cell phoning, text messaging, ritalin-chewing, Federal money supported, Big Mac-eating, Internet opportuning, posh vacationing, homework cheating, sexually active, cursing, bullying, fashion plate schoolchildren. Perhaps.
  16. In the NFC West. But certainly Fitz & agent would negotiate a hefty price...possibly more than if the Vikes tapped a rookie in the draft with other favorable contract terms.
  17. A favorite: Alf and Willy are in a car. Willy has a stuffed-up nose. Alf offers him a Melmackian cure, which Willy deeply inhales and the results are instantaneous. Willy says "Wow!...what's in it!". Alf replies..."Asbestos!"

  19. Tuesday Weld, in her prime, was...toothsome. http://www.geocities.com/tuesdayweld2/pictures.html
  20. Good memory. I also like Washington more. Checking Walters' stats with HOU last season, he shows 17 receptions for a 9.4 ave, no td's, and 10 ST tackles. IIRC, the Texans signed him for a larger contract than warranted - he being a good team player, nice size, decent on ST's - but based on his career to that date, a back-up wr with some promise. Perhaps they will use him more this year.
  21. Why would TEN be interested in dumping Chris Brown on the cheap?
  22. What is the elevation of those sites...probably a bit more than the topic region...hmmm?
  23. Fez, are you speaking about criminal or civil actions? The fine point between infringement and stealing seems acdemic to most minds, and not really worthy quibbling about unless it is something obsessive . This reference describes the threshold for criminal prosecution under copyright laws... http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap5.html#506
